okay so looking through the forum I don't see any Metallica thread...
Come on, how can you talk about metal music and not mention Metallica?
so list your favorite album, and song and why?
i prefer the S&M album where theyare preforming with a love orcrastra(sp?)
my favorite song is a tie between Enter Sandman, Welcome home, and Master of Puppets i love, love, love those songs because they are just done beautifully with alot of hard work

If you put all of Metallica's decent songs together, they wouldn't fill a single album. They're incredibly generic and highly overrated.
That being said, I suppose my favorite Metallica song is Welcome Home.

Hmm Metallica's good songs actually fill up 4 albums.... Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All... My favorite song would have to be Harvester of Sorrows off of ...And Justice,
Sorry but old Metallica is on par "ish" with Slayer... I would've loved for the Big 4 tour to come to Minnesota, Come on Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica, and Slayer... You can't tell me that wouldn't be an amazing show!
I'm sorry but Metallica generic? I don't see it... They helped invent and form thrash in the early days. But I can agree that EVERYTHING they put out after 1990 was complete garbage......
Also Lars is a b***h and a hack drummer...

I actually think most thrash as a whole sounds rather bland. I like a few thrash bands, but not many. I've listened to Metallica's stuff, and those are fair albums, but each of those albums only has a few quality songs. Even Ride The Lightning was disappointing after I got past the opening.

I'm a big Metallica fan.
I can enjoy all of their albums, St. Anger the least. I'm not a huge hater of it but it's just a bad album.
I don't really have a favorite song, but lately it's been For Whom The Bell Tolls and Seek and Destroy because they're fun to sing in the car lol

Everything after Master of Puppets sucks a**. talk2hand
My favorite song would either have to be Battery or Trapped Under Ice. Ride the Lightning wins by a small margin over Master of Puppets.
