There is a little bit of debate about who exactly, and what exactly Anton is, where he came from, and why it all happened. I feel like a bad storyteller for not explaining everything to every one from the start because I wasn't really trying to hide it. Anton is annoying, crass and immature and there are times I don't even like him so I doubt anyone will care to read this, but I feel it needs to be written down for the sake of canon.


1. Who are his parents exactly?

That's... complicated, but I will do my best to answer.

The base creature that became Anton was a fetus conceived by Xio and Hima during the American civil war. Hima miscarried the child due to an injury sustained from gunfire. The attending physician was her father in disguise, who had intended to steal the baby at birth. Her father spent decades trying to give the child life and finally succeeded with the help of Marelyn's devil magic.

However, the blood used for the magic was Hima's father's and he became the baby's biological father.


2. Wait, so Anton is Hima's son and brother?

Yes and no. Very little of Hima's DNA is left in Anton either. He is almost solely Liam (her father's) child.


3. Why does Hima refer to him as her son?

When Hima's mother took the baby from her ex-husband and Marelyn she was unaware of how they brought him back. She couldn't tell Hima what she didn't know. As far as they know he is the son of Hima and Xio.


4. Illy can't sire, but she sired Anton. I thought you were the lore master.

That isn't a question. And Illy didn't sire Anton. Anton wasn't sired.

While even I sometimes forget, Illyana is still a phylactery for Liam. When she almost killed Anton on accident his soul decided to intervene, mostly for its own amusement. Using some seriously hinky magic he transferred his biological vamperism (Earth 1 variety, y'all) to Anton.


5. Wait, wait, wait, how is he human if Illy and Hima's dad is a high elf?

When Marelyn and Liam brought him back to life he was made human on the grounds that if he wanted immortality he was going to have to earn it.


6. How did he end up in the Outerverse as an amnesiac child?

Universe hopping ritual that went wrong. Unlike Hima, whose memories were stored away as a reality hopping safety precaution, Anton simply hit his head.


7. Why did they all come through at different times?

Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff. Time and space are really fluid.


8. Where did he get the name Anton Romanov?

He got Anton from the servants of the Romanov manor. General Aleksi Romanov gave him his last name as a birthday present when he joined the army as a child.


9. When is his birthday if he wasn't born and how old is he?

Anton was brought back to life on earth-1 on July 12, 2007. His birthday in the Outerverse is the day he was found, which was December 31, 2015.

He is effectively 22 years old.


10. Well then why does he have Xio's eyes if he isn't his anymore?

Nothing is 100%, there are still traces of Xio and Hima in there.


11. Um, if Marelyn can bring people back to life why doesn't he bring back his lady that died?

Because the outerverse doesn't have the same type of spiritual energy for Marelyn to work with. Additionally he had to call in a lot of favors for Liam and only did it because he owed him.


12. Your characters are the worst best and no one everyone likes your stories.
