Name: Rosette Lulu Lacour
Color: RosyBrown | #BC8F8F
Age: 14
Nationality: American (French & Native American Heritage)
Home/Financial Status: Upper-Middle Class
School:Broussard's Institution of Arts
Personality:
- Rosette comes off as a shy child. She speaks but only when spoken to directly or asked for an answer, which causes her to appear shy. However, when she's alone or with one or two really close friends the true Rosette comes out.
Her home and school life has caused Rosette to become withdrawn and quiet, she often just agrees or goes along with what she's told to do. Worrying that she's let her parents down when she brings home a grade that's a B. Or when something interests her that isn't what her parents are interested in. She often feels pushed to become one of them, to be just like they are. Yet, Rosette just wants to be a kid, and doesn't want to think about her future just yet.
The things her parents does has caused Rosette to build walls, and to hope that her parents don't find out her real dreams. She often worries when they cast each other a glance when her report card reflects anything less than an A, and the whispers she hears at night about how they're concerned she isn't interested in their professions.
Rosette is often seeking comfort in things and people she knows don't expect the world from her. While outside of her home it's her friends, inside she's seeks comfort of her stuffed animals. This has given Rosette a bit of a clingy personality as well, to cling to those that have little to no expectations from her, it gives her a secure feeling. You could almost say that Rosette has a problem with low self-esteem; which is probably very true. Since she feels she cannot talk to her parents and tell them how she feels.
When not being shy and withdrawn or overly clingy, Rosette is playful and energetic after all hiding her true self leaves her with a lot of pent of up energy. During this time she tries not to let the worries of her parents get to her, especially the worries of if she's letting them down. These few preciousness moments of the day are hers and something she often looks forward too. These moments are often after school or on weekends when it's just her and her friends out doing something for fun. Rosette lets down the walls of her fear and even encourages her friends if they're worried or afraid of something. However, she also doesn't talk about her family and her insecurities with her friends. Keeping a fake mask on trying to hide the sadness she feels of disappointing people.
Appearance:
- Rosette dresses in pastels and colors that her mother and father deems acceptable for a child of her stature. Since her parents expect her to eventually join either the bakery or her father's accounting firm both of them dress her in nice frilly clothing. Her dark colored hair is often in braids or put up in some fancy manner to keep it out of her eyes.
History:
- It took a few years for Ace to finally convince Peta that he was the man of her dreams. Mainly because Peta was so wrapped up in the joy of baking. It took a few more years before the Lacour's found themselves with more than just a bun in the bakery oven.
Ace at the time had hoped for a boy, and wanted to name the child Lu. He had plans for the boy and hoped to actually have more than just the bakery to pass on down the family line. Not to mention a son to play ball and watch sports with. However, those hopes were quickly dashed when the baby was finally born.
Peta though quickly revived Ace's hope naming the girl Rosette Lulu, since in her native language Lulu meant Rabbit. Ace had found the name a decent compromise.
Quickly as Rosette grew up she found herself surrounded by two different worlds. Not only was her father tempting her to be interested in sports and the family businesses but her mother was hoping that Rosette would also take an interest in her Native American heritage. For Rosette both worlds started overwhelming her and she felt like if she disappointed both her parents that neither would love her.
The child slowly became withdrawn and kept mostly to herself. She expressed a few interests in arts, baking and something her father showed her called "steampunk". Despite her age though she feels as if she isn't living up to what her parents expect from her. She's not a straight A student, and she has little interest in what they have interests in.
Instead of standing out in a crowd like her parents hope for her to do, Rosette has chosen to hide in the shadows. The quieter she is the less likely other people are to be let down by her 'inabilities'.
Family:
- Ace Lacour: Rosette's father. Ace is a business man, he knows the ins and outs of paper work, accounting and business laws. His family owns a bakery in town and often Ace will be their financial adviser since he's a horrible cook. He first met Peta when he was home on a break from college and found her working in his parents bakery. It was love at first sight for Ace. He now runs his own firm helping businesses manage their finances, do their taxes and other mundane tasks that business owners themselves can get overwhelmed with.
Peta Lacour: Rosette's mother. Peta works in the Lacour bakery. She's often helping Ace's mother run the baking side of things. The bakery is where Peta first met Ace and she hopes one day she'll be entrusted to keep the Lacour family business going. Peta often claims the bakery is her first love and that Ace had to convince her of why she should love him. She's often found laughing this off while teaching her beloved Rosette how to bake.
