wild wulfie of the forest So, I have the majority of an Amumu build but I'm just not too sure on the last couple of items ^^; If i could get some help, that would be great~ So far I have: Frozen Heart Sunfire Cape Unholy Grail Hourglass if i could get some help on the last 2 items, I'd be very grateful~ Here's my Amumu build, and the reasoning behind it - feel free to customize it or pick and choose items. I'll throw some ideas around about your build as well.
Philosopher's Stone --> Shurelia's Reverie Heart of Gold --> Randuin's Omen Mercury's Treads Banshee's Veil Will of the Ancients/Aegis of the Legion Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Philo-->Shurelia's The Philosopher's stone is rushed early on, to provide mana regen for your jungle route. It ensures that you won't run out of mana while giving blue buff to your mid lane. The extra income is also a huge help.
The Philo could optionally be sold for something else since your support should be grabbing Shurelia's, but sometimes a second speed boost is useful. It's nice to have it for initiating or disengaging without having to rely on your support, and sometimes you can steal objectives with its surprising burst of speed.
Heart of Gold --> Randuin's I prefer Randuin's infinitely over Frozen Heart. The two serve very similar roles, but Randuin's has the added benefit of heavily punishing any AD champion that tries to attack you.
HoG early should be obvious, the bonus health is very useful and the gold income is also nice.
Mercury's Treads There's really no reason to ever get any other boots on Amumu. Maybe Tabi, occasionally Mobilities just for the surprise factor, but for the most part, Merc's are the most reliable.
Banshee's Veil Can be readily substituted for Force of Nature, but Banshee's insures that you get that perfect ultimate off instead of getting stunned or otherwise cc'd and having to make do with a subpar one.
WotA/Aegis Ideally your support will grab Aegis, but maybe they're behind or maybe your team would benefit much more from a Zeke's or something. Aegis does provide plenty in early-game tankiness for yourself, and helps a huge amount in teamfights.
WotA is my own "unique" item for Amumu. Everything else on this set is pretty standard, but WotA is my weird item. Hear me out here: You might think after the poor mummy's AP Ratio nerfs, WotA isn't as much help. But the AP is really largely irrelevant. The spellvamp is what's important:
It helps keep your AP carry alive. Not a huge deal if they're a burst caster like LeBlanc, but if they're a sustained damage caster like Ryze or Cassio (Especially if they don't normally build WotA), it helps immensely.
But Condatis! Why can't your support grab it? Well, they could. But on yourself? You have the added benefit of always having the spellvamp. Since Despair does % health damage, the spellvamp will quickly rack up over the course of a teamfight. Combined with FoN, WotA provides a massive amount of health regen.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter The most easily replaceable part of the build. Rylai's is practically irrelevant if your team is ahead, since Curse of the Sad Mummy + Randuin's keeps the enemy snared or slowed long enough for your team to send then fleeing back to their base, hopefully missing several members. Especially with the AP Ratio nerfs, I'd readily replace Rylai's. However, it does help offset the slight lack of health in this build. If you're going to replace it, I recommend one of the giant's belt items. Maybe even warmog's if you went FoN over Banshee's.
If you do decide to pick it up, you'll find that it gives you amazing chasing capabilities for driving one or both of their carries out of the fight, or for severely hindering the mobility of enemies in the teamfight.
----- Now I'll take a look at your item choices: -----
Frozen Heart A solid choice in many cases, usually where Randuin's active is not enough to keep their carries disabled - so it's good when the enemy has multiple AD carries. (i.e. Tryndamere + any ranged AD) Why? Because once Randuin's active is gone, it doesn't help at all unless their AD carries are attacking you. If they're decent, they won't be. Rylai's will help you stick to them and hopefully provoke them into attacking you, but it's not a sure bet. Frozen heart's massive armor pool is also nice. However, I usually prefer Randuin's for its movespeed slow.
Sunfire Cape A once ubiquitous item that was nerfed and fell out of favor. Now, it's been seeing play again. The health pool is nice, the armor is nice, and the build path is easy and painless.
The extra damage can be useful, but for the most part it's too miniscule to be doing much later on, so it's best when rushed. Which brings up problems of lacking MR, though the health helps mitigate that somewhat.
I'd say it's good for when you actually need to be able to kill things and can't trust your team to clean up while you're causing chaos, or when your team is slightly lacking on the damage department.
Unholy Grail To be honest, I don't particularly like this choice. I've seen it a bit on 'mumu recently, but I don't really get it. The MR is pretty miniscule, the AP doesn't help much after the nerfs, and the mana regen is supreme overkill. Philo/Shurelia's should be plenty of regen. I suppose if you sell Philo instead of building it, Grail could be a replacement. I'd rather go for something else though.
Hourglass Drop it for sure. The AP doesn't help much, the armor is nice but not worth the slot. The active is practically worthless - as a tank, if you're getting focused to the point of actually possibly dying, you should've won the teamfight.
If you got focused AND your team lost the teamfight, your team sucks. GG. If your entire team just got wiped and NOW you're dying, well maybe your team isn't that great but you're also not doing your job of keeping their carries off of your carries. Hope this helped!

Thanks Maestro~ I'll definitely be trying out your suggestions~ Oh, and just for those who are wanting to know why I picked these Items: Frozen Heart: Nice Cooldown bonus for Amumu's Ult, very nice ability to slow down the attack speed of the enemy, mana, and Armor Hourglass: Mostly for the ability because i was getting focused on quite a bit :/ definitely not the best choice though Sunfire Cape: Usually what i tried to get first so I could quickly farm minions Grail: Mostly for the massive amount of mana regen so I could essentially keep up Despair But yeah, definitely going to try these suggestions out ^^ Thanks again~
