The mermaid break the rules by traveling to the surface of the ocean where she meets the prince of the sky and falls in love. But the prince is already engaged to another. The sea witch tricks the mermaid into giving up her fins for legs to see the prince, and traps her on land. A war between land and sea and sky breaks loose and wild, stopped only as the prince finds his beloved mermaid on land; their love shining bright enough to end the fighting and bring peace. The witch tries to enchant the prince and lure him away from the mermaid human, and she fights to have him remember her and the sea. The witch's spell is broken and she is cast off by her own pokemon henchmen. The lovers then get married and ride away on Latios and Latias into the new dawn.
