Guild Rules and Guidelines !
Yeah, I know, rules suck, but what can you do? If we didn't have rules, the world would be a scary place indeed. Follow these rules and we should have no problems.

Out of Character ! ↷ ALWAYS FOLLOW GAIA T.O.S. The GaiaOnline Terms of Service are there for your safety, so I suggest following them. If you're part of the 90% of Gaians who has never actually read the T.o.S. and never plans to (guilty as charged), then at least use common sense. Don't give out your password, address, or anything else that could be potentially harmful information for anyone to know. Keep everything at PG-16 as well. I would hate to see a member of the guild get hurt because of a mistake or anything of the like.
↷ RESPECT EVERYONE. This guild is supposed to be a place where the members can roleplay and have fun. The crew members are the most bad a** people ever relatively friendly guys and gals that I trust explicitly. They're here to help you as much as I am. Please keep all drama, fights, etc. away from the guild. I don't want to have to deal with that s**t here. If you are having a problem with one of the members, PM a member of the Crew and I promise they'll try to sort everything out. If you have a problem with one of the Crew, PM me and I promise I'll try to sort everything out. Also, remember that when you're online, people can interpret what you're saying differently from how you intended it. Be careful of what you say and how you say it, because you may hurt someone's feelings in the process. Lastly, treat everyone the way you wish to be treated. Don't put anyone down and don't attack each other over one thing or another. Treat the crew and members with respect and respect will be shown to you in return.
↷ KEEP OOC IN THE OOC SUBFORUM. Please don't clutter your posts with excessive OOC (out of character). A comment about your partner's post is fine, but if you'd like to say more than a couple sentences about it, PM them. Also, there is a forum available for OOC, so feel free to post random threads, plot threads, and any other kinds of threads that you can think of that don't belong in the roleplaying forums there.
↷ CHECK THREADS REGULARLY. This isn't something that you need to do, but more of something that you should do. There are a bunch of threads around the guild that are updated regularly (Rules, FAQs, Faceclaim, Available Roles, etc.) that are there to help you, so look at them every once in a while so that you're in the loop of things.
↷ RULES CAN BE CHANGED AND ADDED AT ANY TIME. New rules will be in red.

In Character ! ↷ ALWAYS FOLLOW GAIA T.O.S. Following the GaiaOnline T.o.S. applies to in character as well as out of character. If you need to be lectured about it, just refer back to the previous post.
↷ KEEP EVERYTHING AT PG-16. The majority of the characters in this guild will be old enough to want to or to have sex. I encourage romance, but once the clothes start to come off, FOR THE LOVE OF JUPITER TIMESKIP OR GO TO PM. An eight-year-old kid could be reading your post for all you know and aside from robbing them of their innocence, I'll puke if I'm reading straight sex on the page. If you keep your posts at PG-16 though, you should be all right. The same goes for those action scenes where blood will inevitably spew. Keep the details and description to a level that won't make me nauseous reading it.
↷ WE ONLY ACCEPT USERS WHO ARE LITERATE. I'd like to think of this guild as lit.+. At all times, proper spelling and grammar should be used to the best of your ability, posts should be written in third person novel format, and each post should have at least 500 words. I understand that ugly monster every writer knows as writer's block will creep up on you from time to time, so I'll give you the occasional lack. Granted, no one is going to do a word count of your posts, but it's not too difficult to differentiate between a 500 word post and a 100 word post. If your join request has been accepted though, you should have no problems adhering to the guild's literacy standards.
↷ DO NOT GODMOD. EVER. To put a more accurate picture to it, godmodding includes invincibility, dictating another member's response, making the impossible somehow possible, and altering time and space to suit your character and their situation. Even the Roman gods and goddesses aren't powerful enough to do any of that. It's easy to make mistakes though, so it's three strikes and you're out. If you're unsure about something, just PM a member of the Crew and ask.
↷ PLAN OUT BATTLES BEFOREHAND. Referring to the previous rule, I don't want any arguments to break out because of a battle fought between two characters. In this respect, if you want your character to fight another, PM the user and talk about what you want to happen first. You don't have to plan out every single detail because that's no fun either, but just enough to know who will win the battle, how strong the characters are, etc. If any problems arise, PM a Crew member or the Captain.
↷ MARY SUES AND GARY STUS ARE A HUGE NO-NO. If you don't know the exact definition of a Mary Sue, I'll tell you: a character that is so ******** perfect that it's ******** annoying. An example would be the description below taken from here:
Quote: Her name is Celestia Destiny Raven Violet Shimmer Moondancer. She has long raven black hair and beautiful pale skin. Her eyes are a sharp emerald but they change to a glistening red when she is mad. They change blue when she's happy too! She's very curvy and has the best taste in fashion. However she denies all of this and in such a cute, bashful way. She was such a talented witch, that the second she was born, Voldemort hissed in agony. She is sent to Hogwarts at age 6 and secretly trained by Dumbledore until she is old enough to go to Hogwarts. She then gets Draco Malfoy and half of the male population in Hogwarts to go after her. When Voldemort appears and asks her out, she refuses but shakes his out of pity. Then he turns good and we all live happily ever after. The End.
Do you understand why I find Mary Sues annoying yet? A Gary Stu is the male version of a Mary Sue. I'm pretty sure I don't have to rant about Mary Sues since usually more literate roleplayers have more carefully thought out characters. However, if your character does resemble a Mary Sue, either a Crew member or I will PM you and ask that you either edit or delete the character.
↷ IN THIS GUILD, JASON GRACE NEVER EXISTED. The guild doesn't have much of a plot besides the fact that we are going to ignore the fact that Jason, Hazel, and Frank ever existed in the first place. It makes it easier to roleplay in the Camp Jupiter setting before the Heroes of Olympus series has finished because I am impatient as all heck. As the series progresses, there will be additions to the guild and if the guild undergoes any major changes, members will be notified via an announcement. So Jason and the gang shouldn't be mentioned at all and the Greek and Roman camps remain ignorant of each other. The fifth cohort is still the cohort of shame and the golden eagle is still yet to be found.
↷ I DON'T GIVE A ******** ABOUT CURSING. I don't give a s**t about cursing. I have a foul mouth and the majority of my characters do too, so I can understand the need to throw a few of those kinds of words in your posts. Just keep it in character and make sure asterisks aren't appearing in my filter every other word.
↷ KILLING CHARACTERS IN IC IS BIG SHIZ. If you'd like to kill a character, you will need the approval of said character's user and also that of the Captain. First, PM the user and ask for their approval first. Then, I would like a PM from the users of the characters involved that includes the specifics (why the character is being killed, how, by who, etc.). This is just to avoid any unfairness and confusion from occurring. If I approve, then you may continue on with what you had planned.
↷ EVERYONE LIKES PRETTY POSTS. It is preferred that you have a post format for your characters when posting IC. It is not mandatory, but like I said, everyone likes pretty posts. It doesn't have to be much - just a decorated picture and some text is all I'm asking for. Many of the things you might need to create a post format can be found here. If you don't want to make a post format yourself, then you can also visit that same thread for links to shops that you can visit to buy post formats.
↷ MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY UP TO FIVE CHARACTERS. Every member is automatically allowed to play up to five characters each, excluding gods and goddesses. You can play as many gods and goddesses that I think you are capable of handling. I know limitations suck but the guild can't be expected to run efficiently if three users are playing twenty characters each. However, I may make special exceptions to create an extra character if you can provide me with a good enough reason. The Crew are allowed to make as many characters as they like so long as they get permission for each character over the limit.
↷ BE ACTIVE. I don't have a specific posting requirement for members to abide by, but a few posts every month is good enough for me. If you think you'll have trouble being active within the guild, just post here. Real life issues should always be a priority and it is understandable when life forces you to run off to Narnia has you busy. Just make sure to alert the guild and your roleplaying partner if you'll be gone so no one is wondering if you've dropped off the face of the earth. There will be activity checks and guild purges, so please try your best to stay active in the guild.
