Taking a seat against a wall next to a small circular table, Anberlin peered over to the counter from where the sweet aroma of coffee wafted over. Realizing the enormous size of the line of customers however, Ann decided to wait for the rush of people to calm down before ordering. Once settled, Anberlin took a gentle swing and placed her backpack on to the table, she then proceeded to take a couple glances around the room looking for familiar faces.

Why are you looking at me?

[Asigawa Marenei]

When the meek soul of a girl refused to respond to her and remain safe in her fantastical world, Tink just decided to shrug the almost fascinating encounter off and go study elsewhere. Now that she thought on it, a coffee shop was the most appealing place to go to study (besides a library or the quiet of one's dorm [depending on the roommates, of course]), so off she went to the local coffee shop down in the village. Once Tink arrived at said coffee shop, she immediately jerked her head every-which-way to get a good idea of the kinds of people that were currently there: a couple old timers reading the newspaper, some business men on Macs, groups of women having social outings, and then the rare students that chose to go there to grab a quick drink.

However, it was the curious female student that seemed to be looking for some attention, anyone really to keep her from being lonely. Well, Tink was just that person today for the normally shy nerd had run into so many encounters in just one day, that she had been able to break out of her little shell for a while. So, clutching her messenger bag tight to her waist, Tink took precarious, bouncy steps toward the taller female and offered her a sweet smile before speaking out. "Hello there~! Your uniform gives me the impression that you go to the same Academy as I, correct?" Tink crossed her fingers behind her back in hope, rocking back-and-forth on the heels of her shoes as she gave the girl in front of her another quick once-over.

Well, whatever the reason, I hope it's not because you want to stalk me, you creep!

After glancing around the room filled with unfamiliar faces, Anberlin slouched back in her chair while releasing an empty sigh. No one.
"Ughhhh," she moaned to herself, "Why does nothing exciting ever happen to me?"
Peering a few times around the room again, Anberlin went back to her backpack resting on the small wooden circle. Reaching in, she then produced a gleaming black laptop and placed it in front of her. Once she had pressed down onto the power button and watched the screen jump to life, her eyes then wandered around the room again by force of habit as if someone new would suddenly materialize in front of her.
And someone did.
A tiny girl, seemingly a couple years younger than herself, smiled towards Ann.
"Hey," Anberlin grinned back, "I do believe we go the same school." Ann wasn't quite sure, but she thought she could recall seeing the small girl scuffling around before.
"I'm Anberlin, but you can just call me Ann," she continued while brushing a loose hair behind her ear, "And you?" With a light smirk Anberlin found herself happy to no longer sit alone.

"Oh my gosh, that is such an adorable name!" Tink perked up and clapped her hands together, her small smile blossoming into a wide grin to express her joy. However, she ended up puffing up her cheeks and knitting her brows when she thought of her own, more unfortunate name. "Eh-heh, mine isn't nearly as adorable as yours, so I'd rather you call me 'Tink' just like how you prefer the nickname Ann, but my real name happens to be 'Asigawa,' as uncute as that is," Tink gave a timid smile then, feeling a little awkward. "Anyways! What brings you here to this bustling coffee shop of...er, mostly estranged men?" If she could turn green in the face, Tink would have at that moment upon thinking of the major personality that most men held in the world, which still disgusted her to no end. Fortunately, she managed to perk up again when a bright screen light ceased her attention, and she peered around the taller girl with a curious spark in her eyes. "Oh wow! What kind of laptop you got here, and what were you planning on doing?" Tink didn't mean to appear nosy, but she was just itching to learn things that day for some reason.

"Hahaaa, thank you," Anberlin replied with a smile. Taking a quick glance up and down the small girl, it seemed as if she produced a glow, almost as if she were the sun's last ray dancing over a darkening sky. It wasn't simply her appearance however. Her outgoing personality bursted with light and lit up Anberlin's morning.
Much to Ann's displeasure however, the girl's bright veneer slowly chipped away as her eyebrows sunk with discomfort. Introducing herself first as "Tink", the girl then revealed her real name, "Asigawa", with a tone of embarrassment. Anberlin's eyebrows dipped slightly as she wondered why the girl would be so uncomfortable with such a pretty name. Caught up in thought, Anberlin opened her mouth to reply, but then shrunk down, not wanting to make an awkward moment in resurfacing the topic of a name the girl clearly disliked.
Tink then continued to make a comment which completely threw Anberlin off the idea she had formed in her mind for the small girl. Anberlin wasn't particularly offended but instead found herself wondering what in the world led Tink to lump every man in the room under the descriptive title of "estranged". Ann had met her fair share of guys, and while some were admittedly jerks, most were genuinely kind, at least for the most part. Instead of continuing to ponder the thought however, Anberlin simply smiled and found herself once again comforted by Tink's glow as the tiny girl's face lit up with excitement.
"This is just your'e standard Dell," Anberlin smiled in repliance to Tink's question, "And i was probably just going to study for Math....but ehhhh, my math skills are borderline pathetic, so maybe not." With a slight laugh Anberlin slouched back in her chair and asked, "Would you like to take a seat? I'm just waiting for the line to settle down before I get up."

Flashing back to her previous study session on the roof, Tink almost forgot that she had literally just been studying to her AP Calculus I text book. "Um, I can help you study math if you'd like, I mean–" she cut herself off when the girl offered for her to sit by her, and then nodded curtly. "Oh sure! I mean, that would be splendid, heehee!" she giggled and took the seat beside Anberlin, broad smile as evident as ever. "Lines can get quite long, and that is pretty long, so you have the right idea waiting it out. However, it might grow if we wait too long," Tink's smile faltered slightly when she thought about such a scenario. She did kind of want a bubble tea. Badly. "Anyways!" she bounced in her seat and perked up again, looking over at Anberlin's Dell again. "I don't mean to brag, but I am pretty swell at math. Actually, it's kind of my favorite subject, eheh heh heh?" she scratched at the side of her head in slight embarrassment for being such a nerd. Way to out yourself, Tink, she thought to herself.

As Tink took a seat accompanying Anberlin at the little table, Anberlin stole a few short glances up towards the line. Although it had died down slightly, the line still stretched about halfway across the room. Reaching down and holding her belly for a second, a timid growl met Anberlin's fingertips.
"Hmm," Ann started, shaking off the hunger and reaching for her backpack, "Your'e probably right, maybe I should hop in line sometime soon, mmm, did you want anything?"
After pulling a small notepad and pencil from the center pocket of her bag, Ann then directed her attention towards the computer, clicking a file and opening a digital textbook, the whole time shifting her eyes between Tink and her schoolwork. "Don't think I'm lame," Anberlin then replied to Tink with an embarrassed expression, "but I'm like really, really, like really stinking horrible at Math, its kind of like my sworn enemy," she finished with a grin. "Im only in Algebra II, and what, your'e probably in like Calculus level five hundred or something?" As a slight laugh escaped her lips, Anberlin found herself scratching the back of her head with a hint of embarrassment running across her face. "I don't know, i think i'm doomed when it comes to Math."

Being that Anberlin was looking at he line now, Tink found herself following her gaze and blinked a few times. Well, at least it was a little better now. "Oh! I was planning on going up with you, yeah, though someone needs to watch your laptop now, heehee~" She shrugged and put her knees together, kicking her feet out and under her chair. The girl just always had to be moving. Unless she was sleeping, of course. That would be silly.

"Oh no! I don't think you're lame! Everybody has trouble with something!" she beamed again and removed her messenger bag in favor of placing it atop the table. "To be honest," she paused and glanced around her, speaking in a whisper. "I'm really bad with sports and let's just say that history isn't my best subject, either. All the event memorization is so confusing sometimes! I'd rather just memorize an equation and solve a complex problem than commit so many unnecessary dates to memory!" Tink giggled and sat straight up, arms crossed in her lap. "Shall we go up now, then?"
