Zanpakuto World: Shades of black, white and grey are all that is seen at first glance around the habitat of the red snake: a black sky with one ray of light shining down on a spot far away, the wild plantlife grey, wilted and lifeless, and the ground covered with a fresh blanket of snow. The temperature of the world is near freezing, reflecting the ice covered heart of its mistress. It's a monochromatic no man's land. But, if one braves the cold terrain and walks even further into the world, color is actually found in a plethora of hues.
The trees blossoming with a selection of fruits and flowers. The grass as green as can be, and from it sprouted plants, and shrubbery. The temperature cool, like a nice day in spring. A day where people would enjoy picnics in the sun. It is the exact opposite of the desolate entrance. In the middle of the life filled oasis from the cold, a grand pagoda of gold stands erect from the green ground. The metal shining under the light, and inside the pagoda a large, red seat is found; a man clad in black sits and smiles a sardonic smile.
Zanpakuto Sealed Appearance: The sword is a silver rapier, unlike the common japanese styled zanpakuto. It's hilt is tainted black with a decal of snakes that adorn the handle of the sword. The rapier finds itself nestled along the woman's left hip, tied with a dark red ribbon across her waist.
Shikai:

Release Command: "Then the angel shall fall, Aka no hebi."
Shikai Release Appearance: Once the command to release the sword's shikai, it's shape immediately morphs into a long, cascading whip of silver and red, with miniscule thorns that contain a special poison concocted by Amaterasu. It resembles the body of a snake, obviously.
Shikai Ability: Her shikai can confuse her victims as well as incapacitate them slowly. Like the Greek Abomination, Medusa, it can easily immobilize it's prey. It's hard to explain how, but the whip contains several poisons which can make it's victim helpless. After three hits, a person weaker than Amaterasu, will find they are unable to move. The stronger the opponent , the more attacks needed to paralyze them. With the paralyzation of her enemy, she easily speeds up her movement, using flash step and taking the confusion on hand and using it to her advantage. With the abilities of Hydra, another Greek monster, the whip, if cut off, will regenerate with more two more whips than the previous, and then the whips give birth to more. The hilt of the blade has to be destroyed to be defeated, but it's hard to do if one is bewildered due to confusion, and gradual petrification.
Attacks:
1. Koiringu Gin [Coiling Silver]: Just like its name says, it's coling silver. The move slowly constricts the victim, inserting the paralyzing potion into the body system. How? It protrudes once attached to the outer skin and into the dermis which contain the blood vessels needed to transport the poison through out the body. Although, this move takes quite a while to accomplish. If one carefully studies the snake while feeding, it has to be precise and slow... It's a tedious process. Wait and then strike is the key.

2. Rei shiba no kyūshū [Reishi Absorption]: It absorbs reishi to help quicken the process of Koiringu Gin. But, it's still takes a toll on precious time if in a battle.
3. Chikaku [Perception]: It gives Amaterasu a snake's eye view of situations. For example, in a room covered in darkness, she can find her prey. By putting enhanced venom into her system, she can become like her Zanpakuto spirit, and gain the abilities of snakes, which she adores very much; however, she also needs an anti-venom because the current concoction is quite unstable, and also harms her.
Bankai:
Bankai Name: Aka Hebi Hana [Red Snake Bloom]
Bankai Release Command:"Adam and Eve ate the apple, Aka Hebi Hana."
Bankai Appearance:Run and Hide.
Bankai Traits:The basilisk, although deadly ,is a semi-blind creature, it relies more on its hearing than its sight. Also, it's a large beast therefore, it moves slowly, and recklessly when moving. Due to it's large size and power, Amaterasu sometimes has trouble trying to manipulate the creature to do her bidding.
Bankai Ability: Amaterasu's sword dissipates and turns into a large snake, also known as the Basilisk from old folk tales that left men back in the middle ages hapless, and sought for ways to rid of the beast. But, the woman's beast is much scarier than it's ancestor, due to many experiments which made the beast a toxic creature. It excretes a cloud of noxious gas from its mouth, inhabited by sharp teeth. The gas is a deadly poison,(rather than the paralyzing serum from her shikai), which invokes nausea, vomiting, brief fits of blindness. In short it affects the five senses and numbs them until the person doesn't feel, see, hear, smell, or taste their death. But not only does it hinder the senses useless, its eyes can cause immediate petrification when looked upon. A way to survive its deadly gaze would be to look upon it from another object. Only Amaterasu holds the anti-venom, although, the victim might not survive to intake the antidote in time.

1. Kirāsutoraiki [Killer Strike]: The basilisk spits out it's acidic, as well as poisonous saliva to hinder the foe's movements. If not to fully stop the opponent, than to slow them down.

Amaterasu has a small bracelet with many circular lockets that contain small vials of anti-venom, just in case. She also has a silver necklace with a cross hanging at the end, doused in basilisk pheromone to help control her pet snake.

Personality:
The first thing that comes to mind when speaking of Amaterasu is kitschy. Cold, calculating, ruthless... among many other unpleasant synonyms used to describe her, she has heard it all. However, the synonymous words really don't matter to her, she's too confident to deflate her massively sized ego to believe them. She's a woman with a silver tongue; hurting people mentally rather than physically, since mental anguish weighs heavier than the physical pain, which can heal.
Like other women, Amaterasu finds herself completely immersed in her own vision of beauty, and to her she is the epitome of perfection, not many could compare to her fair looks. The lady uses her looks to her advantage to get what she wants, just like any other gorgeous b***h in the world. From men to money, she has the means to have it all.
With both brain and brawn, the woman doesn't need to pick. Her brain is nothing average, Amaterasu is a woman who is constantly thinking and studying. There isn't a moment in her life where she doesn't shut up in her head, after all you can only trust yourself. This is her normal side outside of her darkened office.

Amaterasu suffers from a case of masochism, deep down inside her. No, she doesn't self harm, neither does she like it when others inflict pain upon her, but she does. In any case, she is a sadist on the outside, and that's the Amaterasu that people see. A selfish b***h.
Biography Before Death: Even before Amaterasu died and was reborn, she was considered a strange woman. Beautiful, yet loony, since you can't get both brain and brawn without an extra. The woman grew up alone, raised in a single parent within a serf household of the 14th Century in Renaissance Britain. Her father was a drunkard,therefore money intake was as scant as the booze in his liquor cabinet. Her mother left them when she was young, not even a baby yet. Her life wasn't as shitty as it sounded though, or maybe it is. From an early age, Amaterasu, then known as Evangeline, endowed with a thirst for knowledge and curiosity sought an education to relieve some of the tension she felt. But, due to her illiteracy, she learned next to nothing by trying to read books, so to quench her greed for education, the woman decided on experimentation as key to her success, because what kind of logical person wouldn't choose the path?
She first started small, the simple concept of adaptation by looking at deer that stray on to her property. While watching for the animals, she would note their different appearance during different seasons, and then examine them. Then the experiments quickly turned into mixing chemicals from different plants, and making them into medicines to cure, or palliate symptoms of sickness, such as the common cold and what not. Her reputation as a "healer" spread across her village, and soon she earned a modest income from her mixtures, which were taken by her father to pay for his drinking. It was an endless cycle.
The young woman not only gained fans, she also accumulated enemies. Local apothecaries and the like became aware of the woman's talent. She was scouted, not for her abilities, but for her beauty. Along with her medicine, it seemed rumors of her physical appearance also made its way across villages, although, she didn't know it at the time. Evangeline accepted a job at a nearby monastery, a few days travel by horseback, accompanied by a man with less than good intentions for his traveling companion. The night of their journey, he took advantage of her vulnerability in the wild, and thought it was a chance to get some pretty lady. He thought wrong, she wasn't as defenseless, as she inserted her first generation paralyzation potion into his arm with a makeshift syringe made out of crudely fashioned pipes.

Of course, with his gradual petrification, he thought it was witchcraft, paralysis and all. The woman was a witch, which was why she was so adept at making potions, or why she attracted so many men and why she lived in recluse. To the townspeople, it was evidence and it made sense. So they hung her. The end.
Biography After Death:
The woman woke up in her room, with no memories of what happened earlier that day. Wasn't she supposed to be hung? Standing up quickly and walking to her mirror, she noticed the long chain that hung from her chest, but with no explanation about the awkward looking chain, she knew this wasn't real life anymore, and she was either dreaming or dead. Being a logical woman, she chose the latter, her doubts were correct when she found she could easily pass through random objects.
A few decades later, she found herself spending time trying to learn how to read, by wandering the continent and lurking on study sessions with tutors and students. During, her aimless journey, she found herself in a quiant, yet wayward town of a foreign nation. How she got there, she forgot, but it was a place of danger. Monsters ran after her, and the chain on her chest slowly disappeared. One day, she was approached by a man in an all black garb, with a sword on his left hip. He told her of another world, far beyond the world of the living, as he phrased. He also brought up to her attention of the consequences of staying in the human world far beyond the alotted time, which were the chains, and that she would become one of the grotesque creatures who she constantly ran away from. Evangeline was intrigued, and agreed to the journey.
Enter Seireitei
Amaterasu was the name given to her which meant shining over the heavens, and that was the name she went by. The soul academy was her attempt to extend her knowledge further; learning the japanese language, she spoke it crudely due to her english origins, and to experiment some more and maybe on some subjects this time. While she sharpened her science skills, which, were far beyond average, she shirked her fighting skills, which was another crucial element to her education. But, physical action wasn't her forte. Once it was time to get accepted into squads, she was most compatible with Squad Twelve. At the time, Mayuri was still the Captain, and she was the replacement third seat, determined by her abilities and such, as the previous shinigami died in an unfortunate accident involving explosions. Being so close to the crazy captain, they could be mistaken as akin to each other, she learned how to make her potions more potent ,longer lasting and stronger than before.

Amaterasu challenged Mayuri for the Captain Seat, and he accepted the challenge. The battle lasted almost forever, until the girl finally gained the upper hand by finding a vulnerable spot on Mayuri's bankai, which rendered the baby catterpillar hybrid helpless.
