You've all been invited to play Checkmate, a game in which teams will form in order to claim a prize. That prize is a wish of your choosing and the higher rank you finish with, (Pawn being the Lowest Rank while King is the Highest) the restraints on that wish will be lifted. The restraints equal quality, quantity and even possibilities. To put it in simple terms, Pawns could wish for limited wealth while Kings could wish for the greatest fortune known to man. Pawns could only wish for a confession from their crush while Kings could wish to enter a happy marriage with their favorite movie superstar.

Of course, you need the game description. Checkmate is a strategy game, much resembling chess itself. You'll need power, intelligence, and many other skills to come out on top and defeat your enemies. There's a stat system in play to emphasize that some are stronger than other but when numbers combine, one is easily crushed. There will be Kings announced on orientation day and these kings will be the leaders of each party. This is where we'll explain the individual goal of Checkmate.

While it's true that there are teams, it doesn't mean that all of these people are friends. Some may group with weaker persons of higher rank simply to increase the chances of increasing their rank easily. Friends are easily taken advantage of and that's something most will have in mind as they begin playing. You're all given a ring, that ring representing your rank. At anytime in the day you're allowed to ask for a Single's Ranked Match in which you will be allowed to challenge any person that's a higher rank than you. Upon victory you'll switch Rings with the person you defeated while losing won't result in many major consequence.

Here's the Team side of things. Throughout the school year you and your teams will be asked to participate in a game of Trial, simple competitions that will takes place in one of two areas. However, on rare occasions, special events will be held in which the top 2 teams will compete in a game known as Choice. Choice differs from Trials because unlike Trials which take place in one area, Choice takes place within the whole school campus. The design of choice will be described later. Ranked Matches can be requested in which your team ranking will improve but other than that, there's nothing special.

The game itself is decided on your team ranking, which will increase and decrease according to the victories you have. That is the game Checkmate in a nutshell.
