The tall and graceful walls of the high council was usually very amazing in it's splendor. If on any normal day. This night was different.
Every surface shined as bright as the moon above. Tables laid out and lined with feast and chilled blood. Waiters mingled with the guests giving wines of the expensive verity.
Beautiful dresses and costumes blossomed in colors around the halls, masks hiding faces in an odd eerie way.
Welcome to the masquerade.

Entering the ballroom, Marcus looked around, whistling softly under his mask as he spun his staff about in his hand. Going as a Greek god meant wearing a toga, but a pair of white shorts was plenty enough to keep from having a wardrobe malfunction. His only real complaint was that he was wearing rather drafty clothes, which meant his tattoos would be seen and that he woul be chilly. To him, however, it would be worth it.

This was the first time Syn had ever been into the high council and she felt uncomfortable. The two had gotten much hatred and threats in the past for their love and refusal to separate. Yet they still walked with their heads high. It was a good day if it meant the war would be over. Destiny and Bly slowly mingled among the guests as they walked in, keeping their eyes out for trouble. They where hired to keep trouble down to a minimum. Sophia sat nervously in her chair waiting. She nodded to all who entered but couldn't seem to get rid of the pit in her stomach. Happily she took the offered cup of blood.

Rachel slipped in, not sure she was allowed into this place but figured she could, seeing as the post was put up in a general place. She carefully walked along in her costume with her mask on, shyly looking for someone she knew. ~ Ray and Jackson walked along, not noticing anyone they knew as they headed for a punch bowl. Seeing someone else dressed as a Greek god, Marcus smiled under his mask, making his way over. "And to what do I owe the honor of the Goddess of love and beauty being here?"

Rachel blinked a little and smiled. "Oh...hello Hermes...I've just come for the festivities and such..." She gave him a bit of a grin and politely bowed a bit. "And you? Why might you be here?"

Syn smiled happily under her own mask, though quickly stopped as it was apparent no one would know if she was actually smiling or even sticking her tongue out. Sophia shifted in her seat as the nobles was seated and the more everyday people began to pour in. The costumes where lovely. Colors and figures from all shades of life and death, wild and tamed alike. The twins drifted from one side of the ball room to the next. Trained ears picking up bits of conversation. They glided in the gauze of dancing, secretly taking delight in the other's embrace.
