Hey, I guess I am being a little naive, but why don't we set up smaller advertising thread about our upcoming Christmas event, the Four Colors, and whatever other role-plays are being planned? We could set up a description about what the roleplay is about, and say it's a walk in roleplay?

I think that's an excellent idea! We were talking about starting a new walk-in roleplay in the advertising committee, and I think that would be a perfect venue to get random people in!

I'm just worried about Gaia's forum rules, and TOS. Chatterbox is basically a catch all, so I doubt they would get upset at us for having a roleplay there. And, if they don't like where it's placed, they can just move it! It's that simple! They're not going to brandish the ban hammer because of one misplaced thread, though it might not hurt to check the CB rules before posting something.

I'm a little hesitant about posting a thread in the CB, mainly because not many will RP in it.
The CB is mainly for random, fast-moving and fast-dying thread with spam and chat and whatnot.
Kinda like the Halloween subforum this year. We got a few people, but mostly people bumping to energy and not actually contributing.
And it's even worse in the CB, because you have a few trollers, too.
Don't get me wrong, some people in the CB will actually try this, but I think most won't.
It's actually been debated about putting a host club thread in the CB to attract more people and get more traffic in the thread, but it was eventually decided we won't because of the spam we might get.
Plus, we'd have to mad bump the thread to keep it on the front page for even a few minutes.
I'm not completely against it, but the CB might not be the (stereotypically) type of people we want to advertise with.
Okay, that was my two cents. xD

Well, also consider this: When we have a ball, we typically attract the type that would hangout in the CB to a much greater extent than we do the diehard, seasoned roleplayers. Also, since they thread jump so often, we might be better able to get them to jump into the RP more readily in the CB than if it were in Barton Town. People in the roleplaying forums tend to find an RP, usually through friends or other referrals, and then stick to it. I'm not sure how many people actually go through the list of RPs. It seems like most (like me) prefer to just skip around through the Subscribed Threads link. You see what I mean? That's what was going through my mind when the CB was suggested.

I guess that's true.
I sometimes browse Barton Town for new RPs when I get bored and have all the thread dead. ><
But you're right, now that I think about, I rarely got the the actual Barton Town forum unless I want a new RP.
I dunno.

Maybe CB may not be the best place, but what about Heaven? It may be a slower moving thread but the people there are a bit more serious and less spammy/troll-prone

Heaven, aside from being less troll-prone, is better moderated (thus why it's a step up from CB). So if you stick it there, make double sure they won't kick you out.
