The Blackthorn Manor has seen many masters and mistresses, but it has never seen a young master such as Rahl. Frail and weak, Rahl has never left the manor's boundaries due to the worry of the family. However, Rahl is the pride and joy of the manor and is adored by almost everyone, excluding the occassional family member or visitor. When Rahl was ten, five years before, the manor gained a new head butler named ____ who was assigned to be Rahl's caretaker and tutor. Throughout the five years, Rahl and ____ have become rather close, though the young master has been oblivious to his butler's small signs. Will love blossom between master and servant, or will the servant be seen as nothing but a friend for the rest of his time in the manor?

╚XXXXXXX❤XXXXXXX╝ Rahl woke up earlier than everyone else. It wasn't a frequent thing, but it happened from time to time. Sitting up, snuggling one of his stuffed animals, he looked at the time. It was almost six in the morning, which meant that the servants would be waking up to begin their daily chores in half an hour. "...I have enough time to sneak a few cookies from the kitchen. Heheh!" Standing up, setting the stuffed bear down, Rahl made his way to the kitchen quickly but quietly. Opening the kitchen door just a bit, he saw no one was in it and went to the counter, taking the lid off of the cookie jar to reveal leftovers from last night's cookies. "Yay!" Taking a couple of cookies, he put the jar back and hurried out of the kitchen and back to his room, giggling once he got there as he sat back on his bed and began eating the cookies.

James soon woke up, he yawned and looked into the small mirror in his room. His hair was all over the place, though it was usually nicely styled for work. He got out of bed and began to get dressed. Once he was done he headed into the small bathroom that was given to him and began to freshen up. He made his bed and headed out of his room to the kitchen, he would need to prepare Rahl's breakfast. Which he usually did himself, he never trusted the others to do the things. He was scared that they would try to harm him in some way or another. So he figured it would be easier for him to do it himself.

╚XXXXXXX❤XXXXXXX╝ After a while, Rahl looked at the time to see it was about time for the servants to wake up. Looking up at the ceiling, he tried to remember his schedule for the day. First there was breakfast, as always. After that, he had about an hour to waste away before his first lesson of the day, which was piano. After that....He had forgotten. Standing up, he patted the crumbs off his pajamas before leaving his room and going back down to the kitchen where James would be. Rahl was supposed to be asleep at this time, but he was already awake, so he'd see if James would let him help make his breakfast. The man usually didn't, but Rahl liked to ask anyway. It gave him an excuse to let him see James. "James~!" Rahl zipped over to him, smiling up at the man. "Do you need any help?"

James looked over at the younger male, a tad shocked to see him up so early in the morning, "Good morning." He shook his head, "No need for help.. I am almost done..." he said pulling out a chair. He lifted Rahl up and placed him on the seat, "But you can watch if you like..." he said and walked over to the cutting board. He went back to chopping up strawberries. "I hope you are hungry this morning... you are in for a good treat," he said with a smile. He pulled out a freshly made waffle that was already topped with whipped cream and began to place the strawberries on top as well as with some blueberries. James placed the plate on a tray and got a glass of milk, "Lets go to the table Rahl."

╚XXXXXXX❤XXXXXXX╝ He was kind of upset that James didn't let him help, but he giggled when he was lifted onto the chair; James had tickled his sides. So, Rahl watched obediently as James finished the boy's breakfast. He beamed when he saw it was a waffle with whipped cream, and watched as it was topped with the cut strawberries and some blueberries. "Yummy!" He got off the chair and went with James to the dining room table, where he sat, smiling and kicking his legs back and forth since he couldn't quite touch the floor. "What about you, James? Aren't you hungry?" He had never actually seen James eat, which made him wonder if he ate at all. If he did, when and what? The guy was as thin as a twig, which was thinner than the boy's father.

James smiled, "Do not worry about me Rahl, I already ate so I'm full.." he said and placed the food in front of the boy. "Now eat up... and make sure to eat everything," he said ruffling his hair. He stood by his side and watched him eat, it was something he always did. He wanted to always be there in case the other wanted something else. James held his hands in front of him, one over the other as he watched Rahl, "How is it?" he asked hoping that the male would like it.

╚XXXXXXX❤XXXXXXX╝ Rahl ate, still curious as to when James had eaten. But, he didn't ask. Instead, he turned his attention to his breakfast and ate it. He didn't eat too fast, not wanting to choke and worry James. As he ate, he looked up at the butler when he asked how it was and smiled. "It's a little more bitter than it should be, but it's really good." He stabbed a strawberry bit with his fork and ate it, smiling. James always made the best food for him. Well, he was the only one who made his meals, though Rahl didn't quite know why. After finishing his waffle, he drank his milk and looked up at James, not noticing the milkstache he had. "Thank you, James. Heh~!"

James grabbed the napkin that was on the table and wiped the milk off his face, "You're very welcome," he said placing the napkin on the tray and picking it up. "You have a little break before your first lesson correct?" he asked placing the dirty dishes into the dish washer. "What do you plan to do before that lesson Rahl?" he asked before looking at him. James then gently placed a hand on his back and began to walk back to his room, "Though I think first you should get dressed and washed up..." he stated.

╚XXXXXXX❤XXXXXXX╝ Rahl smiled a bit and walked next to James. "Are you going to run my bath water? Hm....What should I wear today, James? I don't think we're doing anything special or having any special guests over today...." He decided to wear something loose, so that he could go outside and play in the garden with the dogs. Going over to his dresser and opened it, pulling out a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans. He grabbed his scarf, too, so he didn't get sick from the late autumn air. "Ready~!" He noticed the crumbs on his bed and tensed, walking out of the room. "L-Let's go, James. Heheh!"

James lifted his brow and followed him out, "Well no one is coming for sure, but Mr. Walter said he may come later tonight... but he'll most likely be with your father.." he stated. He walked into the bathroom and began to fill up the large tub, "Would you like me to stay in the bathroom today Rahl? Or would you like to bathe on your own?" he asked pulling out a towel and placing some bubbles into the water.

╚XXXXXXX❤XXXXXXX╝ Rahl watched him start the bath and smiled, though he looked up at the ceiling as he thought about his question. "Bathtime is always quicker if you're here. I don't get so distracted when you're here, and if I fall asleep, it's better if I'm not alone." He watched James put bubbles in the water and smiled, fumbling to unbutton his night shirt. "It's always the top one that's the most stubborn....Why is that?" The boy finally got it and unbuttoned the others before putting his shirt in the dirty laundry. Sitting down on the floor, he took his slippers off and laid them next to the sink counter so they didn't get lost. Hopefully.

James smiled, "Who knows.. there must be a reason behind it, maybe you should look that up," he said. He then pulled out a stool and sat down, "Well we dont want to be late for your lesson, so I'll stay and make sure you wash up," he said with a smile. He pulled out his book and began to read.
