Just beyond the rock lined ridge, over boulders and ancient cairns; wild forests stretch across an expanse of land, where the sea laps against the rocky shores. This is the last of a wild world, where beast roam, monsters await the unwary, twisted trees house the creatures of the fey and deep mountains hold treasures untold.
A land of wonder, when humans came to it, they were astounded at the fertility of the land, but all of it wasn't uninhabited. Trolls, Orcs, Goblins and Elves all had their own territories, and they began to war with the puny humans. The humans though held their own, having perfected weapons and mass numbers, and eventually, after the smoke and the ashes fell away, the humans had settled a small region by the coast, leaving the rest of the land to tangle into it's self,the creatures looking from a safe distance.
The human kings, the Lion Hearts, on occasion would try and expand their holding, burning forests back to form small craggy farms on the outskirts. In the trees though, eyes would always be watching the humans as they went about conquering the land with their tools as they took it from the natives.
And time passed this way, for three hundred years as the humans expanded; but on the edges, by a rolling river, there was a village of a different sort. The Huldra clan had found a haven nestled in a small valley where humans were only spoke of in whisper as you see, monsters are not always the same depending on who you ask. Gathering herbs on the side of the river, and hunting the game; the trolls lead a some what peaceful life, raising their young to be large and strong, practicing the warring arts, as the drums of the trolls rolled across the hills, telling the news of other clans and settlements, of the battles with the encroaching humans.
