Sometimes, the brightest of smiles hides the darkest secrets.
This is what my character has come to find. He hides the fact that his home life isn't the best around. It's not that hard of a task because he doesn't talk to many kids. He helps people with their problems and then goes back to being on his own. People are willing to be his friend, but they can't get a good conversation going with him. You're character decides to talk to him one day, wondering why he doesn't talk. Of course, he's quiet to you as well. You, however, don't leave like everyone. You're determined to be his friend. Soon, a special bond of friendship will form between the two of you, but it's hard to say if my character will really ever open up to you in that way, or if it will grow past friendship. ((You can put what you think is necessary in your profile~))

Kale Varence Age: Sixteen
Eye Color: Bright Blue
Complexion: Kinda pale
Hair Color: Blonde
Height and Weight: 5' 6"; 125.6 lbs.
Sexual Orientation: Secretly Gay
Fears: Spiders, his father, grown men in general, loud noises, snakes, big open spaces
Likes: Music, art, guitar, kind people, writing, skateboarding. running, and if he's in a lot of pain--marijuana (it leads to be a small addiction later)
Dislikes: When he gets bruises on his face, those nights when his dad wants to get all touchy, rejection, being afraid, nightmares, being held down in any way, feeling vulnerable
Biography: Kale's parents weren't ever really up for having him. Money wasn't an issue. It was just the fact that they didn't really like kids. Still, they didn't approve of abortion and didn't live anywhere near an adoption agency. They had Kale, and cared for him up until he was about five. Then his mom taught him how to do stuff like use the microwave (really simple stuff that sufficed as getting through the day). She was stressed from having to get two jobs, and instead of caring for her son, she resorted to drugs and alcohol. His father never did drugs. He much preferred to discipline his son if ever did wrong. And believe me, they found a way to make everything he did bad. Around the time Kale was eight, Kale had started to want things when it wasn't his birthday or Christmas. Favors like this, his father said, needed to have a price, and that's when the sexual abuse added to the physical. As Kale grew into a teenager, his father didn't need favors as an excuse anymore, and he just used Kale when he wanted. This abuse affected Kale in a way that left him finding more interest in boys than girls but left him terrified of older men and being restrained. He was degraded to a point where he preferred jackets and jeans to anything else and he didn't make a lot of friends. And that's the way it is at his current age.
Talents: He plays guitar, violin and piano(at school in the band room) and draws and writes little stories here and there. He's also a very studious kid (his grades are always pretty good... though he has gotten a C here and there)

Meet Chris Rodgers: Eyes: An unusual and startling blue. Hair: Midnight naturally He loves his tattoos, what can he say? Chris started out as a freak, an outcast in school, but as he managed to start dating cheerleaders after his mother died, he grew in popularity. His father works for the bank and makes major bank as well. His sister is a cheerleader and always kept him up in the social loop. Though at times he never really wanted to be there. He tried basketball for awhile but that didn't work, despite him being 6'1. Not too much coordination. He has a tendency to socially drink, and he enjoys it. He throws occasional parties every now and then. That's when he decides to experiment and drag some guys to his room, blaming it on drink the next day and saying that all he did was kiss 'em. But that wasn't true. He wondered if he was secretly gay. He sings in his spare time, nothing too serious, just some fun stuff here and there. He mostly goes after brokencyde and black veil brides, stuff like that and he can pull it off okay. But he was a good voice and can pull it off rather well. His mother died when he was six in a car accident and after that his father gave up and he grew out of control, doing what he wanted and when he wanted to. Will it work?

Kale Varence ((I like it~)) The loud buzzing of Kale's alarm sounded, shattering the silence of the Monday morning. Kale woke up slowly with a loud yawn and stretched to pop his back. He stood and went into his bathroom, which he was lucky to have attached to his room. He didn't like waking up his parents early. He showered quickly and styled his hair lazily. It looked messy, but that was okay. No one thought it looked bad. After that he brushed his teeth and slipped on a pair of black jeans, blue converse, and a Perry the Platypus T-shirt. Just to make himself feel comfy, he put on his gray and white jacket. He didn't actually have bruises on his arms anymore. Those had faded over the weekend. He just liked his jacket. Feeling ready for the day, he grabbed and went out the door.
The school was getting full of students by the time Kale completed his fifteen minute walk there. He didn't mind. He liked overhearing their gossip. It entertained him. He walked casually into the cafeteria with a relaxed expression like always. He then slouched in his chair and pulled out his sketch pad to doodle a little. But alas, it wasn't long before he grew bored with that and stood to go to the band room. No, he wasn't in band. He didn't have time for that. He just liked to play songs here and there. He sat on the cold wood that made up the piano bench and started to play a song that always relaxed him. He didn't get to come in here often with classes and such, but he would at lunch and the morning. Sometimes, if he didn't have anything to do at home, he'd stay after school as well.

Chris let out a noise of protest as his sister walked in the room, waking him up for school. She scowled and walked over, hitting him in the head with a pillow. He let out a playful growl and reached for her, leaning over the side of the bed to grab her but instead fell out. He let out an annoyed noise but stood up, stretching none-the-less. Afterwards he went down the hall of their gracious two-story house and went to the second floor shower. He showered quickly and dressed in his usual nice fitting jeans and a white wife beater with a black, blue and grey plaid shirt thrown over top, unbuttoned of course. He styled his hair messily quickly before putting in his piercings. Afterwards he went downstairs to catch a quick breakfast made by his sis and was out the door and into his sports car.
He was at school in a matter of minutes, grinning as people stared while he revved his engine. His friends walked over, joining him as he walked into the building. They chatted lightly for a minute or two, until one of the girls named Star, at least he thought that was her name, started tugging on his sleeve. He smirked and let her lead them away from the group, slipping down the halls towards the music room. He chuckled lightly, guessing her intentions but going along anyways. They got close enough and heard piano music floating out of the room and she took on a rather pouty look.
He smiled at her, "I'm sure they have a band storage room or something. We could say that we were looking for Travis's flute." She giggled but nodded, taking his hand and pulling him into the room. He glanced over and went to flash the teacher a bright smile and list their excuse, but noticed that it wasn't her. In fact, she wasn't even in the room. It was some kid that he had seen around here once or twice before. He looked away a moment after and followed Star into the room, the music the only thing following them.
