The Dos and Don'ts of Roleplaying the Gods !
I think the title speaks for itself. The next few posts are all about what you should and shouldn't do when creating a god(dess), as well as additional information you may find helpful.

The Basics ! ↷ If you're interested in playing a god or goddess, there's one thing you must understand. The Romans are not the same as their Greek counterparts. Meaning, Hades and Pluto will not act the same. Aphrodite and Venus will not act the same. Dionysus and Bacchus will not act the same. They can act similar, but they're not the same person. Jupiter can be the exact opposite of Zeus, and it's totally okay! In fact, I encourage it! It is stressed that the Roman deities are altogether more disciplined, warlike, and militarilistic than the Greeks though, so try to stay within that range when you're creating a god. K? K.↷ Gods are not included in the number of characters a user is premitted to have, so theoretically, you can have as many as you want - as long as I think you can handle it, that is.↷ The gods may not claim characters. Only the crew and higher may do so. Sorry, but there a lot of things to consider while claiming a member of the legion and usually members are not aware of them.↷ Before I tell you how to apply for a god, I think I should set down some standards to see if you can. As I've stressed before, this is a literate roleplaying guild. Members should be able to crank out 500+ words a post, but members who would like to play gods should be able to post 700+. If you are thinking about a specific god or goddess to play, please refer here to see if the position has been taken yet. And lastly, you should be fairly active within the guild. You don't need to post 24/7, but a few posts a month is all I'm asking for.↷ If you would like to apply for a god or goddess, PM the Captain so that she can test your worth see if you're up for the job. Include some links to posting samples as well. If I see the profile of a god that I did not approve of, it will be deleted immediately and the offending user will be sent a lovely PM from me. If they continue to post as them, they will be removed from the guild and sent another PM.↷ If you have been approved to play a higher power, great! You are required to fill out a profile to the best of your ability. All you really need to know specifically is to title the thread with the name of your god or goddess.↷ Regarding blessing campers with abilities, please note that you should choose who to bless carefully, and should be based on how your immortal would feel towards the character in question. Major gods may bless up to two demigods and one legacy while minor gods may bless up to one demigod and one legacy.↷ Anything new added will be posted in red.

The Dos ! ↷ There is a profile skeleton which can be found here provided by the guild that you may use for your profile. You may use your own profile as long as it has all the necessary information. However, I'd prefer the profiles to be in first person.↷ Details, details, details! I love reading profiles and lots of information would be much appreciated if you are going to play a god or goddess since I know you are capable of it.↷ Regarding models, real people must be used. I don't have a problem with celebrities, models, or site models. Just don't use an anime picture or a scene kid. If you need help finding a model, please look here or PM me.↷ Be creative and have fun with your character! Boring characters are boring. These people are the Roman gods of mythology and it's expected that you do not stray too far from the god's base personality, but don't be afraid to spice things up!↷ Anything new added will be posted in red.

The Don'ts ! ↷ DO NOT GODMOD. DO NOT GODMOD. DO NOT GODMOD. There is always a problem with playing gods because of the potential risk of users godmodding with them, sometimes because of overestimating their powers. Each god has a domain which they represent though - Pluto, the underworld and the dead, Aphrodite, love and beauty, etc. They WILL be particularly powerful in their respective domains, but honestly, they don't have much power beyond them. Just don't do anything ridiculous, like having Bacchus overrun Camp Jupiter with wine falling from the sky. Why would he want to waste good wine anyways? An extreme example, but you get the point.↷ Don't stray too far from the god's base personality when creating their profile. Neptune isn't going to move to the Sahara and live in a cactus, for example. ↷ This is a lit.+ guild. I expect every member to use correct spelling and grammar and not to use l33t speak, but I expect it more so of those of you playing the gods. You passed my background check, so I know that you can do it.↷ Anything new added will be posted in red.
