Bio: Lila was born in Lavender Town, her mother died at childbirth and her father gave her up shortly after. She was born almost completely deaf and can only hear enough to know when to read lips( with the help of hearing aids). But nature as they say has a way of balancing things out. Lila much like Sabrina and her psychic trainers, was born with abilities inherited from her mother, she would stare at people as a child and despite her hearing impairment somewhat knew what they said to her, knowing without knowing how what they were thinking rather than saying, things would break around her often(which she was punished for) and she would draw a dead pidgey and later that evening they would find one on the road.
Because she was a ward of the state she was never given speech therapy. Hence why she doesn't talk. As a kid she was often teased and called stupid and witch and weird-o and retard and other such lovely phrases about both her hearing and her gift kids can come up when they're being jerks. She was often a nervous wreck, things broke around her, people felt uneasy which only made her more anxious.
As you could guess adoption day wasn't all that fun for her.
This went on until she was 8. Danielle Abforth, one of Sabrina's psychics found her and took her in, taking her back to Saffron City and the psychic's institute. Here Lila found a home, a place to be accepted. She learned more about herself and how to control her abilities ( which weren't strong but like anything uncontrolled caused her trouble) rather than let her control her.
As she grew however it became apparent living in the institute was also having it's drawbacks for her. She became anti-social and disliked having people around her that weren't from the institute since she couldn't 'think' to them and could usually tell their thoughts about her weren't pleasant. She was always with her ralts or her laptop or her notebook or flute ( always doing things by herself) she refused to speak or take speech therapy either thinking or signing or 'texting' her words instead, making it hard for others to reach out to her. She seldom left the institute unless forced to.
The people who had taken her in feared that like Sabrina she would isolate herself, and limit herself with her abilities ( though their nowhere near as powerful her behavior is the same) and decided it would be best she go to school with other children, hoping she would come out her shell a bit. Arceus Academy was chosen because of how well it is spoken of. The Psychics at Sabrina's institute hope Lila won't be treated the way she was in the orphanage. That she will understand that not all people who aren't like her will treat her badly and that she will make connections with others and hopefully make friends like any kid her age should. They requested she be able to take her Ralts with her due to her...condition and that she may catch it with one of the pokeballs from the starter kit so she will have one less pokeball like some of the students had done in the past.( this was a bit of a deal breaker for Lila who like many children who get sent to boarding schools against their will didn't take this whole 'school thing' so well ) It was also asked that her gift be kept a secret ( another reason Arceus was selected was because they were trusted to handle the matter delicately) as it's really not that big a deal and would only call too much attention to it. They want it to be Lila's choice whether she ever talks about it.
Personality: Quiet(doesn't talk), withdrawn, can be mischievous and even friendly once you get to know her. Socially awkward and hard to befriend. Very elusive. Because she knows what people really think she can spot a lie rather easily and because everyone lies at one point or another she sometimes doesn't even bother trying to talk people ( even though she's not always right about them and they might surprise her if given the chance) She's a bit creepy. Or a lot, depending on how you see her. She's wary of people especially big groups because of what she wen trough as a kid.
The one thing to know about her abilities is, yes she's a psychic. No she's not a mutant or a superhero. At this point(and this probably won't change until she's well into her late teens/early 20s) she's hardly strong enough to do much. She 'thinks' to her pokemon the same way anyone would talk to them,and only with her ralt's help. It's one way only, they can't think back to her unless they're psychic. She cannot use it to cheat in battle since once her ralts is recalled she isn't strong enough to reach other people's pokemon let alone have anything resembling a conversation. With people it's a bit easier, she might be able to make contact if she concentrates but right now it's a bit straining ( she has to concentrate for however long the conversation lasts. That's a lot of words) and she won't do it. ( I mean would you? When you can just text faster and without the headache? ) The closest she might get to a mental conversation would be using her ralts to 'talk' to people. And unless it's a life or death thing she won't do anything at all because she knows how people might react to it. She'll either use her phone or ASL. She won't go around advertising especially not to people she just met, she doesn't want a repeat of her earlier childhood for something that isn't even that note worthy. She does not get visions, she might draw something or read a fortune from her cards but even she can't tell what they mean right now. And it's not likely to happen. It's an extremely rare occasion. She gets a feeling of when someone is not trustworthy just like anyone else has 'gut-feelings' about people (hers are just a bit stronger)
At the end of it all she's just a kid who was born different, who isn't really all that better or worse than anyone because of it, and if you manage to befriend her and don't mind reading instead of hearing she'll talk to you.

Hobbies: Tarot Cards; Reading Manga; Drawing; Playing with her pokemon; Playing the flute( her ralts uses telepathy to let her hear how it sounds). Playing Computer games (WoW is her favorite). Typing ( not even kidding she can go 60 to 65 WPM. Makes her good at computer games and her assignments are turned by email) She plays with a coin when she's bored passing it between her fingers in such a way that sometimes it seems to be floating (though if you look again it seems a trick) Collecting crystals and rocks (nothing to do with the whole psychic thing, but she likes them), watching anime. Dancing (because she can 'feel' the music if she turns her headphones on real loud) Listening to loud and fast paced music.
