Kasai approached the training grounds, looking for his Captain. The fields were lush, the sky was a beautiful shade of blue, and the trees made it all the more beautiful.
"Captain?" Kasai asked, hoping to find his Captain amongst the midst of the vast plains.
There was no response but the chirping of the birds flying overhead. A few robins flying to a tree just north of Kasai. Kasai followed the birds.
"Captain! You know you can't hide forever. You have paperwork to do." Kasai called out, hoping his Captain would appear soon.

Kasai looked at his Captain, then smiled nervously.
"Alright. Training. I could use it anyway." Kasai held his paperwork in his jacket.
Kasai approached his Captain with a smirk. The wind blew, a small howling in the wind.
"Well, Captain, you make the first move." Kasai stepped back thirty feet, hand on his Zanpakuto.
"Ready when you are, Captain." Kasai stood nervously.
Though Kasai vowed to become Captain one day, he was not much of a fighter. He rejected the idea of fighting, but felt the need to in order to protect the people of the world. He looked down at his Zanpakuto.
"Hiiro, you ready?" Kasai asked his Zanpakuto in a low whisper. There was no response.

~~Kasai Soren~~

Kasai drew his blade from it's sheathe, the blade shimmering in the sunlight. The hilt guard had symbols resembling birds flying in flames.
"Captain, while fighting you, I can't hold back." Kasai held his blade before him, able to hold his Captain at bay for a moment. "And I want you to do the same. No holding back...well...maybe a little." Kasai stepped back a bit. The air seemed to become still. Kasai exhaled as he stared at his Captain, trying to force back the Captain's attack.

~~Kasai Soren~~

"Oh crap!" Kasai quickly ran to the left, avoiding the Byakurai blast. The lightning bolt struck the ground, where Kasai stood. Kasai stopped, looking at his Captain.
"Come on, I said take it a little easy on me." Kasai whined.
Kasai dashed to his Captain, Zanpakuto in his right hand.
'Okay...maybe I can get some sort of hit on him...' Kasai thought to himself, then putting his left hand on the handle of the Zanpakuto, appearing to be ready to impale his Captain with the blade with extreme force. Kasai threw his arms forth, aiming for the Captains abdomen, a plan in mind.

Kasai nodded, turning to look at his Captain who sung the blade downwards with great force. Kasai blocked the blade and the Kido then hit Kasai. Kasai flew back, landing on his back. Slowly, Kasai pushed off from the ground, getting to his feet, and smiled, small marks appearing on Kasai's face from the explosion.
"Well...maybe I need to study Kido more. Not my strong suit on what they do." Kasai chuckled.
Kasai then lowered his guard, aiming his blade at his Captain once more.
"Since I have to go full power to have a chance of improving. I might as well release my Shikai." Kasai then placed his hand gently on his blade.

"Ignite, Hiiro!" Kasai ran his hand swiftly down his blade, igniting it into flames. There was not much change from the blade, but the fact that it was now ignited, but Kasai seemed more confident. Kasai dashed quickly to his Captain, twice as fast as normal speed. Kasai raised his blade, and swiftly slammed it downwards at his Captain.

Kasai leaped over the horizontal strike, and over the Captain, appearing behind his Captain.
"Deja Vu, eh Captain?" Kasai held his left arm out, preparing a Kido.
"Disintegrate, you black dog of Rondanini!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat!" Kasai exclaimed, as a red orb appeared upon Kasai's palm. "Geki!" Kasai fired his Kido at the Captain, then swiftly swinging his blade horizontally at the Captain's abdomen.

Kasai twirled, narrowly avoiding the paralyzing Kido he had fired. The horizontal swing did not connect with the Captains blocking. Kasai felt his heart pump fast, in adrenaline.
"Seki...good one." Kasai smirked, holding his Zanpakuto angled downwards.
"Captain. Did I ever tell you why I joined the Shinigami Academy?" Kasai asked, looking down at his blade.

"My friends...they protected me when I was young. I was an orphan, alone on the streets of the Rukongai's District 64. I met Symphony and Michael, my friends that had given me shelter, and food. I could never thank them enough for what they had done for me. So...over the years, we had wanted to join the Shinigami Academy together. Michael had a job already, and didn't want to risk not being able to get into the Academy, so he stayed behind. Symphony worked alongside him, so I joined instead. After many years of training, I went to visit Michael and Symphony, but they were under attack by Hollows. The Hollows ambushed me, and went straight for my friends. They had no form of protection, so I lay on the floor bleeding out, and it had started raining. The Hollows...they...they killed them. The rage I felt...I couldn't control it. My Zanpakuto, it called out to me. I released my Shikai, and killed them in mere seconds. After their death, I passed out, though I swore..." Kasai felt rage filling his chest, his head still down, "I will not give up. I will become Captain. I will make them proud!" Kasai yelled, moving three times his normal speed, charging at his Captain, the flames of the Zanpakuto seeming to get stronger. Kasai raised his blade and slammed down vertically at his Captain.
