STORY

It has been just over a full century since the passing of the five Gundam pilots. While true peace has yet to be attained, the horrors of the past wars are long since passed. The Earth Sphere Unified Nation, the governing alliance between Earth and the Colonies, have outlawed the use and productions of mobile suits. This hasn't stopped violence completely of course, but it has lessened considerably over the years. Following these new laws some organizations have gone into hiding to protect themselves from the changing times.

The Maganac Corps have taken refuge in the deserts of the Middle East and northern Africa, emerging only when necessary to put down local warlords who are out of control. Even White Fang has dropped off the radar, though it is believed that they still hold strong points on Earth as well as in Space. Perhaps the most interesting development would be OZ's resurrection, though. For a time the shattered remnants of the military faction had kept quiet, very rarely exposing themselves to the media if they could help it. Recently their researchers have been making breakthroughs with the Zero System as well as mobile doll technology. Most of their studies have been gained through aiding feuding third world countries, though seeing a mobile suit amidst the chaotic fighting is still uncommon.

OZ activity has been on the rise as of late, though. Many believe they are up to something. Something big. If White Fang or even the Maganac Corps knows what's going on, they're not saying. The ESUN can only hold their breath as more and more reports of OZ sightings come in. Only time will tell if war will engulf the world once again, baptizing the new generation in its own blood.

RP THUS FAR
(page 1)

'OZ.. What are you up to?' came the man's silent thoughts, as he sat calmly in his office. Dimitri was on the space colony closest to Earth, but that still meant several long hours of travel to get there should his presence be needed. And he suspected that would be soon, if the reports he had been received over the past few months were accurate. Light violet optics scanned the pictures spread out upon his desk; various photos of supposed OZ facilities hiding in plain sight or otherwise, all taken by orbiting satellites. Several pictures even had mobile suits in them. As much as he wanted to go down to Earth and wipe out the known threat the upper echelons of the White Fang wanted to wait for more concrete evidence that OZ really was a credible threat. 'Tch.. Old men and their wars.. OZ, I'll get you yet..'

Off in the Middle East, Rashad was having quite a wonderful time despite the on going conflicts plaguing the region. Sitting happy on a bar stool with a tall glass of beer, he was chatting up the locals and emitting a jovial aura most found hard to resist. Personally, the blond always felt that even in times of war, it was nice to be reminded that there were still some simple joys in life. Like drinking! Slapping the counter top with a hand, Rashad laughed as another man finished telling a story about how he had fallen down on a cactus plant the other day. "My condolences, my good friend! A horrible tragedy indeed! Here, have another round on me!" After paying for the drink, Rashad stumbled outside for a breather, a warm smile on his face. Leaning back against the building with a sigh he looked up at the night sky. "Ach, if only every day could end like this one.."

Cold eyes like frozen amber studied the screen before him, a mass of wires scattered on the floor like snakes rising up to wrap like a lover’s embrace around a small figure with blue black hair. His body rested in a cushion chair reclined backwards, cupping his slim frame like a mother’s womb. Multiple screens surrounded him, supplying a variety of information and data. He did not move from his seat, not even to lift a hand yet the screens flickered about shifting information about. The main screen shows an army of unmanned dolls one side red the other green, battling out to the death. The red side had the advantage, being quickly then the opposing side which soon met its demise. Behind a long mirror stood a team of scientist and military personally, all chatting about the event unfolding before them, studying the cold calculating boy just beyond the glass.

“Remarkable the response time is all but instantaneous, the fastest reflexes ever recorded. Can he move a MS like this,” a general asked a tall man in glass dressed in a flowing white coat.

“Yes, X13’s physical reflexes are just a fast as his mental ones. His genetic structure is different from us, while our brain decides to do something before doing, his skips this process and literally as the thought crosses his mind, his body is moving.”

The general blinked, “what about decision making? Are you telling me he doesn’t analysis a situation?”

“Oh he does but at such a fast scale its as if he didn’t.”

The general blinked before turning to look back out through the glass at the boy in question who looked at the blank screen as the battle had ended before tilting his head back towards the mirror behind him.

“Are we finished here?” he asked, his voice flat and cold.

“Yes Buchai thats all the simulations for today,” the scientist replied.

Buchai almost bounced out of the chair before remember the wire and tripped falling out of the chair onto the floor in a spilled mess. Buchai laughed nervously.

“Oops!”

The scientist sighed as the General and the rest whom didn’t know the boy stared in struck awe at the sudden change.

“Buchai don’t move the techs will get you untangled.”

“I can do it!” he quirked up.

“NO! Buchai remember last time you tried to untangle yourself?”

Buchai pouted turning pink before giving in, “ok, Dr. Amori.”

The general turned to the doctor, “what is that?”

“That would be the other Buchai.”

“The other?”

“Yes, Buchai has a split personality disorder, probably from the genetic alterations we haven’t found a source yet. Whenever Buchai is in fighting mode as we call it he is a completely different person outside of it. Normally he is a sweet clumsy kid, get him in fighting mode and you’re dealing with a whole new person, a cold unfeeling sadist b@stard.”

The general blinked, “but normally he is like this?”

The doctor sighed, “yes but he knows when to be serious.”

They turned at a sudden yelp as Buchai tried to ‘help’ the techs get him untangle and only ripped out one of the wires from his skin.

The General stared wide eyed at the kind and the scientist didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Buchai obliouse to this thanked the techs for getting him untangled and waved off hands to treat the wound where the wire had been. Buchai sucked on the back of his hand before bouncing out of the room heading to get a meal.

Naneya stood with her back against a crumbling house the sounds of shouts and gun fire echoing through the desert town as two different sides of guerilla soldiers fought each other. Naneya long forgot what she fought for, now it was just survival.

Though her unit was all but dead, only a handful remained pinned in this town unable to get out and regroup with the main force. They were almost out of food and water and ammo for that matter. They had sent out to messagers to get help but they had no way of knowing if they had gotten out alive.

One did however and ran into the Maganac and pleaded their case begging for help as it would take too long to reach the main force for aid.

Though they did not know this Naneya’s unit stood their final ground pinned within the town a mountain wall behind them. She wasn’t stupid she knew they would die today. She might get lucky and be spared for a bed whore if they even realized she was a girl. With her hair chopped short and in men’s BDU it was hard to noticed the soft curves of her woman body and the tightly bond breast.

Still she would stand with her comrades her rifle at ready, she swung fore firing a few shots, smiling at the exclaims of pain telling her she hit her target before hiding behind the house again. She was an excellent shot, being tiny gave her the advantage of slipping through and around the enemy lines getting them from behind before seeking shelter again.

Naneya moved backward and around the said house she had used as a shield it was time to slip forward again and try to give her side the advantage if she could.

She crouched down inside a dark half collapse house when she heard a voice behind her.

“So this is the mouse that has been sneaking into our camp.”

She didn’t have time to react before she found herself pinned to the ground her rifle out of her hands.

“You have been a pain in our @sses boy!!! A slow death waits for you!!”

Naneya was dragged back into their camp, bond, gagged and beaten then tied to a post to wait her death as her comrades were shot down.

"Sir, we've gotten a reading. Multiple heat signatures detected in the Russian tundra," reported the ensign as he stepped into Dimitri's office. "The cold is keeping the heat signatures faint, but we've reason to believe that there is an OZ base near that location."

"Very good.. Prep the shuttle; I'll be leading the investigation personally this time." Dimitri then waved him off before rising from his seat. It had been a while since he had last left this floating tin can. It would be good to stretch his legs. Not to mention some time in his Leo wouldn't hurt either, so long as they got out of the operations area before the ESUN could find the place. An unlikely scenario though. Especially if White Fang had only picked up on the base now.

Thanks to the distance involved, it took several hours for them to reach the airspace above the location they had discovered. Russian nights were never gentle, and the chill was sure to cripple anyone caught outside. Sitting in his mobile suit, with four other Leo's standing behind his, Dimitri scowled at the weather as the shuttle's rear door opened for them.

"Keep it close until we identify a threat. And remember, we need to be out of here within the hour just to be sure the ESUN won't catch us." His instructions were simple and routine, and the other squad members acknowledged them vocally. One by one, the Leos then jumped out from the back of the shuttle. Parachute packs on the back of the mobile suits opened after they passed a certain altitude, providing them with a safe and quiet means of landing. Scanning the terrain below, Dimitri called out to the others. "There's a bunch of buildings several kilometers to the North. We'll make for them after landing."

The battlefield below had already been cleared of any major debris, but there were still bits and pieces left over from the fighting. Spotting the head of a Virgo mobile doll, Dimitri frowned.

"Nice and steady boys. We don't want anyone to know we're here," he warned.

_____________________________________________________

Geez, of all the nights to get called onto an assignment... Poor Rashad had to force himself to vomit to get most of the alcohol out of his system! By the time he had made it back to his mobile suit he had gone through two bottles of water rinsing his mouth. His handheld radio was abuzz as voices communicated back and forth.

"Rashad, where are you?! We aren't going to make it in time!" called out one of the voices.

"I'm in my Maganac and starting it up now! Jamal, Nasir, start heading over there already and make sure they know who they're dealing with! The city's just over the other side of the mountain!" replied Rashad as his mobile suit stepped out from its hangar. Its right hand held an old beam rifle, while its enlarged left hand reflected the moonlight with its chrome surface. The other two Maganac's were similarly equipped, and were already beginning to climb up the mountainside with ease. The town they were in was on the opposite side of the mountain range thankfully, but even Rashad had his doubts about getting there on time.

It was close to a half hour later when the trio of brown mobile suits did descend into the ruined city. From the looks of things the fighting had already stopped for the most part, but there were still small shootouts happening in the more isolated parts of town. All attention was turned towards Rashad and his friends though when their mobile suits came lumbering into sight! Any thoughts of peacefully resolving the situation died when they were shot at by small arms fire. And then the real fight began as the metal giants literally and figuratively crushed the opposition!

Rashad was furious. At the soldiers, and at himself. None was spared as his Maganac charged into the middle of the enemy camp. His mobile suit had almost stepped on a prisoner tied to a pole, but thankfully he had seen the boy in time. Using the mobile suit's large metal claws he picked up a jeep and hurled it into a group of fleeing soldiers before turning his attention to the person tied up next to his Maganac's foot.

"How many more of you are left?" the speakers on his Maganac boomed out, his voice truly concerned and worried. Buchai at in the mess hall surrounded by OZ soldiers who ruffled his hair playfully and joked with him. He ate his food happily as he joked back with men he had known for all his life, and some only for a few months. It was hard not to like Buchai though most hadn’t seen his other side, tales of ti had spread quickly and they tried to keep the small boy happy.

“Buchai how was your test today?” one of them asked, he had only been there for a month and received an elbow in the rib by the soldier next to him who had known Buchai for a long time.

Buchai froze for a moment, his eyes hardening before melting into golden butter, “it went great!! Got tangled in the wires again though. Dr. Amori wasn’t too thrilled about that!”

The tension that has built for the second dropped into laughter which increased when Buchai knocked over his cup. It was customary for something to fall over when Buchai was around. Buchai laughed as well rubbing the back of his head.

“oops sorry!”

“We’re use to it!”

Buchai grinned before yawning, the soldier next to him ruffled his hair, “your done eating right? Go to bed you had a tiring session.”

Buchai nodded rubbing his eyes sleepily before stumbling off the bench and out of the mess hall ignoring the scolding behind him as the one soldier was being reprimanded for almost bring out the other side of Buchai.

Buchai took a quick shower, placed a bandage over the torn skin around the silver disk on the back of his right hand before dropped onto his soft bed. He snuggled under the soft blankets in his blue and white pengiun PJs and slipped into a mind exhausted sleep.

--- --- --- ---

Naneya had listen to the screams of her comrades being butcher, struggling against the ropes that held her arms above her head and on her feet. She spat out the gag and begged for their lives. Her cried and begs her answered with blows to her body.

“You little street rat! You ruined our drinking water! You snuck in with garnades and killed out men! You stole our food! Slipped past out lines and shot us from behind! You’ll know your place before you die! You’ll beg for death when we are done. We’ll skin you alive, cut off your balls and make stew with them then force you to eat it."

And the physical abuse continued as they took out their frustration and anger on her.

Naneya looked up, her vision fading in and out as Mechs suddenly stormed in the soldiers abusing her ran towards the new enemy as the Mechs slide down the mountain, one almost stepping on her but its foot landed about two feet away from her. She looked out onto the town, they would all be dead maybe one or two alive but they would all be dead.

Tears rolled down her dirty, bloody, bruised cheeks before she spoke her voice horse and scratchy, “there was only 20 of us…I don’t know how many are left…”

In the interests of staying hidden Dimitri and his team parked their Leo's a couple miles from the base and continued on foot. Even if there were pieces of mobile dolls where they landed, he wanted to be sure that this was an OZ base before exposing themselves. Sneaking in under the cover of night wasn't very hard. The guards seemed to be way more relaxed than they should be. 'They must have been here a while for them to be so comfortable,' thought Dimitri to himself as they crept around the facilities. The cold air made their breaths visible, but the Lieutenant wasn't bothered in the least. Whoever was running this place was definitely not the ESUN. And the anticipation of finding something big kept him more than willing to brave the elements.

"Sir, it's the Organization of the Zodiac," whispered one of his men after inspecting a guard knocked unconscious. The man tapped on the guard's uniform, indicating the 'OZ' emblem stitched onto the fabric with care. "Christ! How long have they been here?!"

"Why don't we find out?" Using stolen security cards they managed to infiltrate what appeared to be a research center of some kind. Many of the rooms were filled with computers and machines performing who knew what. The place was mostly deserted though, most likely the staff were getting some sleep by now. What few people were around were herded into one room by Dimitri and his men; the tally being three researchers and a security guard.

"You will answer my questions, and do so in a calm and clear manner. Any attempts to escape or stall and you all die. And just to make sure you understand me," At this point Dimitri nodded to one of his men, who shot the guard in the head with a silenced pistol.

"What are you working on here, and how long have you been here?" Dimitri allowed the following silence to exist for only a few seconds before quickly snatching the silenced handgun from his subordinate and stalking towards the scientists. He shot one in the forehead and pressed the elongated barrel of his pistol against the throat of another and pinning the man back against a large machine. "You're stalling.."

"D-Dr. Amori..!" gasped out the researcher. "He's been working on some kind of super soldier here! Buchai! That's all I know, I swe-"

"Not good enough," said Dimitri, cutting the man off and shooting him in the neck. Tossing the man aside he then grabbed the last researcher by his shirt and pulled him in close. Much to his surprise, the name tag on the man's lab coat read 'Dr. Amori.' Eying the man with suspicion, Dimitri pressed for answers. "Doctor, please do explain. Who is this Buchai?"

_____________________________________________________

The prisoner's response did little to lift Rashad's spirits. Watching the monitors in his cockpit he studied the information that scrolled across the screen. Jamal was busy mopping up the rest of the resistance in town. It seemed like Nasir had found someone though. While waiting for his friends to return, Rashad had his Maganac crouch down so he could get out. Once on the ground he approached the beaten prisoner, his handheld radio in one hand.

"Fate smiles upon you, friend. You will live to see another day," Rashad said softly while working to untie the crying youth. "Perhaps this is a sign for you to take up a more peaceful calling, hm?" As he was finishing up his radio buzzed to life on the ground next to them.

"Nasir here. I've found two survivors but.. I do not think they will last long without help." cackled the radio. Picking it up, Rashad replied into it while turning away, keeping his voice down.

"Then we will help them!" he said sternly.

"But what about Dhamar's orders? This is not our fight, Rashad! We cannot get too involved!" the radio replied back.

At that, Rashad fell silent. Orders were orders, but they couldn't just leave these people here in their current condition. He was conflicted on the matter, but time was not a luxury they had.

Dr. Amori (NPC CHARACTER) wanted to kill the researcher himself at having opened his mouth so much. He turned his cold blue eyes to Dimitri.

“You are going to kill me and my staff whether I answer you or not. I will answer you question as long as you spare the women and the children here. Are we in agreement? Good. Buchai is a failed experiment to recreate a better version of the once Gundam pilot Heero Yue. Unfortunately the experiment X13 is too timid and innocent to be of any real use. Currently we are using the experiment for genetic sampling to try the experiment again. First we must understand what went wrong.”

Dr. Amori sighed removing his glasses before glancing at the eyes of death, “its my one regret not to have given Buchai a 15th birthday party, he was quite looking forward to it. He is just a kid, spare him if no one else.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buchai sat up suddenly in his bed, hand clutched to his chest as a heavy pressure compressed making it hard to breath, he panted until the pressure subsided. This wasn’t the first time this had happened. It did time to time. Dr. Amori told him it had to do with his genetic make up and wasn’t life threatening and not to worry about it. However he did, what if this happened during a real battle? Though it only seem to occur at night and had never happened during a simulation it still concerned him.

He sighed he wouldn’t be able to sleep now, he never could once this happened, he was afraid of not being able to breath again. He sighed rubbing his eyes tiredly and decided to find Dr. Amori who always calmed him down then made him a mug of ginger milk to help him sleep again. He was walking out of his room when a glimmer caught his eye, on the desk next to his door was his gun, though he hated the thing.

Dr. Amori was always insistent of him taking it with him everywhere and always scolded him when he didn’t have it. Buchai sighed grabbing his crossed holster and putting it over his white penguin PJ tank top, fitting the gun in the holster. He probably looked ridiculous with the gun over his cute PJs but oh well better then being scolded again. Today had been a huge demonstration for Dr. Amori better to keep him happy, he had to be very stressed out right now.

So with his weapon Buchai left his room, his bare feet padding silently on the cold floor making him wish had put on socks. Dr. Amori would probably scold him about catching cold but he liked to fuss over him so Buchai wasn’t too worried about that scolding.

Buchai arrived at the lower levels for the OZ facility finding it oddly empty, there were normally a few staff members moving about. Buchai shrugged maybe the staff was with Dr. Amori reviewing today’s simulations.

Buchai peeked into Dr. Amori’s office finding it empty, before checking the simulation room also empty.

Buchai entered the simulation room, his fingers tracing over the chair he sat in during the test, his eyes hardened for a few moments, his soft sweet expression shifting into a cold mask, his back straighten slightly taking advantage of his full height.

He made a soft sound of confusion frowning slightly, not noticing the creeping shadow behind him. With a soft sigh his features softened again, his eyes melting into golden sunlight, his shoulders relaxed as he removed his hand from the chair.

(leaving the shadow to you, I figured you’d have some soldier watching the area in case someone showed up)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya felt the ropes come loose from her wrist which were rubbed raw from her weight and attempts to escape, dried blood stained her arms. As the ropes were removed she sank to her knees wincing, her arms wrapped around her waist as she doubled over gasping, she was pretty sure she had a few cracked ribs. Her head lifted slightly to look at the soldier looking down at her. She hated him, while she was grateful for his help, his condendencing arrogant tone made her hate him.

“Peace in this country doesn’t exist you Maganacs should know this well,” she replied harshly before coughing slightly bending over slightly.

Her eyes snapped back up where they stared unfocused on the ground, “save them please! I offer myself in service to the Maganacs in return! I can fight and I can fix mobile suits. I can be of use!"

For a moment, the soldier had to take a second look at what he saw. What was a kid doing here? And wearing a gun holster of all things? At first he was going to let the boy go, but then the kid started to wander deeper into the research center! Silently stalking the youth like a predator waiting to strike, he followed the blue haired kid into a room with thick cables littering the floor, all connecting to a chair of some kind. Thinking they could squeeze some intel out of the unsuspecting teen, the soldier moved forward to capture his quarry.

Strong arms quickly ensnared Buchai, one going around his neck while the other worked to pin the youth's arms down.

"Should'a stayed in bed, kid," whispered the man harshly. "Don't struggle and ya won't get hurt!"

_____________________________________________________

As much as he disliked negotiating with enemies, Dimitri simply nodded at Dr. Amori's proposition. No women and no children? Just what was this place supposed to be? A family center?! When given an explanation though, the White Fang Lieutenant paused in surprise. That didn't last long, though.

"..you bastards are doing genetic research? On kids?!" Still keeping a firm grip on the man's shirt, Dimitri scowled. "Tell me, Doctor. Why should I even let this guinea pig of yours live if you consider him a failure? And why would you even care about his welfare?"

Even Dimitri was having a hard time buying all of this. Never mind the crimes against humanity that were going on here. If this project was allowed to come to fruition, there was no doubt in his mind that OZ would use their pet to wage war against the ESUN! And just like that, all that effort and sacrifice of the older generations would be for nothing! Shoving Dr. Amori back, Dimitri frowned.

"Why is someone of your caliber even working for OZ? You would have been accepted anywhere. Why OZ?" he asked the man firmly.

_____________________________________________________

Rashad pretended not to hear the young soldier's remarks about peace being something non existent. It was a topic he didn't like to think about a lot personally. A lot of people knew that the Maganac Corps presence alone prompted war in some countries, the local governments viewing them as a threat to their rule. Politics was something Rashad understood little of, though in all honesty he hoped to never have to get involved with such shady dealings. He turned his head, looking back at the beat up soldier now. A part of him said not to trust the boy. He looked barely old enough to shave, let alone fix a car! How would he know how to fix a mobile suit? Despite this he could still sympathize with the boy due to his own unfortunate background.

"Your heart is wounded by grief and loss, young one. What you ask.. is not something to be taken lightly." Lowering his radio, Rashad stared intently at the boy. "And a Maganac must never lose hope in returning peace to these troubled lands! We are not warmongers! I will help your friends. For now, counsel yourself over the wisdom of your request. We will discuss it later."

"Well, Rashad? What do we do?" came the buzzing voice from the man's radio.

"Patch them up as best you can. We're taking them with us. I will deal with Dhamar myself. We move out at once," Rashad answered back before attaching his radio to his belt via a clip on the device. Turning his attention to the injured soldier on the ground the man raised a brow. "Do you have any wounds that need immediate care?"

Dr. Amori sighed disregarding the fact that he had been shoved into the wall only a slight wince gave any register to the act, “no not on Kids. X13 is a test tube baby, he belongs to no one. And the reason I care for his life is the fact that part his DNA structure happens to come from me as well as the fact as I raised him. So in a way I am his father. Any father would protect his child. As for why I work here is the fact that the pay and benefits are better then anything I could get anywhere else. Research it a limited field these days, it pays little and it too restricted. I blame the EUSN for that. So many diseases left rampage because they fear the public view of science and the measure that is needed to rid our world of these life killing illness. OZ allows me to conduct medical research with no limitations in exchange on working on this project for them. For the good of the people I accepted.”

Dr. Amori looked into the man’s eyes, “do you know of anyone who has a terminal disease? Family perhaps. If there was a shred of hope for a cure wouldn’t you want it? That is my reason."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Buchai let out a squeak of surprise, squirming and struggling at first until the threat was breathe into his ear. He froze like a deer caught in headlights. His breath came in shallow pants, his thin frame trembled against his captor.

“Who are you?” he asked softly, the trembling in his body evident in his voice.

The soldier didn’t bother to reply merely removing the crossed holster from the body’s frame, shrugged it onto his shoulder before grabbing one of the kid’s arm and twisting it behind him.

Buchai winced as his arm was twisted behind him at a sharp angle, pain radiating up his arm over his shoulder and across his neck, “that hurts!”

The soldier shoved him forward leading him into the room where Dimitri was.

“Found this kid lurking in one of labs, had a gun on him surprisingly though I doubt he knows how to use it. Probably his dad’s.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya growled, “grief and loss is all I have ever know. It is part of my life and soul, it doesn’t affect my mind any longer. I know what I offer. I pay my debts and in this case my debt is one of my life. Again I will work for the Maganac to repay the debt of my life.”

He watched at the man looked away from her to reply into his radio then turn back to her to ask about her injuries.

“The worse seems to be possibility some buried or cracked ribs. They wanted me to suffer not die yet.”

Dimitri couldn't believe what he was hearing. This man was willing to play god and make a tool for war out of his own blood? Just so he could continue his dabbling into science? While the overall goal was respectable, the Doctor's methods were something he had to disagree on completely. He met the man's gaze and arched a brow at the question thrown his way.

"So what if you save a few lives with your medical research? Do you realize what the price is?! How many people will OZ kill? How many people will you kill with your 'son?' No, Dr. Amori. I cannot abide by this!" Raising his pistol, Dimitri prepared to shoot the Doctor when his subordinate came in with Buchai. Turning to get a good look at the kid, Dimitri narrowed his eyes. "..you're joking? This is him? Buchai, right? Tch.. Letting this kid live is unacceptable."

Had X13 been a full grown man, Dimitri would have no qualms about shooting him right here and now. But Buchai's eyes portrayed his innocence. This kid was no killer. "..new deal, Doctor. I refuse to leave anyone alive if you insist on continuing to work under these conditions. However, I will relocate you and Buchai to a White Fang facility should you change your mind. Perhaps then you can carry on with your primary field of expertise unhindered?"

Rashad knew better than to believe the boy on his words, but kept his opinion to himself. They would discuss the matter later once things had settled down. Hearing that the youth had a cracked rib or two, he nodded and climbed back up to the cockpit of his Maganac. The best he could do for now would be to bind his chest. A pity all he had on him right now was duct tape. Well, it would have to do..

"Arms up," he instructed after returning to the teen. Rashad then began to wrap the tape tightly around his patient's torso leaving his clothing on. They didn't have much time to do this properly. "A medic will get a better look at you once we get back to base."

Once he was done Jamal and Nasir were already on their way back to HQ, each mobile suit carefully carrying an injured soldier in one of their hands. Rashad mimicked his teammates, and had the boy ride on his Maganac's hand as well. They traveled parallel to the mountains for a short while making good time with the long strides of their mobile suits. Soon enough a portion of the mountain wall opened up for them, revealing a hidden entrance. Large steel plates lined the walls, floor and ceiling of the complex, and industrial lights dangled from hooks overhead. It wasn't long after that did Naneya and her comrades get dropped off at the medical bay, leaving Rashad and his team to relax for a little bit in the barracks.

"So, who was with you, Rashad?" asked Jamal as they sat in a loose circle on the spread out cots.

"Dunno, some boy who can't even shave yet. Said he wanted to join up with us in payment for helping his friends, too. I'll talk to Dhamar about it once the kid's doing better." Laying back in his cot, Rashad sighed and put both hands beneath his head, looking to get some sleep for now.

“DR. AMORI!!” Buchai exclaimed as he was dragged into the room, seeing the doctor with a gun to his head.

“LET HIM GO!!” Buchai shouted struggling against his captors tears pricking his eyes.

Buchai stopped struggling when the man mentioned killing him and called him Dr. Amori’s son, he gaped in shock and surprise his golden eyes flickering between the two men confused and unsure.

“Buchai behave yourself now, child. I wont let this man kill you,” Dr. Amori scolded.

Buchai blinked and nodded his head, looking meek but upset. The captor cleared his throat in discomfort, his grip on the kid’s arm loosening slightly.

Dr. Amori debated calling out Buchai’s other side but there was a chance that could overwhelm him and then he knew this man would kill him. No, it was best to take up the offer and secure Buchai’s life for now.

“I accept then. Take Buchai and I to this White Fang facility then.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya looked at the duck tape and realized he was going to bind her torso with the duck tape to stabilize her ribs. She rose her arms and winced at the pain but didn’t make a sound as he bound the tape tightly around her BDU.

The fact that was a girl and having a man touch her would bother most but she had spent her life among men, the doctors tending to her wounds without the touch of intimacy.

Beside while normally she would protest at a strange man touching her, she was fully clothe and injured she doubted he had other thoughts on his mind.

Plus the fact she was sure he thought she was a boy. She was happy to allow him the belief for now. It was confirmed when he picked up his radio again.

Naneya clung to the MS’s hand, while she had traveled like this before she always hated it. It was the only time she was terrified of heights. She had been more then glad to be dropped off at the medical bay when they arrived at the hidden Maganac base.

The doctor smiled kindly, “alright lad come this way, I want a good look at ya. Rashad said you too a fair beating. I want to make sure there isn’t any internal bleeding.”

Naneya nodded, slipping into a small private room where a hospital gown laid on a small cot next to it was a ultrasound machine.

The doctor followed behind, “go ahead and change while I set the machine up.”

She took the scissors given to her and cut her BDU top away, slipping into the gown, holding the two folds in front of her. The doctor turned around seeing his patient sitting on the bed holding the gown closed.

“Alright lad lets see.”

Naneya opened the gown and the doctor turned white, “your a girl!”

“Yes, does it make a difference?”

“I was told you were a lad! I would have gotten a female doctor you look you over.”

Naneya tilted her head to the side, “you have one? Hmm it makes no difference to me. Our few medics were all male. As for me being a boy, most of the men in my unit found it uncomfortable to have a female in their ranks despite my abilities. I cut my hair short and dress in men’s clothing. It makes the men around me feel more comfortable.”

The doctor laughed, “I understand. Well let me take a look at ya.”

Twenty minutes passed as the doctor had her lay down to check for internal bleeding finding now, he poked her ribs finding the cracked ones. Order her to get cleaned up before he wrapped her torso. Once cleaned, he bound her from chest to waist and gave her fresh Maganac male BDU to wear then told her to sleep as he attached an IV drip to rehydrate her adding some pain medication into the bag to help her sleep.

“Will you keep my secret?” she asked the doctor who blinked at her.

“I’ll think about it.”

She watched him leave and closed her eyes slipping into darkness.

The Doctor agreed to the terms too hastily for Dimitri's liking. No negotiations of his own this time? No objections? Eying Dr. Amori with suspicion for a moment, Dimitri then nodded. Just because they were taking these people didn't mean that White Fang trusted them. They would be watched, and carefully at that. With a wave of his hand, Buchai was released. "Jackson, dress the boy up in the guard's clothing. He'll freeze to death if he goes outside like that," he said while returning the pistol in his hands to his subordinate. "Dr. Amori? If there is anything you need to take with you get it now. We leave in five minutes. If what you need is outside of this lab then consider it a loss. Sagaria, escort the Doctor around the lab."

He didn't feel the need to warn Dr. Amori what could happen to Buchai if the man tried to escape or warn someone. The situation was very clear, or so he felt. By the time he looked back to Buchai, one of his men was already trying to get a pair of BDU pants up the boy's legs. Stepping up towards the boy, Dimitri firmly cupped the teen's chin in one hand. "You will be coming with us now, X13. Failure to comply will result in the immediate reprimand of Dr. Amori. Is that understood?"

Early in the morning, before even the sun was up, Rashad was already awake. A quick shower and a change of clothes later, and off he went to go check up on the boy he had picked up the night before. Waiting outside of the boy's room was Dhamar, the burly man in charge of this particular base. Rashad gave him a polite nod, but he suspected that the conversation they were about to have would be less than pleasant.

"This better be good, Rashad. You know the rules and agreed to them when you chose to live here," started Dhamar, folding his arms across his chest.

"I know Dhamar, I know. But what was I supposed to do? Leave them out to die? They would have helped us if the roles were reversed." Arching a brow, Rashad frowned. He knew it would come to this.

Dhamar shook his head with a sigh. "You're missing the point! We have to be careful about who we trust now a days! Not everybody wants us around, you know that! The least you could have done is called ahead to verify their identities!"

"They would have died had we waited any longer!" Rashad shouted back.

"People die in wars, Rashad!" came the commander's response. "I don't like it any more than you do. But we have protocols for a reason, dammit!"

Rashad glared at the floor then and there, his expression darkening and fist clenching at his sides.

"We can't save everyone! I know it. You know it. We all know it! The ESUN will wipe us out if they ever found our bases. And then how could we help anyone?!" This time it was Dhamar's turn to raise a brow, as if reminding a child of why they shouldn't do something.

"..is that what was going through your mind when you picked me up off the streets, Dhamar..?" came Rashad's quiet reply. "I will deal with them when the time comes. For now.. I ask that you trust my judgement the way you trusted your own back when I came into the picture."

Dhamar was humbled into silence by Rashad's words, and stood there for a moment brooding. Eventually he just shook his head again and started to wonder off. "Fine, fine.. Do whatever you want, dammit."

Quietly opening the door to Naneya's room, Rashad walked in to check on her medical report. The lights were off in the room, but he could still find his way around thanks to the light coming from the hallway outside. Grabbing a clipboard from a table, he moved back to the doorway to read it. 'Hmph, it's not fully filled out yet.. Doc's slacking..' There was no recorded name, age, or any other personal information about the patient laying in bed. But the medical examination was written down, saying that the patient would just need some rest for now.

Dr. Amori shook his head, “I need nothing from this lab.”

And truly he didn’t, the main information was stored in his head where it was safe from thieves and hackers. He looked over at Buchai who was struggling to get into the BDU. Buchai being naturally clumsy the soldier was having trouble getting him into it as the boy was more of a hinderance then help.

Buchai gasped when the tall white haired man grabbed his chin and for a nano second something flashed in his eyes, so fast more then likely this man wouldn’t notice it or believe it was fear.

Dr. Amori took a sharp intake of breath because he knew what it was. The Other flashing to the surface to view the situation.

“Y-yes,” Buchai stammered and the solider finished dressing him, though he smirked softly as the clothes all but swallowed the boy.

“He’d ready sir, though I’ll have to carry him or he’ll freeze his feet out,” the soldier commented.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya had woken at shouts outside her room, she sat up holding the blanket to her chest, she felt groggy and thick headed, she noted that her IV was gone. Someone must have came in and removed it while she was asleep.

As she focused she realized the argument was about her and the others that soldier had rescued. Apparently someone wasn’t happy about them being there but could understand their concern. She laid back down thinking when her door opened. The room was dark, a splash of light across the floor from the hallway, she walked the soldier walk in.

Naneya stayed still as the man read the chart attached to her bed, she could just make out his face to see he wasn’t very happy.

“It seems bringing us here caused you trouble,” she said, sitting up her voice still slightly horse.

Of course, how could Dimitri know the truth about Buchai's split personality? From what he had been told and seen himself, this child was far too timid to even use the pistol he had been carrying. And so he disregarded the momentary flicker in the teen's eyes. The White Fang officer nodded to the soldier who said he'd carry the boy. They had stayed here long enough he felt, it was time to get a move on. "We're on the move, gentlemen. It's time we got out of here."

Leaving the base was a lot easier than sneaking in. Especially after having gotten rid of some patrolling soldiers earlier. Every half hour Buchai was passed around to a different person to carry him on their back, and with Dr. Amori tagging along their usual pace had slowed down considerably. When they made it back to their mobile suits Dimitri radioed for the shuttle to come pick them up early. He made sure to protect their 'cargo' from the cold winds by having one of the mobile suits form a protective shield for them with its hands. There was no way Dimitri was going to risk having either of the two strangers wait inside one of the cockpits with them. Not until he knew they could be trusted.

The shuttle came for them as scheduled and the group of mobile suits moved on board with Buchai and Dr. Amori on the side. Once the large back door to the craft was closed it took off to carry them back into space. Dimitri had their guests moved to a sealed waiting room and joined them after debriefing his men. Taking a seat on one of the chairs there, he gestured for Dr. Amori and Buchai to do the same. "Doctor.. I'm curious. How far did your experiments go exactly..? Now that we have the time, I'd like to hear about your research in full.."

_____________________________________________________

Rashad's expression lightened as he looked the youth sitting up in bed. With a light chuckle he shrugged his shoulders before looking back to the clipboard. "Nah. Like any family, even the Maganacs argue amongst themselves from time to time," he said quietly. A part of him wanted to ask how much had been overheard, but he decided against asking. "Your report says you'll be fine. I hear your friends will pull through as well." Walking back into the room he returned the clipboard to the table he had found it on. He kept the light off as well, not wanting to blind them both with the sudden flash.

"Sorry to have woken you up, though. If you can, you should go back to sleep, kid. But before that, I believe we still haven't introduced ourselves yet?" He moved next to the bed and held out his hand with a polite smile. "Name's Rashad Auda. I wish we could have met under more pleasant circumstances, but I am glad to see you're doing better."

Buchai didn’t like being carried but with a look from the doctor he didn’t protest, instead he clung to the soldier’s back, his toes curled in tucking his feet into the too long pants to keep them warm once they exited the underground building and into the tundra. He began to shake from cold within minutes. He had never been outside before, his eyes were wide as he drank everything in. He had seen pictures and images on the security screen but he had been forbidden to go outside. He had once or twice when he tried to run away years ago but they were distance memories.

“A-re w-we go-going into s-pace?” Buchai chattered as he was strapped in, his lips were tinted blue and the Doctor brushed off the guards to cover him with his lab jacket.

“Yes, Buchai we are,” Dr. Amori said, his hand laying on Buchai’s forehead to check for fever he was prone to, finding it cool he sighed tucking the jacket around the boy.

“Close your eyes and try to get some sleep Buchai.”

Buchai looked up at the doctor he had known his entire like, fear and uncertainty reflected in the golden pools, a flicker of something underneath, a question. The doctor shook his head before returning to his seat.

Buchai blinked when one of the soldier came up and laid a blanket over him as well and open a thermos.

“Its coffee, its bitter but it will warm you up.”

Buchai blinked up at the soldier, a blush spreading across his cheeks, “I am not allowed coffee.”

The soldier blinked, “huh?”

“Coffee makes him hyper. Unless you want to deal with a restless child for the next several hours go ahead and give it to him. The last time was a disaster,” the doctor explained.

“Oh. Well then its probably best if we didn’t give you coffee then. Well the blanket should warm you up, once we past the atmosphere you can search out on the chairs and sleep kid.”

Buchai smiled shyly and nodded at the soldier who shook his head as if to clear it and moved away, muttering softly something about soft spots.

Dr. Amori sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose, before turning his eyes to soldier. The corner of his eye watching Buchai snuggle into the lab coat and blanket, curling into a ball in his seat, eyes closing, a soft smile played on the doctor’s lips.

“We attempted to heighten mentally and physical reflexes. As you can see and saw when Buchai tried to assist you soldier in dressing him, it failed. It anything it was the reverse. There are a lot of scientist words and facts I can spill out but half you probably wouldn’t understand. How far we attempted well is just that, how far we succeed is another matter. Unfortunately the research is a short story, we thought manipulating certain brain cells and DNA strands that control and develop the mentally and physical reflexes would do the trick. We were proven wrong.”

Buchai opened his eyes to look at Dr. Amori, “I’m sorry.”

Dr. Amori reached out an hand and laid it on Buchai’s head, “I’m not.”

Buchai smiled and re-closed his eyes, his lips starting to turn pink again. Dr. Amori checked his forehead again before removing his hand and turning back to the soldier.

“You know our names but we don’t know your’s.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya smiled softly, shifting so she pulled her knees up enough that she could rest her chin there but not enough to hurt her ribs.

“Its Aziz Naneya,” she introduced herself switching her names around taking his hand into her's, making sure her grip was firm and strong before releasing it.

“Circumstances are as they are and thank you.”

Naneya studied the man, he was quite handsome though definitely much older then her mid twenties at least. She was surprised by his blond hair and wondered if it was dyed. She only saw brown or black hair men in her life though she had seen photos of blond hair. She wanted to touch it to see if it was real but kept her hands in her lap.

Dimitri took no issue to Buchai trying to get some shuteye. In fact, he had almost expected it after dragging the teen through the Russian tundra. His calculating gaze bounced back and forth between Dr. Amori and Buchai as everything was explained in a manner that would allow him to understand the very basics of this Heero Yue project. He still had his suspicions after, and suspected that not the entire truth was being revealed. When asked for his name, Dimitri nodded and conceded the man's point.

"I am Lieutenant Dimitri Solomon. A White Fang operative as you already know. I appreciate your candor with me thus far, Dr. Amori. But there is still something troubling me." Leaning back in his seat, the man rested his elbows on the arm rests and raised both forearms to drum the tips of his fingers together. "When we landed, we found traces of Virgo mobile dolls littering the tundra. Questioning the use of such equipment would be hypocritical, but I do have to wonder.. Just what were you all doing aside from managing X13?"

_____________________________________________________

He nodded at Aziz's thanks. Seeing that the boy's eyes focused on the top of his head, Rashad allowed a knowing smile to crease his lips. "My father was a businessman from Europe," he explained while placing his hands in the pockets of his pants. "Came down to the Middle East to seek his fortunes. He found more than he had bargained for, heh. I take after him for the most part, but standing out doesn't really bother me. The ladies really like it, haha!" A playful smile stretched his lips and the man shrugged sheepishly.

"How are you feeling though? You certainly look a lot better now that you've been cleaned up a bit, Aziz" Of course anyone would look like hell if they had the tar beaten out of them, but Rashad was just trying to be friendly.

Dr. Amori nodded his blue eyes moving to Buchai whose breath had evened out to that of sleep, “You are doing your job and I mine. When you think about it we are only enemies because we work for two opposite sides yet they sit on the same coin. You spared the boy and for that you have my thanks. As for the dolls that is not my department. However I will tell you what I know. My understand is that the boy was suppose to lead a unit of trained unmanned and manned MSs pilots. Those dolls are from excises by the soldiers stationed at the base. While the boy was a failure, the soldiers are still trained.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya grinned, “I am sure they do. They always like something different and exotic.”

She blushed slightly, feeling her cheeks burn under the scatter bruises. She knew she looked better now that she was clean but bruises and cutes lined her face and body.

“I feel alright, though if I am resisted to bed rest I will lose my mind. I’d like to walk around for a bit. The doctor gave me some medication for pain and its making my feel groggy. I don’t like it. I think walking might help clear my head some."

Dimitri didn't comment on Dr. Amori's coin analogy. It was true, he couldn't deny it. Good and evil were just words tossed around by politicians who knew nothing of the horrors of war. Of course, being the outstanding little soldier he was, Dimitri usually didn't allow himself to think about such things. So one can guess that he was glad the conversation shifted on to business. He didn't like the sound of having trained pilots who could take on Virgos head to head. That was way over Dimitri's level of skill, especially since he had only fought mobile dolls in simulation programs.

"..I see. That is interesting information indeed. I don't suppose there is anything else that I should know about, Dr. Amori? If your loyalty lies with your research, then I am fine with that. But I'm sure OZ will want its toy soldier back. Convince me that I will not find a gun at my back when I do go out to meet your would be saviors.." It was a concern that needed to be addressed sooner than later. And if these two people couldn't be trusted, Dimitri wanted to know now before they could run rampant within a space colony.

_____________________________________________________

The older man nodded, understanding the cabin fever effect Aziz was feeling. Living under a mountain could do that to you. Being stuck in bed with an injury was just the same too. "Alright then. C'mon, I'll walk with you." Rashad held out his hand to help Aziz up from the bed. "Maybe some food and water will help you get back on your feet too, huh?" The cafeteria wasn't that far, but this early in the morning would mean there wouldn't be much of a selection. Not that there ever was in a military base, mind you.

Dr. Amori nodded crossing his legs frowning at the damp hem of his black slacks which clung to chillingly to his skin, “I can understand your concern. OZ will not know it was your organization that took us. For all they know I took the boy and ran. While I believe they will go looking for us, they have no reason to look your way.”

And this Dr. Amori truly believe but what he didn’t know is when Buchai was ten and Dr. Amori was away on business for OZ, Buchai had been drugged in his sleep and a tracking device inserted under his skin just above his right pelvic bone. Dr. Amori had continually waved off the tracking device as redundant and not needed. This caused OZ to be suspicious for a while and as a extra precaution had the device insert without Dr. Amori’s or Buchai’s knowledge.

Buchai murmured something in his sleep about kitties, shifting slightly one hand fell off his lap his blue-black hair shifting slightly as well, something glimmered on the back of his hand and at his right temple underneath the fringes from the lights in the shuttle.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya smiled pushing her hair from her face before taking the offered hand and standing up, She wince as pain shot through her rib cage.

She gasped, one arm clutching her chest bending over slightly, “ow that hurt. I’m ok, just shifted wrong.”

Naneya stood as straight as she could grimacing slightly before giving him her unsure but game smile, “food sound good.”

She slipped her feet into her combat boots not bothering with the laces, it would hurt too much to bend over anyways and it wasn’t like she was going far. Her dark green eyes studied Rashad, as she waited for him to lead the way. She went slightly disoriented and she didn’t like

"..the mess we left back there could hardly have been done by one man alone, Dr. Amori. All I need to know is that I can count on you not to turn on me when the shooting does start." With that being said, Dimitri turned his gaze to OZ's experimental failure. He was slightly disturbed to see the connecting ports for electrical equipment dotting the boy's body, but his expression remained neutral. "For the time being you two will be kept under close surveillance. For everyone's safety."

Many possibilities were going through his mind. It was clear that he had to remove X13 from OZ's custody, but what should do with the boy now? What would White Fang do with the boy, more importantly? Truth be told Dimitri didn't like any of the conclusions he came to. So long as X13 lived, he was a liability. In the end, someone would want to use the boy for no good. "How far has his pilot training progressed?" he asked calmly.

_____________________________________________________

"Whoa, easy now," cautioned Rashad as Aziz gasped in pain. "Don't want you hurting yourself just when you started to get back on your feet!" Being taller than the younger male, he simply held onto Aziz's arm near his shoulder to help steady the boy. He couldn't just throw Aziz's arm over his shoulder; doing so would lift the poor boy off the ground and hurt him even more! Slowly but surely they moved out into the light of the hallway. There, he got a better look at Aziz and smirked. "Hey now, you might give me a run for my money with those emerald eyes of yours! I bet you get a lot of attention yourself, huh?"

The colors of the Maganacs uniform suited Aziz, but Rashad kept the thought to himself. They still had to talk about the boy wanting to serve with them. And he still felt that Aziz hadn't fully thought the matter over yet. They took their time on their way to the cafeteria. Rashad didn't want to rush the injured boy after all. When they did reach the large room though hardly anyone was in it. There were a few soldiers playing with a deck of cards, and some people actually eating a late meal while talking amongst themselves. "Here, have a seat. I'll go get you something," he said, helping Aziz to ease down onto a chair. "A bit of warm stew ought'a help you feel better."

Dr. Amori smiled, “I might be a doctor but I do not lack some fighting skills. It is a requirement by OZ. As for when the shooting begins…if you keep the boy safe then yes I will not turn on you. As for your other question…Buchai hates violence. While he can pilot most models he hesitant because of his adversity to violence and that will cost him his life. If you think to use him as a pilot you’ll be sadly disappointed.”

Dr. Amori yawned, “forgive me. It has been a long day. Shall we rest and continue our conversations later?”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya was glad for Rashad’s help she was sure she would have slid down a wall in pain without it. She blinked up at him at the compliment of her eyes, blood rising to her cheeks in a blush before she looked down at her feet.

“Not really while green is an unusual color for this area with all the fighting there isn’t time for romance,” Naneya replied softly as they finally arrived at the mess hall.

She sank down slowly but gratefully looking at the stew, “there isn’t apples in this stew right?”

Naneya knew it was a weird question but she had stew once with apples in it, when you had little food you made what you could.

Dimitri would have liked to continue the conversation, but Dr. Amori was right. It had been a long day. So he simply nodded in agreement before standing up. "If you want my opinion, Dr. Amori.. X13 is destined to pilot mobile suits. You have sealed his fate yourself." As he spoke he looked towards Buchai and frowned. The boy seemed far too innocent to be involved in any of this mess. Heading for the door, Dimitri gave the Doctor one last parting word. "But it will be over my dead body, should he find his way into a MS's cockpit, Doctor.."

_____________________________________________________

He had only smiled when Aziz looked away in embarrassment, thinking the boy to be extremely shy around girls. It was true though. War left little time for the wooing of women, or just enjoying another person's company for that matter. When asked about the stew itself, Rashad chuckled. "Apple stew? If it ever gets to that point I think I'd have to choose those horrible protein bars they give us for long expeditions! No no, it's got vegetables and meat in it. Simple, but filling." The meat was probably from a camel, but as Aziz probably already knew, you took what you could get in the desert.

Taking a seat across from Aziz, he leaned forward, crossing his arms on the table. "Take your time, most of the base is sleeping right now so you won't have to bother with a bunch of people passing through."

The doctor frowned for a moment but nodded his head at the soldier for he understood his concern. Once the man left he pulled Buchai into a more comfortable position, settling the boy’s head into his lap, who snuggled closer to the warmth but stayed asleep other wise.

Dr. Amori looked down at the child with a look that wasn’t love but thought, “what trouble will find you now Buchai…”

He closed his eyes and let sleep claim him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya sighed, “good. I am allergic to apples, this one time they put applies in it cause we had no potatoes. I almost died. That is a warped snow white tale.”

She took a healthy spoonful of the soup all but moaning with delight. It was delicious after living off rations for the last few months this food was heaven.

“Sleeping? But its already 4 in the morning!” her green eyes were wide, she was so use to being on the move by then that the thought of everyone asleep was just weird.

She continued to eat with vigor before stopping for a moment, “will they let me stay? I really have no where to go. The men who survived can go back but I…once my parents died I wasn’t really accepted anymore despite my skills. My green eyes make me an outcast. Can I stay here? I’ll pay for my life debt by working hard."

While everyone slept for a few hours the shuttle finally returned to the colony. Since the colony itself was for the most part blissfully unaware of White Fang's presence, they used a private docking port to enter. Dr. Amori and Buchai were woken up before being led to a black SUV outside of the hangar. From there they traveled to what appeared to be a wide and tall multistory office building in the middle of the downtown area of the nearest city. The van dipped down below into the underground parking garage before everyone was let out. A short elevator ride later took them up a few floors. The hallway that now greeted them was long and wide, with many doors lining the walls at regular intervals. Armed guards patrolled the area, no doubt protecting and sealing off the floor from any undesirables. Judging from the security cameras and electric locks on the doors too, this particular floor seemed to be suspiciously important.

Dr. Amori and Buchai were then moved to their own room for security reasons, though aside from the observation camera hanging down from the ceiling it was as cozy as could be given their situation. After the guards left them, Dimitri remained behind once more. He hadn't had any sleep yet, and it showed on his weary expression. Business still needed to be taken care of though, and he'd see to it that it was done.

"Doctor. My superiors express.. interest, in X13," he said grudgingly as he stood next to the door, closing it behind him. "Once you are both settled, they would like to see him. I suspect that it is X13's intended purpose for his creation that has caught their attention. Though as promised I will arrange for you to be working on more civil projects once your paperwork goes through.."

_____________________________________________________

"No kidding, huh? That's good to know. I'm sure the cooks can accommodate you if they do use apples. Just be sure to tell them," he said with an understanding nod. No one wanted to die. And he was damned sure no one wanted to die out here from measly food allergies, either. He was glad that Aziz was eating, though. The boy was way too thin, and needed some muscle on his frame!

He blinked at Aziz's surprise to hearing people were still sleeping. With a slight shrug of his shoulders Rashad frowned. "With the ESUN bans on mobile suits now a days, we don't go out as much as we used to. That, and hardly anyone wants to draw the ire of the Maganac Corps so we're left to ourselves for the most part." It was an unfortunate truth, but a truth none the less. They just couldn't risk moving around like they did in the past. So many of the soldiers just got used to the lessened patrols. Silence followed his explanation, but that was fine with him. Aziz was eating with gusto and that was a good thing. When asked again if he could join the Maganacs, the older man paused for a moment in thought.

"Aziz.. A war zone is no place for anyone to grow up in. It is possible to arrange for you to be moved to another country, however. Far from the tragedies that plague these lands." It was an offer that had been extended to himself when he was first brought here too. It only felt right to pass it on to Aziz now. Though he had a nagging suspicion that the boy wouldn't take it, just like he didn't.

Buchai shuffled behind them as they climbed into a dark tinted SUV leaving the private port still half asleep. He barely remember the ride only really starting to wake up when they dipped into an underground garage of what seemed like a business building of many floors.

Here there were escorted out of the SUV and into an elevator, Buchai being naturally clumsy tripped several times on his too long pant hems as they walked down a heavily guarded hall before arriving to their room. It was simple enough, two beds just big enough for Dr. Amori and more then enough for Buchai, a Full equipped bathroom and a small desk. No windows however much to Buchai’s distaste.

Buchai was fully awake by the time they arrived at their room he removed the military top tossing it on the bed revealing the penguin PJ tank underneath where clashes with the pants. He sat on one of the bed, perched on the edge his hands clutching the bed’s edge as he listened to the exchange his eyes getting large and round.

“I don’t want to,” Buchai said softly, his voice trembling slightly with nervousness and fear.

Dr. Amori sat next to Buchai rubbing his back, “you’ll be ok Buchai. When you say they want to see him, what exactly does that entail and will I be with him?”

---------------------------

Naneya looked up from her empty bowl chugging down the bottle water before wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, giving her head a shake to remove her brown fringes from her green eyes.

“Ok, I’ll be sure to ask just to make sure then. No offense but not being able to breath kind of sucks,” she grinned before frowning.

“There is lots of scrimmages all over this country that the Maganac can take a part of without using MSs. Their soldier supports would help a great deal of people. However I can understand not wanting to get involved so not to expose yourselves. And as for the growing up in a war zone. I may not look it but I am 18 already. I grew up in a war zone, so its too late for me.”

She stated this last part with a flat monotone voice that left no room from argument that she understood the effects of war can have on a child and that it was long too late for her.

Again, Dimitri found it hard to believe that this boy was supposed to be a skilled pilot as he watched Buchai complain. '..he really is a failure, isn't he?' he thought dismally to himself. His attention shifted back to Dr. Amori when asked for an explanation. "As I said, they're most likely interested in X13's supposed prowess as a MS pilot. What that means exactly is anyone's guess. But, no. They have not requested to see both of you at once, Dr. Amori. You will be called when they are ready for you." He spoke with a finality that implied he wouldn't hear any objections to this plan. It may not have been Dimitri's idea from the start, but orders were orders after all.

"You will wait here, Dr. Amori. If you need anything, just ask the guards outside in the hallway. X13 will come with me once he's.. ready." The Lieutenant's eyes gazed down irritably at the boy's sloppy attire. For someone who was forced to wear a uniform for most of the day, seeing such a mess was irking. Dimitri looked as if he was about to scold Buchai, but held his tongue remembering how inept the boy was at.. well, anything really. "Remain still," he instructed Buchai as he knelt down in front of him. It took him a minute to adjust the length of the boy's pants legs by folding them up. But that still didn't satisfy Dimitri, and his displeasure was evident on his expression. "..I suppose that will have to do. For now."

For a moment Rashad had to question Aziz's claim to being a young adult. The teenager didn't even have any stubble to shave off! "Is that so? Then tell me, Aziz. What is it you hope to achieve by becoming a Maganac?" It was a simple question sure. But Rashad needed to know where the youth's priorities were. "What is it that's keeping you tied to all this war?"

Dr. Amori sighed but nodded his head turning to Buchai looking at him hard, “you will be on your best behavior. Do not give them any trouble. Answer all their questions to the best of your ability. Do not be afraid they will not harm you. And most of all…try not to break anything.”

Buchai had been nodding before stopping at the last bit and blushing softly, “yes Dr. Amori.”

Buchai turned his attention to the tall solider, his gold eyes widen as he man approached him and knelt before him. He tensed but held perfectly still trembling from the effort then visibly relaxing and shifting when the soldier stepped back to view him.

Buchai shrugged into the military jacket since apparently this soldier wanted to make an impression out of him though why enforce the military appearance was beyond him wouldn’t he want to down play it? Well no seeming this soldier wanted him dead perhaps reminding the higher command of what he was by first sight would guarantee his death. He fought with the button for a moment as the sleeves were too long and partially from fear, finally pushing them up to his elbow finishing the buttons before the sleeves slide back down over his hands. He stood up his bare feet peaking out from the rolled pant hems his hands clutching the bottom of the jacket in nervousness, his hands completely covered by the sleeves.

He looked up at the solider shaking his hair from his face silver glimmering at his temples in the room’s light.

“Ok. I am ready,” he said softly.

===================================================

Naneya pushed her empty bowl away from her crossing her arms on the table looking down thinking for a moment before turning her hard green emerald eyes to Rashad.

“What kept me tied to this war was first my family, they were soldiers and I was born to it. They died two years ago during a surprise attack at our camp. After that I stayed because I had no where else to go and revenge in my heart. Two years have pass since their deaths and the war goes on, my desire for revenge has long since died. War is the only life I have known and it is who I am. However I grow weary of a battle that has no end and no memory of a beginning nor reason of being. At least with the Maganac I can try to gain a new sense of self and any battling I do will have a purpose. Does that answer your questions?"

As much as Dimitri wanted to keep this clone away from the battlefield, he wasn't about to hide anything from his superiors. White Fang had an uncanny knack for finding out about secrets after all. Besides he was confident that they would disapprove of the boy's clumsiness and dismiss him as a threat. Once Buchai had finished dressing himself, Dimitri gave a curt nod. "Follow me, X13."

He led Buchai back out into the hallway and into the elevator once again. This time they went higher into the building. Much, much higher. While they waited Dimitri's stern gaze fell upon the boy at his side. "Tell me, X13. What do you think of fighting? Of war? Of death?"

_____________________________________________________

Rashad listened to Aziz's answer attentively. He had to wonder what were the boy's parents like. What did they fight for? What did they die for? It was a sobering thought indeed. While those questions might go unanswered he held nothing but respect for Aziz's deceased family members. The life of a soldier was a tough one, no one could deny that. But to find the time to love, and raise a child? That was well above and beyond the call of duty in his book.

"..yes, that'll do." He then propped an elbow on the table and rested his chin in the palm of his hand. Rashad's expression softened slightly, thinking that he was signing the boy's death warrant should he let Aziz stay. "I will talk to Dhammar, then. But Aziz, are you so sure that you want to keep fighting?"

Buchai turned to study the soldier as he followed behind being careful not to trip keep, his golden eyes wide before his face closed over looking down at the floor, a cutely serious expression filling his featuring. It was quite obvious that the young boy was rarely serious and the face he abducted was one he believe was the correct one, it only made him look that must cuter as his forehead furrowed and his lips turned into a pout.

“I don’t like it. Its pointless and cruel,” he said softly his voice a bit thick, it was obvious he was uncomforted and upset with the question.

---------------------------------

Naneya looked at Rashad, “I know of nothing else. The thought of living an idle life sends chills down my spine. I do not have the patience nor temperament for such a life. I would go insane with confusion and fear. I fear a normal life then I do death.”

Her head was turned away from him looking at the wall as she spoke before she turned her eyes back to Rashad, “a house life would never do for me."

"Is that so?" asked Dimitri after the boy's heartfelt answer. "Even if you say things like that, it changes nothing. Humans are bound to disagree with each other. Words of wisdom carry little weight when tempers run high." Reaching out a hand he grabbed Buchai by the front of his shirt and pulled the youth up on his toes so they were close to eye level with each other. His expression was still calm and tranquil, but his next words were spoken with blatant contempt. "The fighting will come, X13. When it does, what will you do?"

_____________________________________________________

A light smile creased his lips at Aziz's response. Nodding in understanding Rashad chuckled softly. "Yes, I suppose that goes for the rest of us as well, huh? The life of adventure may not seem so glamorous, but you just can't go back, can you?" He couldn't see himself living a 'normal' life either. Not after all he had been through. Oddly enough, he knew that he would miss being shot at if he were forced to work a boring job day in and day out! "Well it's not official yet, but if you're good with your hands then I'm sure you'll be a welcome addition to our merry little band. Especially if you really can fix mobile suits."

Buchai squeaked when Dimitri grabbed him his hands going to grip the soldier’s wrist, he jerked and squirmed trying to get free, his golden eyes large and round with fright.

“let me go!” he exclaimed fearful and angry at the same time tears rolling down his face.

“I DON’T KNOW OK?! I DON’T KNOW WHAT I WILL DO! I HATE IT ALL! YOU! DR. AMORI! THE ENDLESS TESTS TO PROVE I AM FAILURE! I HATE ALL OF YOU!”

With a twisting move no one would have thought of Buchai not even himself he used the overly large military jacket to his advantage slipping out of it by dropping his weight down rising his arms so it slide over his head landing in a heap on the floor his penguin top out of place, tears still streaming down his cheeks as he curled into a ball pressed against the wall hiding his face in his arms and knees.

--------------------

Naneya pouted at the doubt in Rashad’s voice, “I can too fix mobile suits!” she protested annoyed.

Her green eyes hot with annoyance and a touch of anger. As a woman she had always been counted as a failure. Unable to do the same as male despite the many times she disproved it. Now being mistaken for a male the same opinion was being regarded of her and she didn’t like it.

The White Fang officer felt a bit disgusted with the boy as Buchai began to cry. What made this boy so special? He really was a failure! Dimitri's eyes narrowed as Buchai yelled at him. But, it was the most backbone he had seen the boy muster, he had to give him that.. Still holding on to the jacket as the frightened youth curled up into a ball, Dimitri raised a brow. Had this been a soldier under his command he might have kicked him for looking so pathetic! However, this was just a boy.

With a sigh, he crouched down next to Buchai, draping the jacker over the boy's shoulders. He said nothing at first, but then spoke softly, giving the other male's arm a reassuring squeeze. "X13.. I'll tell you what you will do when the fighting starts. You get behind me. I'll fight so you don't have to. Even someone like you can understand that, can't you?"

_____________________________________________________

Rashad raised up both hands to try and calm Aziz down, chuckling softly. "Easy, easy! Didn't mean any harm, Aziz." Discontent was clear in the other male's emerald eyes, but perhaps he had been too careless with his choice of words. "But you still have to heal up before you can do anything else, y'know? My team is done with patrols for the week, so I'll introduce you to them later. You'll probably be grouped in with us later."

Buchai didn’t move at first though his sobs lessened and he turned his head so his red and swollen gold eyes could look at him, they were hard as steel, colder then the tundra they had walked through.

“My name is Buchai and you have hurt what is mine. This I will not forgive,” he said in a voice much different then his own like thunder rolling in echoing in sea caverns.

This lasted but a moment but long enough to make his point clear before the frozen ambers ice melted in golden butter warm and liquid with unshed tears.

“Ok. Hide behind you. I can do that,” he said softly sniffling as if nothing had happened between Dimitri words and these, rubbing his eyes with his knuckles, he had long since learned rubbing his eyes with the back of his eyes only hurt.

------------------------------------------------

Naneya nodded softly her nerves calming down, she took a few deep breaths to release the last of her anger.

Dimitri fought the natural instinct to recoil away at Buchai's hardened glare. He recognized those eyes anywhere. They were the eyes of a killer, not a cowardly child! Then he spoke with a voice so surreal the White Fang Lieutenant had to wonder if he had heard anything at all! It was the most backbone Buchai had shown yet, but something was different. Something was wrong. Before he could figure it out though, the boy turned into the clumsy fool Dimitri knew him to be. Suddenly, he didn't really want this boy hiding behind him during a shootout, not trusting him after this startling albeit fleeting shift in personality.

"Good," was all he said in reply, keeping his own face emotionless with ease. He helped the boy up and put his jacket back on him as well, the elevator doors finally opening as they were finishing up. The floor they came out to had a security checkpoint in front of the elevator, which they briskly passed through, moving into more office type decor as they made their way around. Dimitri stopped at a closed wooden door, turning abruptly to give Buchai one final inspection. His eyes still looked a little red, but there was nothing they could do about that. "Now then, be sure to answer honestly, and this will all be over soon."

Several days had passed by at the Maganac base since Aziz's arrival. Dhammar had finally come around to approve of the outsider joining, but Aziz was not to leave Rashad's unit for now. The blond haired man didn't mind, it reminded him of the days when he first joined up too. His team was currently waiting their turn for patrols again though, so they didn't leave the base. Rashad took the time to show Aziz around and familiarize the younger soldier with his new home while pointing out some house rules. The first and foremost being Dhammar was the king of this castle. He was a good leader, and a trustworthy man, holding the respect of everyone under his command. But that didn't mean he was a tyrant either. As they passed each other by, the burly man would often give a nod of acknowledgement to Aziz.

"Okay tough guy, time to see what you got," Rashad said with a smirk, leading Aziz to the hangar where the blond's mobile suit was. During the fighting when they first met, small arm's fire had damaged one of the cameras on the Maganac's head. A mechanical lifter was parked nearby, and next to that stood a table with a bag of tools and a crate of replacement parts. "Let's start with something easy, yeah? You're just starting to get better, don't want you to get hurt again. Think you can replace the camera in the Maganac's left eye?"

Buchai blinked as the soldier all but lifted him back to his feet, tugging the jacket back onto his frame then escorting him into the elevator and to a wooden door where he was inspected again. He was silent and down as they walked sniffling every once in a while, rubbing stray tears from his eyes before blinking to dry them. At the door he nodded his hands clutching in front of of him as he clutched the jacket hem.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya enjoyed her days healing because Rashad was always at her side. The tall soldier made her feel welcome which set the motion for his unit who also made her feel welcome. She was the youngest soldier in the entire Maganac as children were spares as the youngest before her was 21, so it seemed she was going to be teased and adored by all. She kind of enjoyed the attention though as she never had it before. Though she had planned to tell Rashad that she was a girl not a boy she changed her decide upon seeing the woman in the Maganac, they were not fighters. They were cooks, cleaners, maids, healers and the such. The Maganac was quite protective of their female and children. Even if she had been a solider before she was sure they would not allow it with them. Maybe a MS engineer if she could prove herself but that would be on no risking her life. She wouldn’t and couldn’t have that. Sitting idle by while others fought was not in her nature.

“A camera really? Come one that can be done with your eyes closed,” she mutter as she walked towards the table, clipping on the tool belt filling it with stood and hopping onto the lift.

Her ribs were feeling great today so she moved as she would normally, up at the head, she worked quickly pulling the damaged camera out checking the wires that they were not damaged, seeing them intact she removed the camera from the wire placing it on the platform out of her way as she fitting the wires into the new camera cleaned the dirt and grim to ensure the camera didn’t get stuck then placed the camera into place. 15 mins and she was done, she looked down.

“Done!” she grinned, she was also the fastest MS repairer among her unit.

Dimitri turned away from Buchai to open the door before ushering the boy inside with a hand. The room was small, and held no furniture in it save for a large glass mounted on the far wall. After closing the door behind them and locking it Dimitri nodded to the one way mirror. "Commander Hargrave, this is the boy in question, X13. We apprehended him and his.. creator Dr. Amori last night."

"So you tell us, Lieutenant," boomed the speaker mounted on the ceiling above the glass pane. "He seems a bit.. Shaken up at the moment?"

"A trivial matter, sir. Just a bit of a shock for him, moving to a new place and all," replied Dimitri quickly, his spine stiffening slightly as he stood behind Buchai.

"Of course.. Now then, X13? What is it you were made to do?" asked the voice with an air of authority. "And who do you serve?"

_____________________________________________________

Leaning back against a wooden table, Rashad watched Aziz work. He kept eying a clock on the wall to check the total time of the repair, but as he had learned to expect the newbie was quick and efficient. The thing that pleased him the most though was their new member's improving physical and mental state. Not only was Aziz's injuries healing nicely, it was nice to see someone so young smiling and laughing now a days. So lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice Nasir sneaking up on him until the other man hooked an arm around Rashad's neck.

"Hey hey! Keeping Aziz to yourself, are ya?! Where's the team spirit?" joked Nasir with a chuckle. Before Aziz, he had been the team's primary mechanic. Though he lacked any formal training, so he was more than happy to let Aziz step in for him now a days.

Lightly elbowing the other man away, Rashad smirked. "Team spirit? You drank the last of my beer rations, you jerk! Besides, I figured he should start with the simple stuff first."

"Mm, wasn't there something that said once a man admitted his wrongs, he should be immediately forgiven?" Nasir said with a grin, before moving away, lest Rashad felt like hitting him. It was then that Aziz called out to them, saying he was done. Nasir waved up to the younger soldier. "Hey Aziz! You should make Rashad take you with him when he goes out tonight! It's his turn to make sure the radar antennas around the mountain are in good shape. Make sure he doesn't break anything, yeah?!"

Rashad felt like throwing something at Nasir, and he would have too, were they not good friends. Folding his arms across his chest, the blond looked up at Aziz with a raised brow. "How about it? Get some fresh air for once, huh?"

Buchai tensed hearing the voices but seeing no one however he knew they were behind the mirror watching his every move so his golden eyes focused there though he only saw his own scared reflection clutching the bottom of his military jacket silver shining in the light on the back of his hands and his temples behind his blue/black hair.

“I serve no one,” he said his voice shaking slightly before he continued, "I am the creation and property of OZ for the piloting of the Zero System and unmanned dolls.”

---------------------------

Naneya grinned down at Nasir whom she liked very much he was a fun guy and they had hit it off well. Rolling down her uniform sleeves from her elbows to her wrist as she lowered the lift back to the ground.

“Sure sounds great!”

She was all but happy to get out, while it had been nice to finally just stay in one place and relax she had been getting anxious being cooped up inside so long, she was use to being on the move.

Naneya stepped off the platform putting the busted camera on the table and wiping her hands with a rag.

There was a long pause as the person behind the glass pane brooded over Buchai's words. Dimitri didn't like where this was going, but he kept his mouth shut anyways. "X13, would you be adverse to the notion of participating in some research programs in return for Dr. Amori's and your own continued protection? I feel as though there's much we could learn from one another," the voice said smoothly. "We won't send you into live combat of course, nor would we expect you to participate in it. How does that sound to you, X13?"

'You're friggin' kidding me..!' thought Dimitri as the corner of his lips tugged downwards to form a frown.

"You and Dr. Amori will be well cared for under White Fang's watch, I assure you," cooed the speaker box, hoping to entice the boy into a deal.

_____________________________________________________

It wasn't until after dinner did the two go outside, under the cover of darkness. Using a hatch that opened up to a dusty mountain trail, Rashad was the first one to go out, his rifle slung on one shoulder. He didn't expect any trouble, but it never hurt to be prepared. "Remember, we're just going to check on the antennas. The moon's on the rise so won't need a flashlight." He paused to take a in a deep breath of the crisp mountain air and sighed. "..really makes me wish we had a five star resort up here instead of a base.."

Buchai blinked his golden eyes going wide as he listened to the words that spilled over the small speakers, his head shifted down so his eyes were focused on his feet before he looked up again.

“No. I won’t do it. I am a failed experiment. Ask Dr. Amori for his finding that should be enough. I don’t want anymore tests…” he said his voice trembling at the fact that he was rejecting them.

He knew they could drug and force tests on him and it is what he excepted but he wouldn’t do them willingly. He knew Dr. Amori wouldn’t want him to and he didn’t want to either. These people took him from the only home he knew and threaten Dr. Amori who had always taken care of him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya scrambled after him, since the thought of getting outside, she had felt clausphobic and a rising anxiety had been building all day. She took a gasping breath, panting softly as she took in fresh air.

“A five star what!?” she asked her forest green eyes scrunched in confusion as she sat on the ground letting her pulse return to normal though her senses were on red alert for danger.

"They aren't tests, per se. We would just like you to participate in a few training exercises with our men. A few harmless simulations, that's all. Before you're so quick to decline, I suggest you see for yourself what we'd like you to do. Dimitri will escort you to the labs.. I look forward to hearing from you again, X13."

"Let's get going," Dimitri said gruffly as he turned away to open the door. He hadn't been told any of this prior to now, and he was beginning to see why. Ushering Buchai our of the room, he led the boy back to the elevator. "The Commander doesn't like to ask twice. We're running the simulation, X13." There would be no arguing here. As they rode the elevator back down, Dimitri raised a hand to rub at his eyes wearily. "Don't do something stupid like throwing the fight. Is that understood?"

_____________________________________________________

Rashad blinked, meeting Aziz's confused expression with one of his own for a moment. He then remembered that war was all his new friend had ever really known. Tapping his chin with a finger, he looked away in thought. "Mm, a resort is a place where people relax and vacation. It's like the recreational parts of the base, but fancier? There's good food, soft beds in your own comfy room, places to pamper yourself, basically, free of war and violence." He himself had never been to one, though his father had shown him many magazines and videos during his childhood. Smiling down at the other soldier, he smirked. "Stick around long enough, and I might be able to take you to one."

Buchai followed Dimitri out when they got into the elevator, Buchai moved forward his hand slamming onto the emergency stop button where he planted himself in front of it his hands clutching the hem of his overly large military jacket, his golden eyes serious but still like melted golden butter, he had the cutely seriously expression again, the only thing that gave away his fear and nervousness was his white knuckles and trembling body.

“I w-wont do it. You drag me all the way here against my will when I-I had a home and now you want to e-experiment on me? Those tests are going to lead to genetic experiments! They will see I can pilot a MS well enough to get by but put me in a combat situation and I crumble. I have done it a thousand times! I d-don’t want to do it for a bunch of strangers who then want to know the why of it. That means needles and drugs! No. No! NO!” he was shaking hard by the end, his breath coming in pants, his eyes overly bright with unshed tears.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Naneya look at Rashad like he had grown three head and nodded, “uh huh ok.”

She stood up and walk a little away muttering things like he didn’t believe in murder suicide just to get to heaven and go to this resort thing.

Dimitri blinked as Buchai stepped forward to slam his hand against the emergency stop button. Looking down at him with cold eyes, he listened silently to what the trembling boy had to say. The White Fang officer said nothing at first, but his attention was diverted as another voice spoke up from the speaker built into the button panel. "Everything alright in there? We see your elevator stalled in the shaft. What's the situation?"

Dimitri kept his disgruntled expression on Buchai before reaching out a hand. He pulled the boy away from the panel and pressed the button with a white phone on its surface. "..about damn time," he snapped. "Go call the tech people and figure out what the hell went wrong before I climb back up and throttle you personally!" With his message done, he released the button, but not Buchai. Again his cold eyes shifted to the boy. "You're not a failure, are you? Where's the fire you had earlier when you looked at me as if you were going to kill me?! Quit playing games, you brat!" he shouted, clearly ticked off at this point.

_____________________________________________________

Rashad raised a brow at Aziz's words. With a sigh, he shrugged his shoulders and followed after him. "Hey, ease up, will you? Everyone has the right to enjoy life. Besides, I'm sure you'd like it if you went to one. Maybe even meet a special someone too, huh?" All in all, many people sometimes felt that Rashad was overly optimistic about things sometimes. In truth, sometimes he did. But he couldn't accept that reality was just war and violence.

Buchai gasped and stumbled when Dimitri grabbed him by the front of his jacket. Just as his throat and jerked him forward he only didn't fall because of dimitri hadn't let him go. Buchai's hand gripped dimitri's wrist terrified.

He winced when dimitri turn his cold eyes from the panel to him and spoke harshly.

"I am a failure! I don't know what you're talking about! I am not playing games! If anyone is playing games its you! You are trying to confuse me! Trying to catch me in a lie! I have told you the truth about me!"

Buchai was angry and upset and it showed on his face but the anger was lukewarm more upset then anything else. Buchai wasn't one to get angry often, long nor with any real intensity.

"Let go" he said softly trying to pry his hands off him as he also tried to pull back but finding the elevator wall right behind him giving him no where to go.

-------------

Naneya looked at rashad, "I don't know these things you speak of. Even as a child I never played. I was the only child and we were always on the move. My play was leaening how ms work and how to fix them. I don't even know how to swim. There are no lakes to learn. I don't know how to play chasing games. Or any games for that matter."

She was angry at rashad for bringing up all that she missed in life. She scoffed, "what guy would want me?" She snapped the words just out her mouth when she gasped and covered her mouth with her hand realizing what she said and how it must look, her cheeks burned and she looked away towards the ground her head to thw right panting slightly.

Maybe if he had gotten some sleep, he wouldn't have snapped. Knowing about this other 'Buchai' probably would have helped as well, but he was still in the dark about that. Now he had to babysit a brat whom he couldn't quite figure out. It went without saying that today was not Dimitri's day. The man's purple eyes continued their narrow glare as the boy tried to reason with him. Having done a few interrogations himself, a part of him knew that the boy's desperate words were true. But that couldn't be right, could it? Pressing the boy back against the elevator wall, Dimitri brought his face within inches of Buchai's.

"Pray you are right, boy.. You have wasted enough of my time as is..! We are going to run those simulations. And if you continue to try to back out of this or hold back, you can be damned sure there will be needles in your future," he said disdainfully. Raising his voice he continued. "Do you think you're better than me? Is that it?! Don't want to sully your ego by talking to a normal human being?!"

_____________________________________________________

The tension in the air was quite clear. Rashad had stepped on a nerve. He stood there silent as Aziz spoke about his past. The older man knew that every child grew up rough out here in the Middle East unless your family was well off like his was, so it didn't surprise him a lot to hear all this. '..so your heart still does grieve, huh, Aziz?' his thoughts asked softly. Rashad was put off guard by the younger Maganac's next comment, though. Blinking as Aziz adverted his gaze, the older man shook his head and sighed before approaching his companion.

"You think too hard, my friend," he said softly after putting a hand on Aziz's shoulder. "Consider your debt to the Maganacs changed, then. Your new debt is to go with me to one of these fancy resorts." As for the comment about guys... Well, Rashad wasn't sure what to say. In the past few days he had gotten to know Aziz, he had to say that he enjoyed the other male's company. But it had never crossed his mind to consider Aziz anything more than a friend. As far as Rashad had last checked, he was indeed straight as an arrow! So then why was his heart telling him to comfort Aziz with a kiss? "Hey now, quit being so negative, alright? All in due time, Aziz. Now c'mon, we got a job to do."

Buchai pressed himself hard against the elevator wall trying to get away from Dimitri but he was up close and personal with him his hand still gripped to his collar, his own hands still wrapped around his wrist.

“I am a normal human being!!!” he snapped back, tears rolling down his face.

“let me go!!” he struggled again, “I don’t want to do the simulations! I was asked if I wanted to do them, I said no! Let me go home!!”

The elevators shifted suddenly as it whirred to life the emergency stop disengaged and it began to move towards the floor (no idea which one) it had been headed, a voice spoke over the intercom to their right.

“All fixed sir, your headed to your destination. I apologize for the inconvenience, it seems the emergency stop was somehow engaged, the elevators will be evaluated today for glitches and bugs."

The com turned off once he finishing speaking.

Naneya moved her hands aways from mouth, her green eyes shifting up to look at Rashad whom seemed to take her comment in stride. Relief flooded her that he didn’t look disgusted or uncomfortable, she would have revealed the truth right then and there.

“I’ll hold you to that promise of changing my debt. Ya, lets get going,” she muttered and waited since she had no idea how to get the the antenna.
------------------------------------------------------

"Normal human being?" repeated Dimitri, slightly confused now. Did Buchai not know what he was? No, he had to know! "You want to go home? Well guess what, you don't have a home!" he shouted as the elevator shuddered and began to move again. Pausing as the voice of the technician from earlier spoke once more through the speaker, Dimitri frowned, ignoring the man. To hell with the simulations, he was going to get to the bottom of this..! He let go of Buchai now, and pressed the button that would take them back to Dr. Amori's room.

"..you don't have a home," he said again, softly. "If you think you're a normal human, then someone's been lying.."

A smile creased his lips at Aziz's acceptance, and he nodded, clapping the other soldier on the shoulder. "There you go. Keep that chin up, Aziz." Moving on now, they traveled up a mountain path going higher the farther they went. The trail wasn't especially dangerous, but Rashad still cautioned his companion to be careful. Their path took them to a tall semi circular rock formation, with several large machines placed in the middle. Thick cables connected to the equipment traveled into the ground, supposedly to the base below. The largest of the machines present sported a tall and thin antenna, reaching about a good three meters into the air. Rashad pointed to it.

"That's it there. Basically we're just making sure nothing's broken, or no critter has taken up residence here. But, let's take our time heading back, yeah? It's a nice night out," he said with a smile.

Buchai looked down at his feet, his hands releasing his grip on Dimitri’s wrist where he still had a hold of him pinning him to the elevator wall, fall to his sides limp and in defeat.

“please let go,” he said softly, the fight in him dead and lost.

-------------------

Naneya nodded her head, taking everything in, her mind whirring with information as she studied the mechanism of the antenna. She had always been good with electronics, MSs and anything engineering. Her father had taught her a lot of different things, mainly basics then building on the detail of different components for different types of things.

“Ok, its is nice out here, its better then being cooped up underground,” she replied half distracted as she studied a panel of wires.

Finally, Dimitri did let the boy go. There was nothing more to discuss between him and Buchai. At least not until he got some answers from Dr. Amori. They didn't stop at the floor they were supposed to stop at for the simulations, Dimitri immediately hitting the 'close door' button and allowing them to continue on. Shortly after another voice picked up over the intercom, this time, it was the man from behind the one way mirror. "Lieutenant, I do believe that I instructed you to take X13 to the simulation room."

"With all due respect sir, I'm going to find out more information about our guests before proceeding with any tests," he replied. There were missing pieces he wanted to uncover before allowing anything to happen. There was something Dr. Amori wasn't telling them.

"Negative, Lieutenant. We're already assuming that information is being withheld from us. Just proceed to the simulation room as ordered," said the man with a growl.

"..." Dimitri said nothing at first, his expression still scrunched up in irritation. "Acknowledged. We'll head upstairs once the elevator stops." Of course, this he had no intention of doing. After the doors opened for them, Dimitri yanked Buchai out of the elevator while pressing the button for the floor holding the simulation room. That would buy him some time. Nodding a curt greeting to the guards patrolling about the halls, he then opened the door to Dr. Amori's room, pulling Buchai along. "Doctor? I believe we need to talk.."

"You got that right. It's always nice to breathe in non recycled air." Stretching his arms over his head, Rashad groaned. He was content to let Aziz check out the radar equipment if it interested him. His hands came to rest upon his hips as he stared up at the star speckled sky, thoughts drifting back to Aziz's sexual orientation. There had been times where he had thought Aziz looked a bit feminine, but he had never given the instances any serious thought. Personally he held nothing against men who were homosexuals, but he had never pegged himself to be one. Suddenly confused, he shrugged it off with a smirk. "When you're ready, we'll start heading back."

Buchai shifted away when he was release obviously wanting to get some distance between them. He blinked when Dimitri comment about not taking him to have the tests run only to hear that he was to speak with Dr. Amori. That didn’t sound much better.

He followed silently having no where to run as they re-entered the bedroom assignment to them.

Dr. Amori blinked as they entered, looking up where he laid on the bed his back against the wall, he had been reading a book brought to him by a guard, he put it down and took one look at Buchai and was on his feet.

“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?” he snapped, gesturing for Buchai to come to him.

Buchai stepped over as Dr. Amori eyes skimmed him over looking for physical injury. Dr. Amori’s hand sooth down Buchai’s blue black hair knowing it calms him down. Buchai closed his eyes at the touch, leaning his head against the doctor’s chest, who wrapped his arms around the small boy, glaring at Dimitri over Buchai’s head.

Naneya gave him a muttered reply obviously no longer interested in him, her eyes skimming the panel, narrowing slightly as she leaned in slightly muttering to herself then her hand lifting to the metal bar above her head grabbing it and hoisting herself up ignoring the painful twinge in her ribs, the only acknowledgement was the grimace of pain in her face but she quickly scrambled up the metal antenna away from Rashad so he couldn’t tug her down but she needed to go this high anyways.

She followed a long wire up about ten feet into the air to another panel, sitting on the 4 inch reinforced steel, one hand keeping her balance by steadying herself with the panel box while the other hand examine several wired, a frown on her lips before she muttered a half curse.

Shifting she eased herself standing onto the 4 inch steel bar, looking up to see the distance of the next bar as the antenna rose and became narrower the steel bars became farther and farther apart not needing so much reinforcement like the base, a grown man probably could have reach it but she was too short to reach it. The antenna followed the normal pattern of a bar parallel to the ground then two crossing like an X, then another parallel bar, and so on and so on thought it was smaller then industrial antenna.

She out stretched her hand, she was short about a foot. Her eyes studied the panel box, it wouldn’t hold her weight, maybe half of it, she could brace one foot on it and use it to push herself the last foot to grab the bar but then it would be all upper strength to get herself up there, then she would have to go to corner where the X began pull herself up and then crawl up the slated bar and try to reach the next parallel bar where the next wire panel was.

Naneya took a breath and did just that bracing one foot on the panel box and hoisting herself up and quickly grabbing the bar so she hung there both small hands gripping the 4 inch bar, pain shout down her ribcage on both side, she gasped loudly, making a ‘ngh' sound of pain but pulled herself up, her arms trembling, she straddling the bar gasping, sweat coating her skin where it broke out from the pain and strain of hoisting herself up.

She was not looking forward to continue up but she had to. So she slide down the bar and began to crawl up the slated bar.

Dimitri quietly closed the door behind him as Buchai ran to his caretaker. As expected, Dr. Amori was less than pleased at the state in which his 'child' returned to him. He ensured that the door was locked before returning the other man's glare. "That would be my line, Dr. Amori..! There is more to this boy then you are telling me! White Fang wishes to run simulations with X13. That, I could care less about! But that boy.. That boy is hiding something!" His hand removed his pistol from its holster on his belt before flicking the safety mechanism off.

"For a split second I could have swore that I was looking into the eyes of a cold trained killer! Something like that doesn't just happen out of the blue! And what a coincidence? He's not even human!" shouted Dimitri, his thumb cocking back the hammer on his handgun to ready it. Anger was clear on his expression. "If you want my trust, Doctor, I need yours! Or so help me I'll make sure NO ONE gets to experiment on X13 ever again!" Taking a step forward, he then pointed the gun at Buchai while keeping his cold gaze locked upon Dr. Amori.

When he was finally aware that Aziz wasn't paying attention to him, Rashad turned to see what the younger soldier was up to. His eyes widened slightly as he saw the boy scaling the radar equipment like a monkey. Taking a step towards the structure the man frowned. "Hey! Get down from there before you break something, yourself included, you t**t! HEY!" For a moment he had to wonder if he had just let a wolf in sheep's clothing infiltrate the base's defenses. If that was the case, Rashad would have no choice but to shoot Aziz. "Aziz, the hell are you doing?!"

Naneya looked down for a moment seeing Rashad yelling up at her but see was too high up with a strong wind blowing to hear him so she just shook her head and continued up to the bar until she pulled herself to the next panel. She straddled the bar, using her knees to balance herself and her fingers worked at the wires. Shifting things around and completely removing on wire which extended to the lower box, she wrapped part of it around her wrist so she wouldn’t lose it.

Buchai turned around in Dr. Amori’s arms, his eyes widen as the barrel of the gun pointed his way. His hands clutched the arms wrapped around his chest, his body visibly shook, his skin death white and his gold eyes wide as saucers.

Dr. Amori all but growled, “put that down, you are not going to kill him! Your superiors wouldn’t be very happy with you and they will just have me make another one. Whatever you saw, you imagined. You are so sure Buchai is a killer, that the moment he stands up for himself you see a killer! He is just a kid who is scared! What happened he said no to being tested on? You should have come to me then and not threaten him! And for your information he is HUMAN!”

Dr. Amori didn’t take his eyes off Dimitri but lowered his voice into a warm but stern murmur, “Buchai, you will do the tests. You will do as they ask. I know you don’t want to but you need to. You will do as I say. Is that understood?”

Buchai continued to stared at the gun and Dimitri but replied stuttering, “y-y-e-s-s”

“See how easy that was Dimitri? Now drop that gun!"

For a moment, Dimitri honestly considered just shooting both of White Fang's hostages between the eyes! Dr. Amori brought up a good point. If he killed Buchai, they could just make another through the Doctor's research. But if Dimitri killed him as well, such a task would be impossible. He was however, offended that the other man would call him a liar! Clenching his teeth, the Lieutenant stood his ground as he grudgingly listened. How many more lies was he being spoon fed right now?!

"You seem to think I take my job lightly, Doctor. That I do not know what another killer looks like?!" he shouted back. Dimitri paused for a moment to catch his breath before lowering his voice, eyes narrowing into dangerous glares. "X13 will do the tests, that's for damned straight. I'll personally judge his combat skills myself, as well." As much as he didn't like the situation, even he knew that his accusations were without evidence at this point. Of course, this didn't mean he had to like it. Dimitri returned his pistol to its holster on his hip slowly, shifting his hardened stare to Buchai now. "You're putting on a convincing facade, boy.. Best pray I don't get an itchy trigger finger the next time you decide to play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde..!"

There was a knock at the door as one of the guards outside tried to investigate what all the shouting was about. The door was locked, but he'd just blast his way into the room if he had to. "Sir, is everything alright in there? We heard raised voices and-"

"As you were, soldier!" snapped Dimitri cutting the man off. "Now then, X13.. Let's try this again. And don't disappoint me."

_____________________________________________________

Rashad continued to wave Aziz down, hoping the boy wouldn't get into too much trouble. All the while his hand tightened around his rifle's shoulder sling as he watched helplessly. He could see that either Aziz couldn't understand what he was saying, or he didn't care. Honestly, Rashad didn't like either options, really... His jaw clenched however as he noticed what the younger soldier was up to now. "Aziz! Don't make me do this!" It was with great hesitation that he slung his AK-47 down from his shoulder, readying it in both hands, though he kept it pointed at the ground for now. After a moment he saw Aziz remove one of the wires from the panel. Already Rashad could hear Dhammar chewing him out for letting a spy into the base..! Unsure of what to do, he fired off a shot into the air, aiming at nothing. He just wanted to get Aziz's attention right now. "Heeey! What the hell?!"

Naneya jerked in shock and surprise at the sound of a gun shot really really close to her, the jerking threw her off balance and she fell from the bar she had been straddling. Naneya fell about ten feet before her reaching hands finally grabbed a parallel bar jerking her to a stop five feet from the ground. A scream tore from her lips as her weight brutally jerked on her injured ribs but she clung on panting heavily as she tried to tug herself back up but couldn’t her strength gone, she hung there, wincing as one hand started to go numb, the cord which had been wrapped around her wrist had tighten during the fall and now it was stopping the blood flow.

“RASHAD!” she screamed terrified, she’d find out about the gunshot later first she needed to get back onto the ground.

Her eyes shot to him, green, wide and terrified, she was only five feet off the ground but she had fallen inside the antenna’s bars meaning underneath her was a huge mental box and fans that she would torn apart if she landed on it, had she been hanging from the outside, the worse at this height would be a broken bone or two when she landed on the ground or Rashad could have caught her. Naneya gasped when she saw the rifle in his hands, he had shot at her. What the hell?

Dr. Amori rose his head, “I don’t think anything of you Dimitri. I hope you will treat Buchai well during these tests. Particularly any involving needles. I know your higher wants will want genetic samples from Buchai, don’t think me a fool. I am telling you this a reason, have a care with him.”

He gently pushed Buchai towards Dimitri, who dug in his feet shaking his head terrified muttering soft Nos.

“Buchai,” Dr. Amori said sternly looking down at him, Buchai tilted his back to look at Dr. Amori.

“Go Buchai.”

Buchai’s eyes widen for a second before he looked forward again moving slowly like a corner dog as he approached Dimitri stopping a good two feet from him, his hands clench tighter then ever to the hem of his military jacket, his eyes flickering to Dimitri.

“Ok…” he said softly his voice trembling just a tad.

His spine stiffened at the way Dr. Amori spoke to him as if he was in control of the situation. In a way he was, but Dimitri didn't want to admit that to himself. It did bother him that White Fang would probably run genetic testing on Buchai, but not because it might harm the boy. Dimitri didn't think anyone should have the ability to control the Zero System in this time and age. Such a weapon would only lead to terrible wars! Staring down at the boy who refused to come any closer to him, Dimitri smirked. As expected it took the urgings of his handler for Buchai to step forward. Dimitri arched a brow at Dr. Amori now.

"Your warnings are duly noted, Doctor. But I'm sure we can handle one boy. We won't be doing anything you haven't already done yourself, I'm sure," he said coldly before turning away and making for the door. He still wasn't satisfied concerning his suspicions about Buchai being more than he was. But most likely he'd find out more on his own the longer he interacted with the boy. Opening the door, they left the bedroom and went back into the elevator. "Geez, what a mess," he muttered as he pressed the button that would take them to the right floor.

_____________________________________________________

Well damn, that wasn't what he wanted to happen. Not at all! Rashad winced as he watched Aziz fall, ignoring the fact that the boy's scream was a bit high pitched. The way the younger soldier fell wasn't a good sign. He knew that there was a large fan working to keep the equipment cool, and keep sand from getting in. The metal blades would make short work of anyone unlucky enough to fall inside. Meeting Aziz's frightened expression, he dropped his rifle and raced to help, swearing as he did so. His tall stature made it easy for him to jump up and grab a hold of a metal bar near the height of her hands. Since she had fallen on the inside of the structure he'd need to grab her from above; there were too many things in the way to snatch Aziz out of harm's way from the side.

"Hang on!" he encouraged as he pulled himself up. Once he found his footing, he braced himself to support Aziz's weight and reached a hand down to the youth. First he grabbed the cord so he could steady the terrified boy, then he reached out with his second hand, grabbed his wrist. "I got'cha! Easy, now!" Rashad kept his balance by putting his feet against vertical bars on either side of the structure. It was an uncomfortable position, but he'd worry about that later.

Naneya hand wrapped around Rashad’s wrist her legs kicking to find a perch on the bars and help him pull her up, once up and in his arms, safe and steady, her body shaking with shock, tears pricking her eyes.

“Please get me back to the ground,” she whispered her voice cracking, as she tried to control her tremors without success, loosening the cord from her wrist, her hand opening and closing to get her blood flowing again.

------------------------------------------------------

Buchai swallowed but followed silently slipping into the elevator without a door, he was just as silently when the door reopen. He followed Dimitri out.

This time, their elevator trip was uneventful, though Dimitri kept a sharp eye on the boy none the less. When they reached their floor he walked out first. Instead of an office setting this floor had quite a few people in white lab coats going about their business. There were plenty of flat work tables set up, each holding some kind of incomplete machinery, broken or otherwise. Dimitri paid the researchers no heed as he escorted Buchai through the wide chamber and into a separate room. In it was a pair of standard simulation pods, designed to pit two trainees against each other. Several researchers were in the room, and had been waiting apparently.

"Sir! Heard you had a bit of elevator trouble. Everything alright?" asked one man.

"Everything's fine," answered Dimitri, waving his hand dismissively. "Get the boy up to the pod. Let's get this over with."

The researcher nodded before taking Buchai by the hand and helping him up into one of the large circular pods after opening its hatch. It was a mock up of a real cockpit. "..sir? What are these ports on the boy for..?"

"Isn't that your job to figure it out?" snapped Dimitri dryly as he strapped himself into his seat.

"Y-yeah.. Just that I've never seen this kind of arrangement before?" After strapping Buchai into his seat, the man glanced up at the boy with a frown. "Hope you're ready kid. The Lieutenant doesn't hold any punches.."

After both pods were closed and secure, the three monitors within them flickered to life displaying what appeared to be a city district. Tall office buildings were common sights amongst the blocks, as were other large structures. The streets seemed empty of people though. A voice cut through on a speaker linked to each pod. "Standard sortie: Find and eliminate the other person. You'll be using standard Leo MS's for this operation. Armament at your disposal is the standard rifle, shoulder shield, and beam saber. Good luck gentleman."

_____________________________________________________

Also panting from the excitement, Rashad held on to Aziz tightly. As much as he wanted to smack the teen upside the head, he was just glad the boy was safe. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get back down." He took his time getting them to the ground, still a bit shaky himself. When he did, he flicked Aziz on the forehead with a frustrated expression. "Now that neither of us are in mortal danger, mind explaining what the hell you were doing up there?!"

Buchai looked at the all the equipment in the room and the many eyes that followed him. He was escort into the pod where he was strapped in and the tech poked and prodded all the port though they didn’t understand them, they left them alone in the end. They connected a variety of wires to Buchai to read his heart rate, BP and brain wave before they left Buchai alone closing the pod, locking him inside.

Buchai turned to the screen, his eyes flickering and a sharp pain shooting across his temple as the screen turned on. His eyes harden to ice for a second a spike in the brain waves before melting to butter. Buchai’s hand found the control as he studying the buildings. He knew the basics, he knew how to use a leo in a simulation but there was someone on the other side, in another POD. He began to tremble and took a few breath to try to calm himself but his heart rate continued to climb, slowly moved the Leo forward watching every screen looking for movement.

The doctors and tech watched a pair of screens one was Buchai the other was Dimitri. Another monitor sat by Buchai’s screen a reading out his vitals, they noted the brain spike with some interest but not seeing it again dismissed it as a fear spike and continued to watch.

Dimitri was adjusting well to being back in a cockpit, even if it was just a simulation. By the time the researcher finished with his instructions his Leo was already stalking off like a predator, rifle at the ready. Every time this simulation ran, the spawning points for the two combatants would change like in a video game. Even the city was randomly generated at the beginning of every match. But none of that deterred the man from seeking out his prey. Unlike Buchai he moved at a brisk pace, confident in his abilities to thwart off an attack before the boy could do any serious damage. He first caught sight of his opponent as Buchai slowly eased his Leo out of cover to cross a street. To get the boy's attention, Dimitri moved into Buchai's field of vision before popping off a few rounds and ducking back behind a few office buildings. His Leo jogged down a street parallel to the one Buchai was on as Dimitri planned to flank the boy. "C'mon, kid, quit holding back! Show me what you got!" shouted Dimitri into his headset.

The rounds slammed into Buchai’s leo, the simulation reacted just like in real life, the entire pod shook and jerked as if he had really been hit by the rounds, the screens inside blinked hazily back, showing Buchai that his MS had been knocked onto his back. He forced the Leo onto its feet, panting from the shock of being knocked backwards in his seat. His hate rate spike, and his hands shook but he put the Leo into a run ducking around buildings, looking for Dimitri.

Buchai was panting inside the simulation, his heart rate high as he raced the leo down an alley, trying to settle his nerves but unable too. He tapped the screens to get a read out of the area and any heat sources confused when there was nothing within the 50 feet radius of the sensor.

“How far…why would he go so far…lure me somewhere?” he mumbled out loud.

Outsides the simulation scientists muttering about the raised heart rate, BP, concerned about the elevated adrenaline levels as well.

“Kid is going to put himself into cardiac arrest if he doesn’t calm down…” one muttered.

Buchai sense an familiar tightening in his chest and he quickly followed Dr. Amori’s instruction to calm his heartbeat as he had done lots of time during simulations.

Sighs outside the simulation signaled the dropping heart rate, BP and adrenaline levels.

Naneya jerked back away from Rashad angry and scared of him, “you are the one who shot at me!!” she shouted angrily.

“I was removing a hacking wire, your information is being syphon by someone. I was removing it!!” she had been tugging the tangled wire from her arm, which she threw at him which only to be brought to her knees by the movement, the movement cutting through the adrenaline coursing through her from the fall.n

She knelt her legs kneeling in a V shape her feet touching but her knees spread apart her butt sitting on her ankles, one arm wrapped around her chest gasping in pain, doubled over the other hand flat on the sand bracing herself, a wave of nausea consuming her, “ngh!”

Her face turned chalk white as she gasped at the sharp shooting pains running along her ribcage, tears of pain pricking her eyes which were clenched shut as she panted heavily part from pain, part to help keep her stomach down.

“Ngh!” she moaned trying to bite back a sharper sound of pain.

“ack!” she coughed the hand which had been around her chest rising to her mouth, “kkkak, ngh..”

Blood ran down her hand and wrist where it was pressed against her mouth dripping onto the sand, trying to hold back the coughing, “ack! ack! -choke- ngh” her body doubled over kept her face and hand from Rashad’s sight.

The sand continued to darken with blood between her knees where she knelt bent over, hacking a wet cough mixed with soft sounds of pain.

Unlike Buchai, Dimitri had his sensors running on sonar instead of thermal readings. Sonar pinging came in a bit hazy thanks to all the buildings, but it was easy to see the one moving blip on his screen this way, and keep a safe distance between them. Circling around to approach his foe from behind, the older man felt his jaw clench. This wasn't what he wanted, not by a long shot. He knew this kid was hiding something, and he was going to force it out once and for all! Moving his Leo onto the street a full city block away from Buchai's, it held its rifle in one hand while holding its beam saber in the other. Thumbing the switch to activate the melee weapon, Dimitri's mobile suit broke out into a full on sprint towards its target.

"Don't you dare look down on me! Take this seriously or I will kill you, and that damned doctor!" warned Dimitri through his headset as he opened fire on Buchai. As the distance between them closed, his Leo held its beam saber out to its side, tearing through buildings with its focused rod of energy. Normally he would never charge out headlong against an enemy, but he figured such a blatant act of hostility would help jar awake whatever dormant feelings of aggression that the boy had, if any.

_____________________________________________________

Rashad could only blink in surprise at the wire that was thrown at him. A hacking wire..? Not being a tech specialist, he wouldn't have know the difference between a hacking wire and a wire for the mess hall's coffee machine! He allowed the wire to fall to the ground after it bounced harmlessly against his torso. Wary eyes turned to look back up the structure they had just climbed down from. Dozens of questions raced through his thoughts then, but he knew that there was something he had to take care of first. He was about to apologize to Aziz, but then something happened. He was coughing and gagging as if he were in great pain. Seeing blood begin to stain the sand below the other male, Rashad's eyes widened.

Moving an injured person seemed like a bad idea to begin with, but he couldn't just leave Aziz out here to bleed to death. Muttering to himself, Rashad carefully scooped up the younger man in his arms, supporting him much like how a groom would his bride. Quickly he ran back to the hatch where they had come from. 'The hell is going on? First a hacker, now this?!' A short while later, he was rushing through the halls of the underground base, making his way to the medical bay with Aziz still in his arms. "H-hey kid, hang in there, alright?"

Naneya cried out when he scooped her up, her entire body tensing before sagging in his arms as consciousness began to leave her until another coughing fit hit her causing her to jerk in his arms as blood spattered them both.

The jerking movement of her stop when she had fallen had snapped one of the healing cracked ribs and pressed it against her lung, the throwing movement had thrust the rib home.

The doctor who had attended her over the last two weeks rushed to them taking Naneya from Rashad as he demanded to know what happened.

The doctor laid Naneya on the gurney and torn open the jacket sending Rashad away as the nurses rolled Naneya into a surgery room at the same time cutting off the bandages.

6 HOURS LATER

The doctor stepped out of the surgery room to where Rashad was waiting, “he’ll live. I put him into a healing chamber and increased the healing process to bring him to where he was today anything more then that could send his already shocked body into a coma from the body mass and weight he is going to lose from the chamber. He will be very thin and weak when he gets out of the chamber but with food and rest he’ll be back on his feet in a manner of three days. He is young and healthy despite his life style. He’ll be out of the chamber in 2 hours. Now the Leader (can’t remember his name) is going to want to know what happened here, why the kid was brought in this way. I think it is best you tell him instead of me.”

With that the doctor turned and left to check on Naneya.

--------------------------------

Buchai tensed when he heard Dimitri’s threat and snapped back, “I AM!”

He shifted his Leo forward then repelled backward shocked to see Dimitri making such a frontal attack, it was rare and normally a desperate act by soldiers who knew they were going to die. Why was he attack this way?

Buchai cried out, one hand pressing against his right eye as a sharp pain shot through his temple. Outside the scientists blinked at the brain spikes that beeped on the screen before suddenly flatten out, Buchai’s heart rate also spiked.

“His brain reacts to his heart, fear spikes are not unheard of but never seem them this sharp before maybe from his DNA modification...” the head doctor muttered.

Inside the c**k pit Buchai leaped his Leo into the sky and onto a low roof top, hand still to his eye. Once of the roof did he move his hand blinking a few times to clear his blurry vision. He looked down for Dimitri’s Leo.

The head doctor linked into Dimitri’s Leo, “see if you can scare the experiment some more. Getting some interesting fear spikes on the brain waves. Maybe add more Leos to the field all enemies of course. I am curious to see X13’s reactions to being overwhelmed. Just so you know so far X13 seems like just a terrified failed experiment, he almost put himself into cardiac arrest, so just be caution of this, we don’t want the experiment dead…yet."
