Hi, I've recently bought a mere cookbook and while I was browsing, I found a recipe containing meat?! I'm pretty confused about this as the book does actually say it's for vegetarians.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but mincemeat is finely chopped meat? I checked in the dictionary, the only thing I can think of, by the source of dictionary.com, one definition of mincemeat is that it's a mixture of berries and herbs etc., so could it mean that it's the mixture definition with everything but the meat?

The book didn't have any explanation on this and I'm pretty sure in the U.K. mincemeat is widely known as finely chopped meat (eugh).

Oh, the book is called Student Veggie Grub by Alastair Williams.
I just had to share that with you guys, I'm kinda hoping for some feedback or opinions? Well, I hope you people are having a nice day.

Mincemeat isn't meat.

I'm not sure of the exact ingredients, but I know it's a mixture of chopped nuts, spices, berries, dried fruit, and sugar. It's perfectly fine for veggies to have! 3nodding

I actually had some a few years ago at a christmas event at a local historical museum, and it was pretty good!

It's a combo of fruits and nuts. You're good.

Yeh, I had a pie at christmas made with mincemeat. It's really good and you can mix a whole bunch of different types of fruits and nuts and make it really interesting.
Yummo
