As a half-elf Himawari's time spent sleeping was short, but since her departure from the X-Fleet a reoccurring nightmare began to trouble her. Even in her waking hours the thought buried itself in her mind, eating away at her.
When she joined the Adventure Fleet and was sent to the Eastern Empire along with everyone else she hoped a change of scenery would help, but it did not. Even Whisper, who Kraze had introduced her to and was always so cheerful, did little to change her mood. The empress' presence, however did give her an idea.
Despite her familiarity with Whisper, Hima requested a formal audience with both her and Trance...
Himawari's stomach churned as the doors opened to the throne room. Despite being friends with Whisper, she had always managed to narrowly avoid Trance. She was worried that he would dislike her from the way the newspapers portrayed her as the X-Fleet's whore, though she had only been with Riketz in this world.
Forcing herself to move forward she approached the thrones and knelt on both knees before them. She bowed, hands folded in eastern fashion, and kept her gaze down.
"Your Imperial Majesties, I come before you today to make a humble request."

Trance sat in a fairly large throne, next to the smaller one, belonging to Whisper. He waved his hand, "There is no need for formalities. I am not one for bowing and such." He stood up, his incredible stature now making the throne look small in comparison. He walked over to a beautifully decorated table, taking a few glasses and filling them with wine. "I may be king, but I am no better than anyone else. Please, speak to me as you would speak to a friend." He walked back towards the throne, holding all three glasses in one hand, he offered one each to Whisper and Himawari.

Whisper smiled, taking the glass from Trance with a nod. "You are a dear friend of ours, Hima, feel free to speak, dear."

"Thank you," Hima said to both of them as she rose and took the glass. "As you may know, my adopted daughter, Sindira, is the sole survivor of the bombing of Wanlako during the Parted Waves War. The bombs left her blinded, but gave her the gift of future sight."
She paused and took a sip of the wine as she thought before continuing. "Her visions are not always accurate as the future is fluid and changing, but there is a vision that she had that has troubled me deeply for months.
Trance, your majesty, you are aware of what the papers have said about me being your brother's consort during my time with the X-Fleet?"

Taking his seat, he took a large drink, "I am aware, yes." He hid his mild annoyance. He often did not like hearing the combination of future visions, and mention of his brother.

Hima looked at the floor, "They're not quite true. We had feelings for each other and he is a friend, but we never... We didn't do that.
"Look, can I be frank with you, Trance?" Her heart was pounding as she asked. As nervous as she was she didn't wait for an answer. "You and I have both seen the goodness in Vexx that curse brings out. And no one knows the evil it brings out better than you or Whisper.
While phoenix magic is strong, no curse is unbreakable. I want to free Vexx. I want the good and the evil to merge. I want him to be able to make his own choice."

Whisper was silent this whole time, listening to the conversation currently occurring.
"It... may be a bad idea.." she spoke, a bit quietly to hide the shaking in her voice, "but... it may be for the better.."
Personally, she was terrified of him, and she knew that they both knew it. Time to time, she still had nightmares about her past events with him, no matter how hard she tried to be rid of them.
"If the curse could be lifted.." she swallowed hard, taking a slow breath, "hopefully it would mean we would not have to worry about him turning evil and wreaking havoc on the world."

Trance calmly stood up, and sat down his glass. He walked over to a window and stared outside for a few minutes before saying anything. Finally after a silence, he spoke firmly, "I care not for what the two of you did, or did not. It's not of my concern. Breaking the curse on the other hand... is. There are pro's and con's to this idea. I personally find the con's very heavy though." Another long pause happened before he spoke, "Back before the curse, my brother was a monster. He may have had a good side, but he preferred to never show it. I think it might even be possible that the curse gave him the good side... I personally cannot say much about his darker side though... There are no records of it...but I was more ruthless than he has ever been. Granted, that was in the past, but the blood will forever be stained on my hands." He then sighed, and turned around, pulling out his sword to look at it, "I went on a quest to have this sword forged specifically for my brother. If he is slain with it, it heavily slows down his reincarnation speed. I always planned on if he were to ever die while good, I would get the last blow with this sword, so we could have time to prepare for his arrival." Putting the sword away, he looked directly at Hima, "Also removing this curse would get rid of the ability for him to come back at all. If he did decide to ravage the planet, would you be the one to kill him permanently!? Because, I will not kill my brother, if it means that he will have no way to come back!" His eyes showed his rage, but he began to let his soothing energy run through himself. He had to keep himself calm.

"Wait, you don't want to kill him for good?" Hima asked. She was more than a little confused.

Whisper flinched a little at Trances show of anger, falling silent, placing her glass on the table and sitting down once more, hands folded demurely in her lap. Her ears drooped slightly, still listening to the conversing of her friend and her Emperor.

He allowed himself to be calmed by his energy, "I...I apologize for that outburst..." Walking back to the throne, he slumped into it, "I know it sounds odd, but he is my brother. I just can't kill him. Trust me, if I could, it would have already been done. Also, you will need him one day... to defeat me." His look of anger, quickly turned to one of anguish. He knew what he might become again one day, and Vexx would be the planet's only hope of survival.

Hima held back the tears welling in her eyes. "Trance, I couldn't kill him either if I wanted to. I just want him to have a choice. I..."
The tears spilled down her face, "In all honesty, good or evil, I can not bare the thought of a world without him. He's my best friend and while we can't, by his own admission, be together I love your brother.
I had heard of your sword, but its properties were misconveyed to me. I worried that you were out to kill him for good because of the evil inside him. "
