Well, folks, we need more discussion in this guild, and you all clearly suck at it so I'm gonna see if I can jumpstart some conversation with a new and shiny topic.
So we all know about Kingdom Hearts, which has quickly turned into a small but very good RPG series based on Disney movies and cartoons (still holding out for some Gargoyles action. ******** lame-a** Pirates of the Carribean s**t, gimme Goliath). Super Mario RPG is a monstrously fun RPG. Then there are anime-to-RPGs like the Tenchi Muyo RPG, the Magic Knight Rayearth RPG, the Dragon Ball Z RPG, and Sailor Moon: Another Story (easily the best of the lot). Oh, and that .hack nonsense. And finally, there's the incredible Knights of the Old Republic series, RPGs based off of Star Wars and being awesome every second of the way.
Many of these games are really good, and only a few of them sucked (although really, how much can you expect from an RPG based around DBZ anyway? It turned out better than the show anyway, and half of it was still in Japanese when I played it). So, what would you like to see made into an RPG that's not already? What animes, movies, books, cartoons, whatever?
Me, I have 2 ideas on it:
1. A Justice League Unlimited RPG. Oh man. Tell me it wouldn't be awesome to have Green Lantern be doing holy-elemental Green blasts and s**t while you pummelled Darkseid with Super punches. They could do so damn much with an idea like this.
2. A game, based on a movie/anime, based on/inspired by a game. Like, an RPG version of FF7AC, or FFTLotC, or FFU, or FFTSW, or Wild Arms: Twilight Venom. Just for sake of awesome irony. Like way back when Capcom made a Street Fighter 2: The Movie fighting game.

Ess Tii Eph Yuu Like way back when Capcom made a Street Fighter 2: The Movie fighting game. Well, I dunno if we want more games like that one. Oh, right, the CONCEPT. Still, can you imagine the RPG version of the Super Mario Bros. movie? It'd be painful, though, at least there's the idea of upgradable jumping boots. At Boot Meisters. Yes.

The part that scared me is that I kept thinking of how bad some of these games could be...
They probably already have like, five games already out in Japan but, 'Chobits; the Video Game!' would follow pretty close to the anime plot, but also have little manditory sidequests to do, "Quick Sumomo, you must help Chi get a pair of panties before Hideki passes out from over-arousal!" "Keep pressing the X button to keep Chi's knee's together so the pervert at the Porn set can't push her 'special button'!"
I feel dirty just for typing that. sweatdrop
I would love a game based off of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, well, one that's actually based off the characters in the books and not that lame computer game with the Aes Sedai who can't channel and the Whitecloak (Congrats! you just got a game with a lousy witch and a KKK member as your characters! Don't you feel special?), though playing as the Forsaken might've been fun if we could've actually unlocked him. I want to be able to run Rand, Mat, and Perrin through their adventures, picking up extra charaters along the way like Lan, Moirane, Egwene, Nynaeve, and Thom, starting from the Night before Bel Tine and getting to the Eye of the World. 'Course that's only the first game.
I'd also love to have a new Xanth game From Piers Anthony's longest running series, since I missed the computer one that came out in the early 90's (or was it late 80's). Man, if they made this into an MMORG... Getting to chose from the 'normal' races (human, centaur, naga, merfolk, goblin, ogre, elf, probably some way to make mixed races without godding yourself out), should have some way to randomly decide the talent for the humans and centuars so we don't have an influx of magicians and sorceresses, and travel around magical, Florida-shaped Xanth. And, at some point of another, you must visit Good Magician Humphrey (complete with the three challenges) with a question to get you started on your quests.
I think those would be pretty fun to play, but I'm kinda weird like that.

A StrategyRPG composed out of a crossover of all 80's western cartoons really done in Japanese studios. Just imagine the nostalgic glory that would seep from the very disc like pure, unadulterated amazing. Simply touching the game would be like licking the back of one of those drug-frogs from the amazon. Hell, NamcoXCapcom was a great game even if it made as much sense as a Japanese Engrish shirt so I'm pretty damned sure that this isn't such a stupid idea. Plus, there will be TRANSFORMERS.
Like, come on!
TRANSFORMERS.

I personally would want them to bring more of the RPGs out in the US before they make more that I'll never be able to play...

Ess Tii Eph Yuu So, what would you like to see made into an RPG that's not already? What animes, movies, books, cartoons, whatever? A Parasite Eve-style adaptatation of Silent Mobius would be interesting, though the story would have to be reworked just a tad to make it viable as a one-player game (but obviously it should focus on Ganossa's controlling the Lucifer Hawks and general villainy). Choose to play as any one of the A.M.P. officers, having the story diverge and merge at varying points depending on which girl you choose to play with.
Now, turning this question on it's head, you know which RPG I'd like to see transfered into another media? Fallout. It's just begging for a movie or comic adaptation.

Zodiac Brave Taurus Now, turning this question on it's head, you know which RPG I'd like to see transfered into another media? Fallout. It's just begging for a movie or comic adaptation. Hell ******** YEAH. Speak that truth loud and clear! Although honestly, I think a comic adaptation would be necessary--movies cannot correctly portray such a complex thing as Fallout without losing the all-important tiny and large references to American culture, which, while totally trivial, are nonetheless absolutely essential. A shame the medium of comics bores me, of course, but I bet for Fallout I could read anything.

It'd be fun to learn all the characters, too. Kiddy would all smash 'em up, Lebia would have hacking tools and abilities... That'd be pretty fun. I could see it working, too. Perhaps you have to play as all of the A.M.P. girls, just at different times?

I could see it working, too. Perhaps you have to play as all of the A.M.P. girls, just at different times? See, I thought of that (the 'playing as all the girls' thing, not the 'you're awesome' thing), but I think that in the end it'd hurt the replay value. There is always going to be a character (or several characters) that one doesn't like to play through a game with, and character selection helps negate that (unless you need to beat the game with all characters to open some sort of special feature, but even then you can play through once with that character and then forget about them). I'm thinking that concurrent story paths with some shared areas and missions would be best (sort of like SaGa Frontier, only this game would not be generally hated).
...and as an aside, I love Silent Mobius. I have all twelve graphic novels, the first of which has been my staff pick for the last two months at the store I work in (and it's staying up until somebody buys it, dangit). 3nodding

I'd like a good Gundam RPG, but that'll never happen in the US.

A game like that would be preeeetty awesome. (It'd take me forever to play Yumi and Nami's stories, though, heh. Does Rally get one too? heart ) I actually have 12 currently in my backpack, waiting for the riiight time to read and finally finish the series. I've been borrowing them from a friend, because I've been meaning to read 'em/see it for...well, years now.

I think a Hellsing rpg would be pretty cool, an cloud possible explain Alucard proply unlike the anime or manga series did.
Maybe an online Battle Royal rgp could be funny. If you actually had 3 real life day or something of a battle within a private network, and rather then 30 people maybe 200 or something.
