With Serif's intense research and academic goals, he has found it necessary to detach himself from his work. He enjoys long walks through the sunflower fields of Autumnleaf Town and hopes see a Sunflora, a rare pokemon in the Tohen region. The friendly and empathetic nature of Sunflora has always been relatable to Serif and his resplendent demeanour.
Biography
Serif Isherwood is an aspiring Pokemon Researcher. He aims to find a permanent cure for the chronic and fatal Pokerus disease, after his father's beloved Noctowl died from the infection. Serif didn't start a pokemon adventure when he was ten, like most children, instead he focused on his education and research into the Pokerus virus. At the age of nineteen, Serif finally realised he would need the help of pokemon to fulfil his life's ambition.
Due to Serif's remarkable intellect, he got his PhD in pokemon medicine at the remarkable age of eighteen. His disertation was titled 'Contra effects of Pokerus' where his research found that although Pokerus initally proved to be useful in training pokemon, the strain actually causes the subjected pokemon's thyroid gland to become overactive. This causes increased blood pressure and inevitably heart failure. Due to his demanding studies, he was unable to begin his pokemon journey.
Now Serif has returned to his hometown of Autumnleaf to seek the help of Professor Runo and get his first pokemon!
