So, if you've seen my thread asking a question, you'll know that I'm currently in the process of writing a roleplaying tutorial for the guild. Now, I'd like a practice roleplay to be part of that, but I need something to base it on! So, I'm asking you. What do you think it should be?

A Glass Passenger How about the cafe thats currently running? I'd like to do something different, since this isn't really going to be an advertising thing, it's going to be more for instructional purposes. A practice roleplay more than anything.

Like Moo said, I think we should focus on the cafe right now, since it's just taking off.
Plus, there will be the Casino thread for some RP practice as well. And the Host Clubs.
Although a practice RP thread would be nice if you wanted to practice something with a set plot, since the cafe, the casino thread and the host clubs are all loose RPs with not set plot. I want to make the host clubs a little more structured and a little more plot, but they're still chill, you know?
But otherwise, if we do continue this practice RP, I think we should go with the Dream Worlds, something fantasy and fancy. ^^ Like fairies and etc.

I was just thinking to have something structured where nobody's going to flip out and call people illiterate noobs. It's going to be more for beginners who want to ease into roleplaying, but everyone's welcome. It's an add-on to my tutorial.
Plus, this way I can specifically see how people who have used the tutorial are doing and offer any extra help if needed.
Those roleplays are awesome, but they're official and for non-guildmembers, this is going to be just for us. No pressure of bringing people or funds in.

I've seen a few RPs like you are suggesting lady Violet, I've been a part of some in SDRP (School of Dedicated Role-Players) and what I have found is the easiest setting to bring people into an idea and let them practice is a classic fantasy setting.
I know of a nice little intro RP in another guild with a great little small plot in such a setting. It takes place in an Inn, where all the adventurous would come to relax, find a place to sleep, tell stories for a drink, flirt with other adventurous, or find a new quest. The opening post sets the scene with details players would likely have to address as the entered or ideas that would be placed to help spark someones mind. The fun little detail in this Inn, was the door had an odd spell trick to it that for some reason had everyone bumping their nose into the door before it opened. This meant everyone who came in would need to address that detail in some way and then move on. This common idea would give some players things to talk about for a starting conversation to begin interaction with another player. The rule was only your first post could have no interaction with another player. After the first post you must interact with someone else in the RP. It is a nice idea and is able to be picked up whenever needed because there is no set monster to fight or task to complete.

Keep in mind the thread may be slow moving, though, because I think most of us will focus on the planning part. I would think it'll start boosting in activity in the April/May time period where we're mostly done and are just waiting a bit. I dunno. That's just me.
Ahh, maybe we can try to get the RP mentorship back, like what KissMeHappy did in the 8th? It was a really cool idea, except I didn't join because it was a while back when I first began RPing and I didn't want to teach people the wrong thing! XDD

I figured it'd be slow, and I don't mind. If I get bored, I have other stuff to do. -glares at plotting notebook for NaNoWriMo-

I've role-played a lot on Gaia, and I'd love to help out the newer people. (it's also a good idea for me to be more involved in this guild sweatdrop )
