Anger burns hot like lead in my chest
Rage boils over and streams out as rain
Guilt crumples in the path of renewal
And violent hope drives out shame

Burning bight with the flames of togetherness
Two hands clasped in each other so tight
And the nooses, the razors, the raping
Is driven out by a desperate light

Slicing skin, breaking bone, brings no hope
And starving won't wash out the pain
But to know you are not alone, in the darkness
Can teach you to dance in the rain

How many boys are out there in darkness
Too ashamed of what others have done
To come in to the light, to speak out
And find out they were never EVER alone?

This is the great sin of silence
And the price for doing nothing is high
I would rather be vulnerable and frightened
Than watch one more of my brothers slip by.
