Leif let out an exasperated breath, he hated these functions... meetings disguised as informal dinners, but there was nothing for it... as usual. He looked at himself in the mirror, he looked mostly presentable. His long black hair was tied back, a white shirt sat crisply on his shoulders with the top two buttons undone to give it a near casual air. It was finished off with a pair of dark jeans that fitted him perfectly hugging his every curve and muscle, black socks and black shoes. He crossed his arms in a gruff, he hated this client... the woman drove him crazy, and if it wasn't for her absurd fascination with him he would never have been forced to endure a night in her company, even if there would be others with him it was simply a tedious mess that he would rather avoid.

Rubbing the back of his neck he looked at his watch, it seemed reasonable to leave now. Shame he couldn't just blink and wish this night over, but his company needed this contract.

It didn't take long to get to the restaurant, and when he did he felt even more grumpy than he had standing in his apartment. He really didn't want to be here.

Others had obviously noticed his mood since a rather brave man actually commented upon it, "Don't scowl man, you'll scare all the hotties off and you know how Miss Taylor loves your face." For a moment all Leif could do as lower his gaze and narrow his eyes at the guy, an obvious look of discontent shining in his eyes. What a farce this was! With a sulky shrug he walked away to go grab a drink, even as he tried to soften his expression. They needed Miss Taylor, he reminded himself, that was the only reason he was here. But his thoughts didn't linger for long on Miss Taylor, not when he sat on a bar stool indulging in a drop of whisky and his eyes fell upon a most delectable morsel in the place. Skinny, just how he liked his men, and with an innocent air about him.... oh how he would like to corrupt such innocence. That brought a smile to his face, and for the first time since he had been told about this endeavour he didn't completely resent being here. Taking another sip he watched.

Why was it that every time he had to get dragged along on these excurions, they always ended up ditching him? With the check no less! But no, he was not one to just object and yell. He would pay like they knew he would, and probably willingly come along next week as well. He was lonely, and his 'friends' were the only ones to give him the time of day outside of school. Perhaps though, it was only because he was one of the only people that allowed them to copy his gradesheets. With another sigh he left the tip and stood, pushing stray strands of scarlet back from his face towards the long ponytail he sported. it was a veritable fountain of crimson, complimenting the molten amber eyes that were hidden behind black framed glasses.

Fayth Wells, the eternal gullible fool. Head down he grabbed his messenger bag and turned towards the front door and fresh air, his face downcast and looking decidedly dejected. Was this really worth the want to go out once in awhile vice studying in his little loft apartment?

Leif couldn't help but be drawn by the red hair, he was a sucker for red heads, though he didn't think the glasses did much for the guy he was pretty sure he could get them off him.... at least in the fancy of his mind. In his mind he could could see him writhing below him, panting and hot from exertion. He groaned and covered his eyes. Was he just another dirty old man? F*ck! Putting the now empty glass down on the bar he nodded to the barkeep before standing and watching his little red head escape through the door. He wanted to follow, but Miss Taylor would be here soon.... curse her.

Despite his good intentions Leif found his feet doing the complete opposite as they carried him towards the door. Just a peek he told himself. Whatever was driving him was completely unknown to him, even more so when he found himself leaning on the door and calling out to the guy. "Hey. Fancy a drink?" His expression had relaxed a little since spotting the guy so he hoped he would at least not scare him off with a scowl. Leif didn't know what possessed him, he didn't normally approach his 'targets' until he knew if they would be accepting of his approach or not... but this one was going away, and right now he could really do with the sport as a distraction.

Just out the door and he stopped short, eying the sky beyond the awning with dread. When had the rain started? It was either walk the four blocks to the bus in the downpour, or wait it out by the curb. Damned if he hadnt thought to bring an umbrella. Fayth had just resigned himself to the biting cold when a voice stopped him, head cocking back towards the door. A drink? Golden eyes flickered briefly over the taller male in effort to weigh his options, biting his lip in an adorable bit of indecision before nodding. What the hell, he had to wait anyways if he wanted to stay dry. "Sure. But I'll let you know now that I'm not much of a drinker."

Leif couldn't help the grin that spread on his face, it spoke of one word. Victory. "One it is then." In his mind he added a soft, one is all I need. "Come it's raining." Not that Leif wasn't sure the guy had already figured that. He pushed off the door, was about to offer his elbow to the guy but thought better of it at the last minute.

His eyes were drawn to his lips, and the nibbling of it. Oh what he would like to do to those lips... nibble them in the guys place seemed a good place to start. Leif was mildly aware that he shouldn't be doing this, he was here for work and Miss Taylor was bound to arrive at any minute.... yet deep down he was pretty sure he wanted her to see, wanted something to put the foal woman off him, maybe giving her a peek at the truth would do just that. He could only hope.

Turning he walked back to the bar and retook his place on the stool he had occupied moments earlier. "Another." He said to the barkeep before raising a brow in question to his 'friend'. "What can I get you. My treat of course." He added. From what he had gathered from watching the guy and the group he had been with they had left him to front the bill, the guy didn't look that old, could he even afford to pay the bill and still live? Pushing that aside he simply waiting patiently for the reply. Patience, his mind purred, patience. Good things came to those that waited. Of course, sometimes good things came to those who pushed too.

Following the dark haired male back into the restaurant, he trailed after him towards the bar, eying it distrustfully. It wasn't often he strayed to the bar of an establishment, and being here now was rather odd for him. Taking a seat on the soft vinyl stool, he eyed the selection before nodding. "A long islamd iced tea please." Came his soft order, thin delicate fingers fiddling with the napkin the tender promptly set down in front of him. While they waited for drinks, it gave the redhead time to study his mysterious benefactor out of the corner of his eye. He had some strong features, and right away he could sense the man was used to getting what he wanted. The question was, what did he bloody want? "Do you make it a habit of inviting strangers in from the rain for a drink Mr...?"

Leif watched the guy, quirking his brow as the guy seemed to seek distraction in his napkin. Long Island Iced tea.... unusual choice, he wouldn't have expected that, but maybe it did indeed suit the guy. He shrugged it off and simply allowed his gaze to wander freely, assessing the 'goods' before him. He wanted to lick his lips but held back the movement in order to keep the guy here and relatively relaxed, though it was obvious even to Leif he was far from it. The guys words only served to confirm that.

"Leif. You can call me Leif, and drop the mister, it's not like I am that much older than you." He said with a shrug. There was another reason for only giving his Christian name, made hunting him down harder should he decide to walk away and find himself with a 'clinger'... it happened. "As for my habits... only if someone catches my eye." He said, hinting as to what his intention and interest was in the guy. His drink arrived then and he picked up the glass without taking his eyes off the red head and sipped before continuing. "You looked like you could do with some kindness." He added, trying to soften the blow, though he was sure that his earlier comment had had more than enough time to sink in. Good. He didn't want the guy completely in the dark, might as well see if the idea alone would send him running for the hills or not. Of course, it was possible the guy might simply misinterpret his words... he seemed like a complete innocent after all. That brought another grin to Leif's face.

The first smile that Leif had ever seen would make itss' presence known at the reference to age, his features softening into something quite beautiful. "Indeed. My name is Fayth, Fayth Wells. I'm still in the dark as to why you called to me though, your answer will just have to do." When his drink came, the redhead took a sip and hummed his approval, knowing by the taste that the bartender had watered it down. That was just as well, normally these types of drinks packed a punch, this way he had the time to sit and regard him thoughtfully. He looked well dressed, but definitely was not as old as he originally thought him to be. It didn't change his plan of actions, however, his head tilting while he figured how to deal with him.

Eventually he cleared his throat, waiting for his attention before speaking. "I appreciate this, Leif, but as soon as my drink is done, I shall have to head home. Rain, or no rain, there are things I have to do." Feed his plants and take care of the tail end of a project that was due in the near future.

Leif took another sip, rather liking the smile on the guys face. If only those glass weren't there, he was sure the guy would look beyond stunning. He hid his smile in his glass as he listened, it was clear the guy hadn't picked up on his undertone. Oh so innocent.

Behind the guy he caught sight of one of his team trying to find him. Drats he needed to go. Not what he wanted, no, he would rather follow this pretty little red head home and press his advantage. He frowned and shook his thoughts away, it wouldn't do to be rock hard in front of Miss Taylor.

Standing up, downing the rest of his whisky, he took out his wallet paid and then took out a business card. "Here. You ever get in trouble or want to talk give me a call." He should have walked away then but didn't, instead he leaned down and added in a mere whisper. "Or if you just want some company." He straightened up and walked to his colleague, glancing back to take one last look at Fayth. Unable to resist Leif gave him a wink... now it was time to work.

For a moment, Fayth found himself staring too long into the startling hues of amethyst that were settled in his companion's face, wondering how rare they were to see. Seconds later he realized that he was being rude and cleared his throat, nodding down to the drink. “Thank you for this, I’d just found out my ride had bailed and didn’t really like the thought of going outside in that downpour all the way to the bus.” The redhead confessed, taking another small swig of the liquid with an appreciative noise. Straight alcohol never really agreed with his stomach, and sent him careening automatically towards drunk because of his slim stature. Atleast mixed drinks tasted alright and he could sip at them. As it was now, thanks to the drink he had had with dinner and this one, he was feeling quite buzzed.

Hm. Dinner. What a humiliating scene. He’d been tugged from his small but cozy loft to this expewnsize place and footed with the bill. It seemed like they only did this right after his payday, which left things tight for the next couple of weeks. Sure, he could afford his rent, but well, it wasn’t the ideal situation afterwords, skipping meals and buying granolas to flit through the days. No wonder he didn’t have a car. For a moment, a small twinge of despair lit his features, and Fayth was happy to know that he’d turned his head down so that Leif could not see. Hopefully he thought he was looking at his drink.

So far into his thoughts, Fayth didn’t realize he had zoned out until his companion started to rise. “Oh, I er, hope I didn’t take you away from something important. Thank you for the drink, and the chat. It was nice.” He found his voice to be sincere, and truly he was grateful for the chat that had lasted long enough for the downpour to fade to a light drizzle. Taking the card in hand, he glanced down, noting his name and checking it over to see where exactly he worked. In trouble? Was he a lawyer or something?

No, Leif wasn't a lawyer, or anything so fancy. He was just a guy who was good at figures and good with computers. After doing a minor course in accounting along with some ICT he had discovered a natural gift for it... another reason he favoured both was because he rarely had to face customers like this, but Miss Taylor was a unique case... one that had haunted his work place searching for him on more than one occasion, all because of the day when she had tripped and Leif had caught her. If he had a time machine he would go back and tell himself to walk in the opposite direction. Of course, he mused, looking over his shoulder at one last look at the red head, Fayth, he wouldn't have got to meet that delightful creature had he not been dragged here. His words had been the closest to 'friendly' that Leif could offer, an attempt at 'friendship' though such concepts were rather alien to him.

As he sat opposite Miss Taylor he couldn't help but allow his thoughts to drag, he really hoped the guy would call him, and soon. Shifting position he watched the woman with near open destain. His eyes shifted to the window and he was sure he saw a flash of red.... Fayth?

The rain had let up, allowing him to traverse to the bus with relative ease. Fayth could barely remember the ride or walk home, all that seemed to hold his attention was the little rectangle of stiff cardstock in his pocket, fingering the edges in an absentminded daze.

His home wasn’t really all that terrible looking on the inside, but from the outside it looked like he had rented a room in a slum house. Going it on your own in the city was something that not everyone had to do, but Fayth was a dreamer, and he was striving to reach for that one dream he held so high. The downside was that without help, he needed to work even harder to make it all himself. Even at these odds, he found it within himself to press for it, taking a job as a barista in a coffee shop near the end of the college center and the beginning of the business district. It kept busy because of the two types of people that always visited, which meant the tips were good, from the businessmen and women at least. Fayth could understand from his own experience that not every student could afford a tip.

Even if it meant working himself to the bone and studying all night, he was going to get his degree, and so far he’d done well enough to merit into his second year of college. He was by no means a genius, but he had a knack for many of his courses, though the mandatory physical fitness block was definitely not his strong suit. Still, he got along fine, his teachers seemed to be pleased with his work and none of his grades were failing or near that.

The only trouble he could foresee was his friends. Blake and Cory always seemed to swing by when he had time to himself to relax, and their cajoling would eventually bring the poor introverted redhead out to be dragged along to excursions. Normally that meant holding the table down for them at a club or something of the sort while they partied. Apparently, he was the hopeless case of the group, as the boys always seemed to get a hookup when he was around, saying they had brought their friend because he was lonely and needed to get out. Women tended to gush about how sweet they were, and their purses were added to his security post while they danced with the two ‘sweet guys’.

The only thing Fayth minded about this was the late hours. Once or twice he had tried to beg off from their group hangouts, but Blake nearly dwarfed him in size and a hard stare from him was like someone choking his heart in ice. It was safer just to wait it all out, which is what he tended to do, and the long nights didn’t seem to hurt his grades any, though it meant he spent his lunch hour doing homework instead of taking a lunch.

The redhead made a face at that thought, glancing down to his middle as he moved about getting ready for the day. Still in only a pair of deep emerald boxers, he could clearly see just how skinny he was. His hips were thin, the bone nearly poking out but not sharply like he hadn’t eaten in weeks. Neither did his ribcage jut out like those pictures of third world countries. He’d just inherited the small stature of his father, and the thin bone set from his mother. The thought was pushed rather violently away from his mind, his attention turning elsewhere. That was not something he wanted to think about.

~~~
The day had been uneventful, long boring classes filled with text and speeches, things he should have paid attention to. But all Fayth could think of were those purple eyes and a roguish smile. He found a small smile on himself that afternoon at the coffee shop, more and more his thoughts solidifying into a want. He was going to do something for himself for once, and it excited him. This man seemed kind and truly concerned for him when he mentioned the weather. Well, now he was home, his book bag and uniform on the floor as he stared at the little paper with his phone in hand. The numbers were in the screen already, but he was somewhat stuck on hitting send, his finger on the button but not pressing. What if it had been a cruel joke? Or maybe this was a wrong number? So deep in his thoughts, he hadn’t realized that his nervousness that had crept back had caused him to push the button, only scrambling to place the phone to his ear when he heard the dial tone. “Er, h-hello? This is Fayth, um. Leif? We er, we met at the restaurant last night.”
Leif had had a bad night, and the day that followed hadn't been any better. His mind kept drifting back to the sweet little red-head, Fayth, and all the wicked things he wanted to do him. Dang it, but he was really going to have to do something and soon or he was sure his balls would turn blue. He let out a growl as he finished work and headed home. Leif hadn't been back long when his phone caught him by surprise. Very few people called him, so he considered that it was instantly important. Picking it after only two rings despite not recognising the number he answered with a gruff, "Go for Leif."
The response stole his thoughts. “Er, h-hello? This is Fayth, um. Leif? We er, we met at the restaurant last night.” As if he needed reminding of who the guy was, there was a nervousness in his voice and suddenly Leif wondered if the guy was in trouble. "Where are you Fayth? You ok?" His tone a little harsh but mixed with genuine concern. It was probably more aggressive than he had planned but the desire to pull the guy close to him and shield from the world was something he suddenly found most appealing... yes.... away from prying eyes he could do oh so much to make the guy beg for release. s**t! Leif screwed his eyes to dismiss the thoughts. Later, much later, he had to be more controlled and persuasive before that. After all, he wasn't even sure that the guy swung that way.... but god, he hoped he did, maybe he could turn him to the dark side. The thought brought a smile to his lips, his game plan was set, now he just had to try and put it into effect.
When Leif set his eyes on a prize, he rarely let it go before he claimed it.
Sorry, I feel asleep last night too.
The slightly harsh voice made him jump, but he recognized it from the previous night, relaxing into the small beaten up sofa in his livingroom. “Ah, no, not at all. I was just well, I thought I’d get the answering machine.” Fayth finished lamely, wondering if it truly had been a good idea from the start to call. Perhaps Leif had only meant it as a friendly thing to do, a nice half attempt at kindness that was really only meant to be an empty invitation. The thought made the redhead bite his lip again, something Leif would have enjoyed had he been there. “I just, you said to call if I ever…” He trailed off, realizing he had made the conversation awkward.
Leif relaxed at the responce and couldn't help but even more pleased by the current revalations, so the guy had called jut for the hell of it... good... that was a very good sign. Especially since he was unsure of what exactly he wanted... the smile on Leif's face was nothing less than predatorial.
"I did, and I meant it." He said, softening his tone so as not to scare the guy. He sat on the arm of his sofa then, trying to figure out how to make the guy more comfortable despite the fact he called him first... hmmmm. "I was just about to go and grab some food. Wanna come?" He asked almost cautiously, adding softly, "My treat of course, you sound like you've had a rough day. Would be easier to talk in person." Probably not true but Leif wanted to come across as mostly a good guy. At least right now.
