Hey y'all!
As you probably heard, I've been appointed to become the head of the Advertising Committee. I've been called in the past Whim, Moo, or Glass, but feel free to use any form, or make up your own!
A little about myself, I am a pretty long time Gaian. I started with the 8th Annual Ball as one of the hosts to The Room of the Sea, with my buddy Lectern. Moving on to the 9th Annual Ball, I found I was unable to attend due to some conflicting time schedules in real life, but I still helped out. I raised a ton of gold and contributed to the Room of Sloth and Zeal, helping them write their plot and get the room set up in general, acting as a mentor.
The year of the 10th Annual Ball was a hard year for me. A lot of time at sea, a lot of time away from home. I almost missed the ball completely, however, I still contributed a great deal towards their coffers, and ended up eventually attending anyways. It was a lot of fun, and made me realize how much I have missed. But, now I am back!
Other things I do around Gaia vary. I am a Senior Patrol Officer for the BTPD, a mentor in the NSTG, and a journalist for the GOM. I also participate in many roleplay guilds and roleplays around the forums, as it is what I do to kill time around here.
Anyways, now that we got that out of the way, welcome to the Advertising Committee! As head of the committee, I hope to get to know each and every one of my staffers under me on a personal level. Please keep in mind that we will be working extremely close with the other committees. That being said, if you ever have an issue with me or anybody else, please first approach them with the issue, or if you are uncomfortable, approach their senior. I promise to work my hardest to resolve any issues.
My expectations? Well, hopefully this shouldn't be hard. First of all, I would like everybody in my staff at least, if not more active, than myself. That shouldn't be too hard, considering I have to disappear off the face of the Earth for at most two months at a time. I also expect to ask for help whenever you need it, to work out problems instead of arguing, to produce quality, good work, and to make this the most successful ball ever, of course.
What can you do to help? Well, for starters, you can apply! We are going to need a lot of help, and we are going to need a lot of people to take the initiative. However, there are a few special things I want to do.
I would like a few users to lurk around the forums every so often. There are groups of dedicated roleplayers out there, and as this is a community site, I think it would be neat if we got as close to that community as possible, and so we can contact these roleplayers come ball time. Just find these groups, file them away, and have a list of special invites ready for them. Also, if there are any particularly interested, we can steer them towards the roleplaying committee.
I would also like searchers to look for talented artists, to help crutch up the art committee.
And finally, I would like to have a constantly running thread in the forums, a roleplay thread if you will. If you were involved in the Host Club last year, you will know what I am talking about. Basically a room for us all to roleplay in, users can come and go as they please, but it's main purpose is to keep everybody shiny on their roleplaying skills and to advertise the ball.

Average time online: Almost everyday, but there is the occasional day that I get much to busy.
Skills: Drawing, banner making, commitment, role playing, and positive attitude. : D
One Idea is talking to the guild captains of a few role playing guilds so that they can tell their members about our wonderful role playing event. : D

Average time online: I'm trying to cut back to only and hour a night so I can accomplish things in the real world.
Skills: Coordinating, poking, pleading, begging, getting my way, writing, editing, account management, coding

Past Ball experience: I've participated as a guest in numerous balls in the past. I've taken a fancy to the role play experience, however, the last two years, I've been unable to really get into the whole RP as I kinda nearly missed the whole ball. :'c I've never been involved in the ball more than a guest.
Average time online: Considering I have no life I'm usually not that busy, I check gaia a few times a day. It is rare for me not to check gaia because I have no life.
Skills: I've been role playing for four to five years now so I'm sure that'll come in handy. I also love to talk people ears off and adore making friends with the people who ears haven't fallen off. On my other account, I'm the captain of two guilds and a vice so I'm sure I can snag some people. I can also hit up the art&graphics shops I love to go to and ask them to affiliate with the ball.
One Idea I think I've mentioned the anon letters. (: It just sucks everyone's attention up. I love going to the lottery forum so maybe we could have one of those? A lottery would probably help more with fundraising rather than advertising. Or.. or.. or.. hold more than one public rp? Maybe two or three, but in different sub forums just so we can reach out to rpers with different genre preferences.

Past Ball experience: Little more than 1 hour at the 10th ball
Average time online: 30 min a day minimum and 4+ hours average a day (probably much more but i cant promise more than that)
Skills: I'm chatty and I try my best, I like to run cooking and baking recipe exchange threads and poem threads.
One Idea I have no real idea but as it advertisement we should make sure to have our banners and links in art shops/contest and ask people who post much in different guilds and forums to support us by having our banners and links in their signatures.
