"UNLEASHED"

'Unleashed' kicks off a monthly run that brings new content, new features, new stories and new characters to The Secret World and to subscribers. The first issue is packed with missions, Nightmare mode dungeons, the highly anticipated Marketplace and other updates -- and this is just the beginning!

NEW MISSIONS!

>> Carter Unleashed: An action mission set at the Innsmouth Academy on Solomon Island, where the player gets to know more about the exceptionally gifted student Carter. Exploring the hallway below the academy, Carter will need help controlling her powers -- before they get completely out of hand.
>> Crime and Punishment: Bestselling horror author Sam Krieg came to Solomon Island to write his latest novel -- but there's more to it than that. Through this investigation, the player will dig into Krieg's works and the mind of an obsessed fan to learn more about the dark and hidden history of Solomon Island.
>> Hell & Bach: Daredevil reporter Daniel Bach is working on the story of all stories, his shot at finally winning a Pulitzer. For years, he's been chasing the ghost of Theodore Wicker, only to end up trapped at the Overlook Motel outside Kingsmouth Town. But Wicker's story doesn't end here -- nor did it start here. Following the bread crumbs back in time, the player will investigate the mystery of Wicker, and learn more about what brought him to the gates of hell...and beyond.
>> Funeral Crasher: Eleanor Franklin only has her cats and her ghosts to keep her company at her mansion in Blue Mountain -- and now the ghosts are getting restless. When the dead themselves are spooked, the living must pay heed.
>> The 3rd Age: There have been Ages before ours, and the evidence lies beneath. In Egypt, the sand is thin, and the remnants of past Ages are beginning to spread their influence across the world. The Seven Sentinels hold the key to an investigation that begins in the present, and delves deep into the distant past.
>> Red Handed: It wasn't chance that brought Dr Varias to this distant part of the Carpathians at this particular point in time. Following in his father's footsteps, Varias is attempting to unravel the mystery of the Red Hand. Why did they build a vast facility beneath this desolate region? What were they doing here? And how was Varias' father involved? In this investigation, we answer some burning questions about this secret Soviet era genetic research project -- and how it ties into the events of the present.

But that's not all! Another mission awaits observant players on Solomon Island -- one that explores a character that may be more than she pretends to be...


NEW NIGHTMARE MODE DUNGEONS!

Two dungeons are receiving new Nightmare modes: The Ankh and Hell Fallen.

Increased challenges, increased rewards, and a chance to test new builds, new synergies and to put your team to the test against some of the toughest and fiercest challenges in The Secret World!

Who will be the first to conquer The Ankh and Hell Fallen in Nightmare mode? When 'Unleashed' is unleashed, we will find out!


THE MARKETPLACE!

Unleashed also contains the brand new, cross-dimensional Marketplace, allowing players to sell, trade and ship items to other players, no matter where they're playing. The Marketplace will be an integral part of The Secret World's growing economy, giving players more flexibility when it comes to how they equip their characters, and how they procure PAX.


AND MORE!

Of course, issue #1 is jam-packed with other updates and changes -- and astute players may even notice the ongoing construction in New York, London and Seoul, as new tenants prepare to move in. The Secret World is a LIVING world, and it will keep growing and changing through this issue and all upcoming, monthly issues.

And this is only the beginning. Issue #2 is already on its way, and if you like this month's content, you're going to LOVE what's next! Dr Aldini is sharpening his scalpels, the Ockham triplets are readying their scissors and razors, and the first auxiliary weapon is being assembled -- so stay tuned for August's major update, to be revealed soon!

'Digging Deeper' is jam-packed with content, including new character customisation options, the plastic surgery and barbershop, new investigation and action missions...and last (but definitely not least) our first auxiliary weapon: the rocket launcher!

AUXILIARY WEAPON #1: THE ROCKET LAUNCHER!

Introducing a brand new weapon, featuring seven brand new abilities, wrapped in a brand new auxiliary wheel!

With the addition of a third weapon and eighth ability hot-bar slot, you can now augment your existing decks with the awesome might of the rocket launcher. The rocket launcher that goes 'Boom!'.

More details will be revealed very soon -- and this is just the first of many auxiliary weapons to come! We're already working on the next one…and The Secret World should prepare for a real Texas-style massacre. Rrrrrreeeennnennennnennnnn!


THE MODERN PROMETHEUS!

Inside an abandoned abattoir in the bowels of Brooklyn, the infamous Dr Anton Aldini (Peter Stormare) has set up his paraplastic surgery -- the Modern Prometheus -- and on September 11th, his practice will be open for business.

With the Modern Prometheus, we're introducing new heads and new facial features, allowing players to completely alter the way their characters look. The first visit is free, but subsequent nips and tucks will cost PAX. Coupons will also be made available in the item store for those players who are short on in-game cash.


OCKHAM'S RAZOR!

Unhappy with your hairstyle? With your beard or moustache? Your makeup? At Ockham's Razor in London, you can change them all!

Doubling the number of available hairstyles, players can use in-game cash (PAX) or coupons purchased in the item store to alter their 'do, facial hair or makeup.


NEW MISSIONS!

Mission Pack #2 -- part of September's issue -- adds new investigation missions, the auxiliary weapon mission, and lair action missions to the game:

>> 'Digging Deeper' continues the story that began with The Kingsmouth Code, and sends players back to Pastor Henry Hawthorne at the Kingsmouth Congregational to dig deeper into the town's secret history and Illuminati legacy
>> In 'Death and Axes', players learn more about Sophie's close connection with the spirit world. In Transylvania's Besieged Farmlands, the dead are restless, and Sophie is increasingly sensitive to their pain -- causing Cern some concern for her well-being, and sending players on an investigation into the terrible events that have transpired here
>> 'Strangers from a Strange Land' introduces players to the ancient history of Solomon Island, going back to when the island was visited by Norsemen in their longboats, a thousand years ago. This investigation begins with Red (of Red's Bait & Tackle) and introduces players to a pair of famous talking ravens from Norse mythology...
>> In Transylvania, Iele -- the guardian of the Shadowy Forest -- needs the player's help in order to revive her 'Singing Stones' and fight the growing infection that threatens this delicate magical sanctuary
>> Acquiring the first auxiliary weapon -- the rocket launcher -- won't be a cakewalk. In the first of a series of exciting auxiliary weapon missions, players will work with the Council of Venice to retrieve a highjacked shipment of rocket launchers. During the course of this mission, players face powerful new Orochi technology, travel to a brand new location, and come face to face with the two-faced Phoenicians

And these are just some of the missions that will be made available as part of Mission Pack #2!


NEW NIGHTMARE MODE DUNGEONS!

Two additional dungeons are receiving Nightmare modes in issue #2: The Facility and Hell Eternal.

Further testing the extreme limits of the players' abilities, these new additions bring new challenges and new rewards to The Secret World.

HIGHLIGHTS

Two new missions are available with Issue #3:
>> 'The Binding', which brings you to the City of the Sun God in Egypt to learn more about the Seven Sentinels. This truly epic investigation mission is definitely one of the most challenging and extensive.
>> 'Dogs of War' plays on the mounting conflict between the vampires and their allies. Use your wits and battle prowess to instigate a war between the werewolves and the vampires.

There are also a full set of new Lair missions available!

The Cat God himself, after whom Issue #3 is named, will make his appearance in October as we are getting closer to Halloween. The Halloween event will run through the end of October and into the first week of November, and will include several missions which set off a brand new storyline including a new villain. So there'll be plenty of opportunities to take on the challenge and learn what's behind this new, dark threat to The Secret World come October!

GENERAL

> Fixed an issue that caused some nVidia users to occasionally experience a Stop Error (BSOD) when zoning.
> Fixed an issue with leech heals. "Reap and Sew" has been re-enabled.
> Female hairstyles should no longer be offset by one in the list during character creation. ‘Sideswept Twist’ is no longer showing twice in the list of hair styles available for female characters.
> Agartha: The portal to Hell Eternal (Elite) is now easier to access.
> All of the faction marks have been updated to make them more visible.
> Fixed an issue with hair clipping through some hats.
> The ‘Close shaved’ hairstyle for males no longer shows over the character ears when viewed from the side.
> Mark of the Templar and Mark of Blood no longer have the same visual effect on a target.
> Social pets: The "Tabby-Cat" has been more accurately renamed "Calico Cat"
> Fixed an issue with some shadows in The Shadowy Forest.
> You can now swap weapons when you do not have one drawn.

MARKETPLACE / BANK

> Fixed an issue with in-game messages that could not be received by some players.
> Deleting a mail without removing an attachment first will no longer cause the item to eternally remain in sender's bank.
> Added a message warning users if they are the last member leaving their cabal, that anything left in the cabal bank will be lost.
> Fixed the possibility of visually displaying very large expiration times in the marketplace.

GUI

> Saved gamma settings will now load properly.
> Shared gear manager builds do now appear correctly in the GUI.

DUNGEONS

> The Facility: When Nodes get smashed you now immediately lose the buff if you are already inside the radius.
> Darkness War - Wayeb-Xul: Bomb Mayans should now always explode at 0 HP.
> Hell Raised: The Black Iron Artefacts no longer sound like they are machine-guns.

MISSIONS

> Dawning of an Endless Night: To lessen the inventory clutter, we removed the Deep Shaft key from the Illuminati box in the Franklin's mansion. Players that already have the key will still lose it upon finishing tier 17 of Dawning of an Endless Night.
> Into the Darkness (Dragon): The Phoenician agent now sounds like he’s been corrupted by the filth.

New York
> Mainframe: The entry field shown during tier 4 now provides information on how to enter data.

Kingsmouth Town
> Death and the Instruments thereof: the diesel tank is no longer temporarily locked by other players.

Blue Mountain
> Detritus Prime should appear more reliably in tier 1, though he still enjoys long walks in the bog.
> The Haunting: Thomas is back in the fight during ‘Protect Margret and Thomas’ in tier 3.

Carpathian Fangs
> The Motherlands: Fixed an issue with one mapmarker.
> Stalker in the Darkness no longer resets during the fight.
> Too Deep: Thirsting Shades will now provide the proper update when killed.
> Too Deep: Metamorphosing Shades will now provide credit to all players involved in their death.
> Too Deep – Tier 3: The mission goal now correctly instructs the player to kill a Shade from Beyond.
> There are no Flowers in Pricolesti: Interacting with the mobile phone will now provide team credit.

Besieged Farmlands
> The Forest God is no longer holding an invisible mug throughout the cinematic during tier 2.

The Shadowy Forest
> Singing Stones - There is now an animation played when picking up a melody from a stone from tier 1.
> Hungry like the Wolves - Tier 1: The Lone Wolf now shows a proper animation when he rotates to wait for you and when he returns to his patrol path.

City of the Sun God
> Akir the Sun Guardian will now visit the City of the Sun God once in a while!

The Scorched Desert
> Black Sun, Red Sand: There is now a visual indication that the tablet is "locked" for use while the guardian is alive during tier 4.

ABILITIES

> You can no longer change a build in the gear manager while an ability is on cooldown.
> Perseverance should now trigger on activation of Frenzy abilities regardless of the result.
> The grenades from ability ‘Dirty Bombs’ are now placed on the ground when possible.

Blade
> Updated the tooltip for On Guard to say that the effect can stack up to 5 times instead of 10.

Fists
> Reckless will no longer be triggered by Canonball.
> Warmth now consistently works on other targets and it no longer requires you have put points into Follow Up to function properly.

Rocket Launcher
> The animation for the Big Red Button ability no longer shakes the character for a second or two in the beginning.

WORLD DESIGN

Blue Mountain
> Getting between the scaffolding and the wall in the casino won't make you slide out of control anymore.
