The CPPS was a special test, held as an event. It was one month before the school year began. All of the students came to the campus for a week in order to display their powers, going through numerous tests whose results would later to be used to create the Ranking system that you know of. As you also know, these tests were to measure three statistics: Offense, Resilience, and Dexterity. After all of these were tested the rings were created, making sure that the game was fair. To put it simply, every students power has been limited, making sure that they are all within the same power level. In other words, they've been given skill points, which are assigned by the rings on their finger. This makes a distinction between the power of a King and a Bishop while also making sure this game isn't only about raw power. We want everyone to work together, forming teams and making them understand that while they may be strong alone, working together will allow them to reach new heights.

Seen above are the three statistics of the CPPS. Below you will find a guide on what each stat relates to and what value the numbers of your stats have. However, before that's done, there are things that need to be explained.

The first thing many people will notice is that there isn't a stat reflecting any form of mental, magical, mystical, or alchemic powers. This is because abilities and powers when used are represented by at least one of the three stats. No matter what, when magic or any form of 'magical' power is used, it will be used in order for attacking/increasing attack power, a form of defense, or an increase in speed, reflexes, or even flexibility. Powers, abilities, and magic will always take one of these three forms no matter what. This of course means that during the CPPS tests, all students were asked to use their maximum power, whether it was sheer physical strength or creating barriers with a spell.

Offense:
If not obvious, offense contains all forms of attack. Whether it be summoning a giant bolt of lighting to the earth or shattering stone with nothing more than a fist, or even striking with a mixture of element and strength, it's included in this category. The Offensive potential includes overall strength, performance with elements, attack form, and efficiency. Even someone that's insanely strong is weak if he doesn't have the finesse to back it up. Once more, this is the offensive potential of a person, it doesn't mean that there can't be a Rook that can lift more weight than a Queen, it simply means that as a fighter, the queen is superior. Strength and Finesse are what were observed in the Offense Test.

Strength:
Strength deals with lifting power and the force behind your attacks. The higher it is, the more you'll be able to lift and the more power your attacks will hold.

Finesse:
This applies to your fighting style, which will be noted in the profile. Finesse applies to your specific fighting style, how well you fight with whatever weapon or martial arts you fight with. This doesn't mean that a hand to hand specialist is able to instantly become a master with a spear. Nor does it mean that someone that fights with long range magic spells has the ability to fight like a true martial artist once they lose the power to cast..

Resilience:
Resilience is of course your defense. Whether it's simple durability, using some form of power to block, or even spells to created a shield. Resilience includes all. There isn't much to say about this stat, besides the fact that of course no defense is perfect. Even if you have a high resilience stat, a strong and agile fighter will still pose a threat. Defense and Durability are the keywords within this test.

Durability:
Durability applies to the amount of damage one's body can take. It simply represents the physical punishment one can withstand.

Defense:
Defense is your ability to fend off attacks with your form of block. Of course blocking with your arms and legs would apply to durability. Defense applies to shields created from special abilities or from magic spells. Of course, those without a high defense skill would be relying on their durability.

Dexterity:
Dexterity of course takes in many different factors. Raw speed, Quickness, Reaction time, Flexibility, Coordination, and many other factors are included within the Dexterity test. Being fast isn’t the only thing that leads to a high test result, balance and reaction time also come into play. The Fundamentals of Dexterity are considered to be Speed and Nimbleness, words that connect all things done within the test.

Speed:
Speed would refer to ones raw speed and quickness. The faster you can move your body the easier it is to respond to attacks. Speed also relates to how quickly you can attack

Nimbleness:
Nimbleness focused on coordination, flexibility, and ones reaction time. While speed focused on moving your body to react, Nimbleness simply focused on one's natural ability to respond to different situations and attacks.

As stated above, the rings regulate 'stat points' to the holder, based on their scores in the CPPS tests. Here is a simple guide to help you along with making your character.

Depending on your rank, you'll have a certain amount of skills points to be used. These are the amount of points for each rank, which of course is related to the ring also.

Kings: 110 points
Queens: 90 points
Rooks: 72 points
Bishops: 56 points
Knights: 45 points
Pawns: 33 points

Here are your stats with their substats.

Offense:
xxx Strength:
xxx Finesse:

Resilience:
xxx Defense:
xxx Durability:

Dexterity:
xxx Speed:
xxx Nimbleness:

As seen above, there are three stats with two substats. The maximum number you can put into each substat is 25, meaning the max score on each test is 50. To help you through it, I'll put together a random King.

Each King is given 110 skill points to use so here's the layout for said king.

Offense: 30
xxx Strength: 15
xxx Finesse: 15

Resilience: 50
xxx Defense: 25
xxx Durability: 25

Dexterity: 30
xxx Speed: 15
xxx Nimbleness: 15

By looking at this King's stats, you can obviously see that its strength would be its Resilience. Both substats are maxed out, meaning that it basically has the perfect methods of defense. Of course nothing is truly perfect however. While its Resilience skill is definitely impressive, its brought down by its low dexterity and offense skills Unless its methods of blocking were 360 degrees, it'd be impossible for this King to react to attacks moving quicker than it can react. A faster opponent, as long as they can avoid being would definitely be able to bring this King down. No skill is completely superior no matter which way you look at it. The system created for the skills points has been thought through many times, in order to make sure among Kings there's fair competition and even a Queen could hold its own against one.
