((You have until 12/7 to post 3 post with two paragraphs each describing the:
1. Meditation of your character.
2. The connection and color discovery of your character in their magic
3. Their element and how they use it for the first time.

They will be in a room with npc adults. Post your responses here and then message a crew member to let them know you finished. They will approve and let you change your character from Apprentice to Hedge Wizard.))

A test already. He just got here and he was supposed to WHATEVER with his element. It took him hours just to find a good place to do it. Brady closed his eyes tight as he sat cross-legged at the bank of a pond. He heard the soft croak of frogs, smelled the murky, but peaceful water, and felt the light wind race past him from his left. He was completely in his element... So why couldn't he sit still?!

"Ugh, this is so dumb!" Brady shouted to the sky. "Come on, WATER! WATER! WATER!" He tried various hand symbols and movements, but there was nothing. He stopped when he notices a frog, staring at him. "What're YOU lookin' at?" Brady asked, staring right back at the frog with a scowl. He just kept staring... Staring. He and the frog, and before he knew it, Brady felt his mind blanking. He felt calmer. If but determined to show the frog who the REAL prince of the pond was, Brady felt a click in him somewhere he had never felt before... The frog wasn't even there anymore. Brady just looked on, completely in a trance state, mentally holding onto dear life of whatever clicked just now.

Craven stared down one of the teachers monitoring the test. They were the least of his concern at this point. His magick apparently was stunted by this world and that displeased him greatly. Laying himself across the floor near the back wall he sighed. His fingers lacing behind his head as he closed his eyes. How had he first learned magick? Focus, direction... power. So that meant that the key to this was focus. Now where should he focus his mind. Focus it on ripping out the throat of the teacher that was picking at their nails leaving a disgustingly noisily click on the air that irked him beyond all repair. Lashing his foot out he kicked the person's knee hard enough to knock them off balance. "Unlike you some of us actually would like some silence..."

Focus... Blood... Focus... Death rattle... Focus... Everything faded away. The light. The noise... Even the sound of his own breathing slowly faded into bleak nothingness. His world was that of decay and death. There was nothing on that barren land. And there was nothing right here. In his mind's eye he saw an endless barren wasteland stretching out before him. Crippled plants and rotting flesh clinging to aging yellow bones. Not even bugs skittered across this ground. Barren beyond reprehension. This felt like home. This felt like calm. This was something he could easily live with.

In reality he was slowly raising his hand above his body. Fingers stretching out towards the ceiling as his chest would slowly rise and fall. Eyes closed with his features deathly calm as the tips of his fingers would begin to pale, black wisps beginning to crawl from his skin. The semblance of smoke and power seemed to fidget hungrily as it pulled itself from the skin of it's captor. As each moment passed the students power seemed to grow... Slowly... Surely... Hungry...

Verta Sans
Location:Test Room 4 Feelings:Worried Thoughts:Empty your mind...

Verta sat quietly in one of the plethora of classrooms throughout the building. He was told of this test a little while back and had expected a pen and paper exam like what he was accustomed to back home. This was quite different though. Seclusion, aside from two of the teachers, and an oddly empty desk. He kept trying to keep his thoughts together and yet they kept drifting. Something was pushing its way into his mind and he couldn't get it to leave.

The teachers just sat and stared at him from the front of the room. What the hell am I supposed to do? Desperation was becoming evident in Verta's body. He usually handled stress very well, but this was just weird. Almost defeated, he closed his eyes and set his head against the desk when suddenly everything cleared. His mind went blank but he could feel something changing in him.

Breathe... just breathe

It was the key to meditation, right? Breathing? Corena concentrated on the air moving in and out of her lungs. Only once before had she been able to make contact with magic and she wasn't entirely sure what she did. There was just a feeling. The girl closed her eyes tight as she forced air into her expanding lungs and then back out. It was hard to not hear the breathing of the others in the room as well. Why were they so loud?

The girl shifted on the floor and went back to breathing. It seemed the more she focused on it, the harder it was to only think about breathing. Why was that? Focus, focus, think of nothing. What does nothing feel like? Suddenly, she felt it. The nothingness the preceded magic. It was a calmness that filled her. In her mind's eye she turned around in the vast emptiness of that nothing.

"Hello?" Did she say it only in the void or would the testers hear? She didn't care at this point. Corena had to call magic to her.

...Are you there?

"Magic? Are you there?" Corena moved through the void... or did the void move around her? The girl couldn't tell. All she knew was that she was searching. Time seemed to drag on as Cornea looked for magic. Just as she wondered how long the testers would wait for her to complete her test, she spotted it.

In the distance there was something moving, something golden and bright. Excitedly, Corena clapped her hands and then waved. "Over here! Over here!' Her soft and gentle voice echoed in the void and the golden object came closer and closer. What it was, no one could describe. It was a color, not quite a light. It was formless while holding a specific form that one could recognize one second then quickly forgot in the next. This was her aura and it was beautiful. Corena opened her arms and welcomed the aura into her.

Magic!

Corena's brown eyes opened and looked to the testers. She now knew what her element was and it was good. The girl's hand began to glow a soft yellow as she called upon her magic. Through the window of the test room a small bird flew... well barely flew. It flapped its wings as hard as it could to keep itself in the air. It couldn't make it and dove towards the floor. Corena jumped forward and caught the poor thing.

"It will be alright now." She whispered to the bird. As it rested in her hand, it panted and squeaked softly up at Corena. The girl could understand the bird as it explained how it was injured. Corena's hands glowed again as her magic entered the bird and began to heal it. Sweat broke out on the girl's forehead as her energy was passed. Finally, the glow eased and the bird tested its wing. Finding it pain free, the bird nuzzled its head against Corena's cheek before jumping and flying off.

Finally, Corena looked up at the testers to see them writing things down. They motioned for her to step out of the room and wait for their verdict.

Verta Sans
Location:His own mind Feelings:Confused Thoughts:What is that thing?

An image came into his mind. A quiet breeze flowing over the top of a pond. Wait, that was the pond outside. The wind rustled the leaves of the trees, bent the grass ever so slightly, rippled the pond. A creature began to manifest itself above the lake. Verta didn't feel like he was there, he felt like this place was him.

The creature stared off into the distance, not really focusing on anything, but yet seeing everything. It was controlling the wind. Somehow Verta just knew that it was. Pushing past that, he attempting to investigate more of what was going on here. There wasn't much else to see, just the single scene and the strange creature. Then, suddenly, Verta had another epiphany, he was the creature, he was controlling this place.

Location:Test Room 4 Feelings:Excitement Thoughts:Did I really just...

He jerked back to reality in a cold sweat and to heavy breathing. The teachers simply nodded at him and moved out of the room leaving Verta to his own thoughts. Can I...control it? Raising a tentative hand, he attempted to pull air into a small ball above it. His hair ruffled a bit and a small, super-ball sized sphere appeared but only momentarily before vanishing. Holy...s**t...

Verta stared at his hand for a while, dumbfounded by what he'd just done. So that thing was me. I was the creature in my mind. No, wait, that was a manifestation of the magic within me. Standing was no easy task after what he'd just gone through, but he managed to force himself to do so. He stumbled from the room and stood by the door, leaning against the wall and breathing deeply.

Craven's lips parted quietly as the black smoke seemed to just ooze from his skin like a hungry beast. His skin becoming pale under it's brush and his breathing shallow as his eyes seemed to roll back beneath their lids. Within his minds eyes things were becoming a bit more violent. The darkness was crashing down around him. Hungry like an animal shadow creatures seemed to claw and snarl at him silently as they circled about.

This was about control... Dominance... Showing his magick that he was it's God. They couldn't harm him unless he wanted them to. Turning his eyes he spotted the pedestal that held an orb of smoke. It's aura dense and vile. The blackish grey was oozing around it. It's aura was enough to bring a smile o his lips as he strode past the creatures managing to bump into several that dissipated the moment they came into contact with him. His hand reaching out for a moment he paused before shoving his hand into the orb.

His eyes bleeding from their natural blue to a deep black as the ink like color spread throughout his entire eye. Power... He could almost drink it down as the orbs smoke slowly crawled up his arm like a parasite devouring it's prey. His body drinking down it's power, mingling dangerously fast as his body jerked in the real world. Chest heaving as his skins color returned to normal. The black smoke creeping downwards toward his elbow encasing the entirety of this part of his arm.

"Ribbit."

...

"Ribbit."

...

"How long are you going to stare at me?"

"!..." Brady leaned in a little. "You're talking. You're a talking frog."

"So are you," the frog replied, "Well, when you are, in fact, a frog."

"Wuh... YEA but..."

"Do you really expect to pass this test by staring at me?"

"H-ow do you know about the test?"

The frog changed its footing. "I am your mentor, of course. I took the form you are most comfortable with, to help you gain your power."

"Shapeshifter?"

"Illusion."

"Oh so I'm just staring at nothing!" Brady called out frustrated, about to break his stare.

"No!" The frog croaked, and Brady kept looking on. "Do not brake the meditation. Grasp it. Feel it."

"Grasp what? Feel WHAT? What am I looking for?!"

"For your aura, Brady Long. You'll know if you just relax for a minute."

Brady sighed quite irritatedly. "Jeez..." Brady looked on, and he wondered why he never had to blink. Still, he just kept looking on...

The frog looked at him, no longer talking. Brady started to wonder if he imagined it. He didn't know how long he sat there. The pond was peaceful, still... Quiet. This wasn't SO bad. In fact, it was kinda... Kinda cool. Alright, this wasn't the WORST thing in the world. He felt calm, rooted, warm...

It came from his chest. A light glow. Then it grew bigger. Brady looked down cautiously. The frog had faded, and the ground, and the pond... "What is this?" Brady tried to grasp the bright light. The bright green light. And getting greener. "Is this... Wow."
PostPosted: Sun Dec 02, 2012 5:58 pm

Brady opened his eyes. He didn't even know they were closed. "I... What just happened?"

"You awoke your aura," A voice said behind him, and Brady turned around so fast he almost fell into the pond.

"Frog!" He shouted before having turned his head and spotted, instead, a long-haired woman with dark skin and pointed ears. She looked graceful, gentle, radiant and... Long hair.

"...Woah."

"Try it out," she said to him.

"Wuh?"

The woman gestured to him and tried to pantomime power. "Try out your power."

"...OH! Well yea, sure, no problem." Brady stood up and cracked his knuckles, throwing out his hand and shouting, "WATER!"

There was a large splash behind him and he turned around, backing up quickly, "OH MY ALMIGHTY!"

The woman giggled, making Brady feel embarrassed, but a little accomplished that he made a girl laugh. Score one for Brady. Even if this woman was a teacher so is probably like... Really old. "So I pass? I pass, right?"

"You'll be given your results soon," She replied, giving him a nod. "Welcome to the Academy, Mr. Long."

Damian Smith

Damian sat in the desk in one of the classrooms he presumed that no one else except the teachers were in the room though he didn't look around he kept a dead glare at one of the teachers reading trying to judge him eventually he gave up he couldn't read anything off his stone cold expression this is useless... he thought. Damian was fed up with him Damian figured they might want a demonstration of his magic Damian doubted he could do anything more than a simple match could do

"i guess i'll try anyways" Damian muttered and tried to summon the power that saved his neck awhile ago Damian started the attempt but nothing happened "come on" he muttered ok concentrate on this... Damian closed his eyes all his focus went to finding the power lost within himhe started concentrating so hard that a branch that snapped just outside the window made him jump focus Damian went back to his search for his power he became so focused again that he didn't notice his hand catch fire

[C]elestria [L]uck

July 7thxx{>Apprentice<}xxTwenty

Here she was again. Test room seven. A room she knew oh too well from previous experiences. Slowly, her chest would rise and fall with each breath that would escape. Her heart was beating quite fast; she was nervous, unsure of what the results would be today. Apprentice rank is something she should not be holding onto after being here for seven long years. But, deep down inside, she knows her luck would change. She will succeed in gaining a new rank and leaving behind the title 'Apprentice'. Today, she was able to speak with her mother. Their conversation ended on good terms as opposed to bad which usually resulted in her failures countless times before. Celestria has grown, learned from her past mistakes and now knows what is needed to gain what she has been longing.

It was time. Rising her hands in front of her chest, her fingers would intertwine with one another, locking into place as she held them close to her. Her head lowering to where her laced fists would hide away her lips and chin as her eyelids would close. She would need to calm herself. Relax....breathe....empty your mind.

With every slow breath, her heartbeat would return to normal. Everything was beginning to fade into darkness. The lights, the various sounds that would emit from the teachers, the thumping of her own heart slowly became mute. Here she was again. In a place void of everything; a place where she could find peace within herself. The place...where she was able to unlock her three elements over the course of seven years.

'I will pass.'

[C]elestria [L]uck

July 7thxx{>Apprentice<}xxTwenty

Endless. Timeless. This place could go on forever yet time had no residence here. It seemed like ages has passed since Celestria entered into this place. Then, without warning, there was a bright, blinding light that enveloped her; swallowing her whole until...she could feel the soft caress of the breeze against her skin. The beautiful green sky and black clouds. She was...home. This was Fortune. Her homeworld always brought her peace. "I really am homesick..." With a sad smirk, Celestria would raise her head, staring up at the sky of her homeworld.

However, she could hear the faint sounds of...crying. Who could possibly be crying? It was coming from the meadows, on top of a large hill. A place she made her secret place since no one ever came there. Climbing, Celestria could see someone; this person was small, a child. But, she knew this child. This child...was her.

The first time she came here, this did surprise her. Meeting the child in her was how she was able to connect. Smiling, she knelt down to place a hand onto the child's head, softly stroking. "There, there. No need to cry. Wipe those tears away. Tell me, why are you crying?" The child sniffled, turning to face Celestria with a blank face. It was strange, Celestria knew this was her but, the child had no face. It was a bit creepy. 'Cause I can't fly. Everyone else can but, I can't. I want to fly too.' The child looked to her small wings, sniffing as Celestria started to help the child onto her feet.

"Is that all? Come on. I'll help you to fly. Then you won't ever have to shed another tear." Taking the child's hand into her own, Celestria sprawled out her wings after they came out of hiding. Tilting her head back, she could feel the wind rushing pass her, stroking each of her feathers as the child did the same. With a big, powerful flap, Celestria as well as the child started to leviate off from the ground. With multiple flaps afterwards, the two took to the sky.

Flying was such a wondrous feeling. The wind blowing through your hair and feathers. Oh, it was the best feeling in the world. Celestria loved it. Once they were above the clouds, she started to let go of the child's hand, so she too would be able to fly on her own. At first, she fell beneath one of the clouds but, shot out from another one nearby as she did circles and loops around Celestria. "Yeah...there you go. Now you're getting the hang of it!" Laughing, Celestria held her arms out towards the child. Who, in return, flew into her arms, hugging her close as a pale violet red glow was starting to radiate off from her. It was warm, inviting, beautiful, affectionate. This was her aura.

'Thank you.'
