First of all, let me say one thing before you read this post. I am still young, and still trying to figure out my path in life. However, I want to have things planned and be prepared for the long and possibly dangerous road ahead.
I have this crazy idea, that when I'm old enough and finish college that I want to become an officer in the Marine Corps. I know it will be a tough road, but I believe that becoming what I want to be will be more than worth it. I'm already in the Young Marines so that I may get a feel for the way things in the military are run and I have to say I'm already fitting in well. And yes... I know the Marine Corps is nothing like the Young Marines in terms of.. I don't exactly know the word, but I know that they are extremely different, even though the Marines are like older brothers and sisters to us.
Now for the other half; I have an uncanny gift for drawing. I am extremely good for someone my age. [Or rather, that's what I've been told.] I absolutely love being an artist. I enjoy expressing myself and exercising my creativity. I love to create. It's possible that I will be very busy in the future,
Which comes to my problem, and my question. Will I be able to fit in my artwork with the busy schedule of a Marine? Or must I choose one path over another?
And yeah.. the title is a bit different from the actual topic, but I honestly had no idea what to put. Its difficult to explain in a few words.

I am sure you will have time for both. blaugh One of my ex's wanted to join the Marines, he even had a ROTC program in his school that he was in for it, yeah it was demanding, and it expected a lot, but in the end... He did end up dropping out of it because of me... sweatdrop Long story.
But, honestly, you have to do what you think would make you happier. If you truly think you can fit drawing and everything into that schedule, then go for both.
sweatdrop Im probably not much help...

He too, is an artist. though it's much more of a hobby than a job. Well, it's entirely a hobby but it helps get him through~ I'm the same though not in the military, just starting college as a physics major. I hope this gives you a little guidence... I know it isn't much >.<

Actually, it did help a bit. ;-; Such few words yet they were helpful. Thanks. (: I'll most likely end up having my artwork being a hobby as well, since it's extremely difficult to get money as an artist unless you have good clients.
And I have to say - I thank your step-brother for his service. <3
Anyways, for the first person who replied, thanks also for the advice. (:

From the title, I thought it would be about 2 boyfriends. blaugh
I see you have your advice already, but I will add for extra support:
Classes can only help so much - the way to get better at drawing is by drawing, and doing it as a hobby (as mentioned before) is much cheaper than going to an art school.
Drawing will help get you through the Marines.
Artists and military people are both valued, but, if you're a Marine and decide to be an artist at 40, you can. If you're an artist and decide to be a Marine at 40... gonk

Actually, I do have a problem involving males but it's a unique situation that I don't feel like mentioning. XD
Anywho, you do have a point. Thanks for the advice. =3
