The first rays of light were starting to rise above the horizon. Whispering Willow was just waking up and stood up to stretch her legs out, a yawn escaping her.
A smile crossed her face. She had just woken up from a most wonderful dream. She couldn't remember most of it, but remembered it involved another wolf whose face she couldn't see. She woke up and was happy, although she was not sure why though she felt like it was something in her dream. She wished she could remember something...anything. Similar dreams had been haunting Willow for weeks.
Her stomach growled, but she was not hungry. She had barely eaten anything. She had no appetite and always felt like butterflies were flying around in her stomach. She found this to be quite annoying. She was quite curious to know what had come over her.
Sighing, her mind still wondering about the dreams, she headed out to explore. This place wasn't her home. Willow had been travelling in search of a new place to call home. Her twin who was her only true friend had ran away, and this left her heartbroken. No longer able to stand living with her family, she had left her family as well to find her own path.

As Willow was waking up and trying to remember her dream another wolf was walking through the area with his own agenda. Silvanoshei woke early as he often did that morning. He enjoyed getting moving before other animals woke, he had spent so much time alone that it was much easier to avoid others than talk to them.
Silvanoshei had much he wanted to get done today. He enjoyed planning out his days down to the hour so that he always knew what was going to happen next and today was no exception. He had to replenish some supplies that had been used on his last adventure. First on the list was to pick daisies, these he would use as a field bandage, crushed and applied to a wound they would act as a antibacterial agent. Also the stems could be eaten to fight dysentery, a common problem among the mercenaries he tended to hang around with. Among the other items Silvanoshei needed were rose petals for his sleep spell, bat guano for fireball, and a new quill for creating scrolls.
He had left his family to find his own path and today was his first day of that new life.

Willow yawned. She was still tired. She hadn't quite adjusted to being up so early and exploring so much. At her home with her family, she had spent many lazy summer days swimming or soaking up the warmth of the sun near the water. She was always a daydreamer, quiet and kept to herself most of the time. Her sister was the only one she went out of her way to see. This new active life she had been living the past month since she'd left home was refreshing, yet exhausting.
She had wandered through the forest for quite some time. The trees in this area had seemed neverending to her. Finally she saw a clearing in the trees, and headed towards it. When she reached where the clearing had been, she stopped. In front of her there was a nice little pond, that a stream ran through. The water was crystal clear and seemed inviting to her. Surrounding the water there were flowers everywhere. This pleased her very much, as she was always making new accesories to wear over her ear. She had actually lost her last flower piece during her last hunt. She had been chasing a rabbit through unfamiliar terrain, and had tripped and fallen. Had there been any witness, she would have been highly embarassed of herself. She had actually gotten bruised up pretty bad, and had trouble walking for a few days after that little incident.
Willow decided that maybe a nice cool swim would wake her up. She ran and jumped into the water, a chill running through her as the water soaked into her fur. She floated around on her back, eyes closed and the sun's ray peeking through the few trees that did surround the pond. This was the most she had been able to relax since she'd left home.

It has been 20 years since Silvanoshei had spent time in this part of the woods. As a young pup he had ran and played with his friends here. They explored every inch of the woods, found all the best places to play and swim.
That was a life time ago. The woods had changed since then only small things were the same. Silvanoshei had spent the years following his youth leading his small pack in a nearby area. There was always something to do, someone who needed his attention, there were no more games, no swimming. It was a good hard life and it had left its mark.
The previous moon Silvanoshei had realized his pack was self sufficient now, his young were getting old enough to start their own packs. He had started walking and now found himself in the woods of his youth. The den of his best friend had been built upon it was no longer just functional it was crafted into a piece of woodland art. The ancestral home of his pack had new flowers growing along the walkways he barely knew the ones who lived there now.
Today he had felt pulled to wake up early and wander the old places. He past his friends, then his families homes. Still called but unsure as to why he kept walking. Down the road on the far side of the woods is the old swimming hole he decided to stop and see how it had changed as well. As Silvanoshei walked the path leading to the pond he heard someone in the water. Cautiously he left the path and crept through the woods to get the first glance of the stranger in the water. As he saw the Angel gliding through the water his mind went blank, his legs became stone. The answer was clear this was what had called to him.

Willow's stomach knotted up. She sensed a presence nearby, and it seemed as though it was heading towards her. Afraid to look up, she kept her eyes closed and perked up her ears to listen to the strange sounds coming from around her. Maybe if she lay still, whatever it was would just move on. She heard the sound of footsteps inching closer to where she was. Eventually the steps stopped. She sniffed the air trying to sense if the presence was a threat to her or not. A light breeze carried the scent her way, and butterflies filled her stomach. For some reason it felt familiar to her, and she suddenly felt no need to feel threatened. She opened her eyes and rolled back over onto her belly.
She looked over to where the sound had come from and there he was. She was caught completely off guard at the sight of the large, black wolf. His ears had a very unique shape to them and he wore a belt around his waist with trinkets on it. His eyes were a bright orange with hourglass shaped pupils.
His scent brought memory of her dream to her. Was he in her dream?
"It's got to be him", she thought as she smiled slightly. She didn't remember ever seeing or meeting this wolf, so her dream could be the only explanation as to the familiarity she had felt with him already.
She slowly and cautiously stepped out of the water, and shook herself to dry some of the water out of her fur. She had butterflies and was excited but nervous. She wasn't sure what the presence of this male meant for her, or why she was even happy at the sight of him.
Shyly, she walked closer to him, but she paused unsure what to say to this stranger.

Silvanoshei's eyes were a curse put on him by the ruling order of mages meant to teach him compassion. He had been willing to betray his closest friends to achieve his goals in his magic user test. His eyes showed him time as it affects all things. Flowers wither and die before him, people age and show signs of decay.
But the angel before him was unaffected by his cursed sight. He had to find out what was different about her. Silvanoshei took a step closer to Willow his only thought was if he could be close to her everything would be right again. He shyly said "greetings stranger, do you know where I could find some daisies?"

Willow smiled warmly at him. "Hello, there. I'm Willow. And yes, I love flowers! I can find you any you like", she said to him. She felt like she was rambling and talking a little fast. She was excited and kind of nervous around him.

"my name is Silvanoshei, I am searching for components for my spells. I would welcome your help I used to know these woods years ago but some things have changed."
He had no idea why this wolf was different and unaffected by his curse, but he had no intention of letting her get away until he unraveled this mystery.

"Spells?", she was intrigued. She knew there was something different about him. Now that he was closer, she looked at the trinkets he had on his belt closer. He was different indeed, but it was a nice change for her, and she was looking forward to helping him.
"I'd be happy to help you, Sil...Silvan..uhh..may I just call you Sil or Silvan?", her face flushed and she looked down at the ground slightly embarrassed with herself she couldn't fully remember his name. She fidgeted with the dirt with one of her paws, playing with it trying to distract from how excited, yet nervous she was.

"No one has called me by a nickname before so I don't have one. Magic is all around us, those trained in it can call upon the magic within us to cast spells. Some spells require components like rose petals to cast."
Silvanoshei was named after a noble elf that betrayed his family for the love of a human woman. It was embarrassing to tell strangers about.

"Ohhhh, how intriguing!", she was very interested to know more of this magic. She was always drawn to nature and flowers especially for their mere beauty, but knowing that they had potential to do more got her excited.
"Can anyone learn this magic, or do you have to be born with some ability? Can I learn? Will you teach me?," she paused a moment. "Oh, dear me! I'm so sorry if I'm asking too many questions. The idea that the beautiful flowers I'm always playing with and making pretty trinkets out of, can be used for so much more than just beauty."
She looked at him with a warm smile on her face. She eagerly waited to hear what he'd say. She hoped to find some reason to get to hang around him after she showed him where the flowers were. She didn't want to part ways with him so soon, and after hearing of this magic.

"Everyone is born with some magic in their blood, for most it takes years of study to learn to harness their natural abilities. A few are born with magic that is as natural to them as breathing. When we have the right materials I can test you to see how much natural ability you have."
Silvanoshei had no idea if the beautiful creature before him could perform magic it is a gift few can master, but he had much to study from this one so he was willing to try.
