Bio: Mathias and his twin brother Nick grew up as orphans in the small fishing and mining town of Silver Cove, the northernmost settlement on the continent. They watched the town blacksmith every chance they got, and practiced fighting with each other when they weren't. As they grew older, they grew more and more skilled: Mathias in the way of the sword, and Nick in the way of the bow (although he always complained that arrows were too slow, and he always missed at crucial moments). Their standing grew in the town when they helped defend it from a werewolf attack, and they eventually opened their own blacksmith shop. Mathias quickly developed into the best smith in the town, whose swords and armor were prized by everyone. Nick was just as good at everything until the shaping of whatever they were making, when he fell short. One day, two fierce elementals (electric and air) attacked, and they barely defeated them, somehow each gaining one of the powers in the process. When the king caught word of this, he commisioned them as mercenaries, and they moved to Salience. It was rather uneventful for them, a rogue vampire here, a goblin encampment there, until AICo. attacked Salience. Nick and Mathias helped push them back, but were captured at the last moment and taken to Armory Island for research into their abilities. With the help of Lazarus, who had decieved their captors for about a year, they broke free and stole several books about guns during the escape. When they returned to Salience, Nick pored over the books and went through a horrendous trial-and-error process. When he came out, however, he was a gunsmith, his latent talent realized.
