If you could make a colossus...

What animal would it be? or would it be a human?
Does it walk on two legs or four?
Where are its weak points?
What is the strategy to defeat it?
Have fun... domokun

A great idea Kurridan!

If I could make a colossus it would be a turtle and walk on all fours. Its weak points would be its limbs and head but it would be hard to hit as it can retract it's limbs and head to protect itself. Timing would be the key to defeating this colossus.

Description: If I could make a Colossus it would be a frog. It'd go on all fours oif course, it'd be as big as the Lion and the Bull-or Bison or Ox or whatever you call it- put together, hair/moss on its belly and head.

Attacks: Its attacks would be jumping up really high and then slamming on the ground, jumping straight at you if it was close, and shooting its stoned tounge and you.

Weak points: Its weak points would be on its belly.

Vitals: On its head.

Strategy: When it jumps up high in the air it kind of hovers over you for about five seconds, in that time pump a few arrows in its belly and it will plummet so move out of the way, when it lands it won't jump anymore for a while, instead it'll shoot its tounge out at you, when the tounge is out all the way it stops for a few seconds so in that time run up the tounge and jump onto its head, now all you need to do is keep stabing away until it dies.

(hey...um...would it be okay if I were to give a better description but didn't give away the strategy to defeat it? That way you guys could try to figure it out)

Animal: A dog
Legs: Four
Weak points: Snout, ears, tail, and belly
Strategy: He is inside a big coliseum-looking thing in-between a huge spiral staircase. Run halfway up the stairs. It will start to sniff around you and try to eat you. Jump onto its snout and stab. It will be shocked and fall down. Run completely up the staircase--hurry, before he gets up!-- and jump onto him. Run up to his tail and stab the end of it.
(Watch out, the tail is mostly made of stone, so when he gets up, he will shake you off!!!)
After that he will get up and start flailing around. Choose wisely whether to run or climb -- hurry, otherwise he will roll over and shake you off! -- Also, most of his body and face are stone. That is why you had to do that instead of simply climbing up his face. Anyway, hurry up to his ears and stab either one. He rolls over to try and get you off again. This time, jump off the colossus, back onto the staircase. Jump back on and stab his stomach for the finishing blow.
(When you defeat him, he barely gets up, tries to jump on the wall and land on you, but falls backwards instead. His eyes go black and he is dead. Congrats!)

I'm already using something like this elsewhere, but:
` This colossus is going to be kinda medium sized, and on five legs. Half the height of the second colossus in the game, but with same length. The middle will be reasonably flat and circular, and there would be strait energy blash shooting spikes, one sticking out of of the top, the other out of the bottom, both of them resembleing the tusks of the colossus that's half in the water without eyes . . . and energy shooting tusks.
` Now, the legs would move one at a time, but pretty quickly, dragged across the ground in the direction that the colossus is moving in. It will try to move the leg closest you you and if you do walk near one of the five legs, it will try to drag it into you.
` The battlefield? I don't know where on the map in Shadow of the Colossus it should be, but it will be in a forest, and it shouldn't be closed off by any kind of cliff, but instead by taller trees. There's also a plateau (made of hexagonal pillars!) with a pool of what resembles nuclear waste in the . . . just kidding, that's MystIII, but the naturally hexagonal stone pillars will do. You need to try to lure the colossus onto it. Then you should try to climb up and shoot it in the underside around it's vertical horn/tusk/energy turret thingy, because when the colossus is shot in the underside, it's legs all push out and the spike sticks into the ground, then it pulls up by blasting into the ground with it's spike (hurting you if you're near it). But since you're on the plateau, it can move it's legs since they're off the sides of the plateau. Now you can climb half way down, get onto the leg so you can get on top before it blasts up. Otherwise, the legs would drag into you and hurt you.
` But you need to get onto the head pretty quickly to hold on to it's fur, because when it does blast up with the lower spike, it always knocks you off a bit, completely off if you're on the legs, and it also does a bit of damage if you're on the top from the top energy spike, but there you stay on. Like the eel one, you do need to stab the colossus near the spike to disable keep it from shooting you dead, and then there is another weak spot near the top of each leg (in view of the top spike). It will occasionally stick itself in the ground and jump and throw you off, but there's a charging up sound, and a reasonably good amount of time, so it's easy to get farther into the colossus's furry top where you have some space to fly.

` Though I was ultimately thinking of the mama headcrap from HalfLife, it's kinda like a spider (but with three fewer legs).

I wonder what a Penguin colossus would be like . . . well, I'm obbsessed with them! But really, that would be cool. Penguins (well, emporer Penguins at least) do move around rather slowly over land, but swim very fast. It would be pretty cool to have a colossus that swims, but will try to chase you on land if you try to get out of the water.

I made one a long time ago. I also drew it, it looks awesome!

Description: An underground Porcipine(sp?)

Attacks: Stomping

Weak points: Behind all its legs

Vitals: Head and on the side of its left arm.

Strategy: Its slow but really grouchy. It will try whatever it can to keep you away. Soemtimes it will forget you and just walks back to the back of the cave, its your chance to follow it quietly and shoot your arrows behind its legs ( elbow part). It shall fall down for 10 seconds. Climb on its legs cause there are soem parts where there are thorns so be careful. Then go find the weak spots!

I always got the impression that the colossi were bits of earth and stone and architecture that became animated by Dormin's spirit, so I think it would be really interesting if a city became a colossus, or a windmill or piece of technology.

I also thought it would be cool if there was a colossus that was so big that you could be walking on it's back and think you were in a forest.
