Not all plays are all inclusive and only need a small group of people (mostly dramas and small scale musicals) this is something I learned recently. But it isn't all about acting and being in the spotlight. Yes, my friends who wait in the back drop....there is hope. Instead of moping and being upset, try your hand at set design. Or lighting and sound. If you already have these skills or even if you are a quick study, you can be utilized in some way ^_^ this is actually what I am doing. I'm doing set design and lights for my community college's fall drama. I tried out and didn't make it....ah, well

Better luck next time, am I right?
I love acting, but I'm also a huge fan of building, lights, and backdrops. At our school we have work calls, which is always fun, and also a great way to show you're really dedicated to the program. Unfortunately, you're not allowed to be both stage crew and part of the cast, but the work calls often make up for it. I'm a part of the Chorus, which, I think, is nearly as fun as having a main part, though disappointing.... : ) But hay, there is always other plays, not to mention hope! : D
