So I was at a Thrift Store just the other day and happened to find a copy of the Stratego board game with all the pieces. Obviously the default pieces will not stand. Modification is required. What better modification can there be but Warhammer 40K?
Now for those who don't know, the pieces go as follows:
1 Marshall (ranked 10)
1 General (ranked 9)
2 Colonels (ranked 8 )
3 Majors (ranked 7)
4 Captains (ranked 6)
4 Lieutenants (ranked 5)
4 Sergeants (ranked 4)
5 Miners (ranked 3)
8 scouts (ranked 2)
1 Spy (Any piece it attacks is captured and removed from the board)
There are also 6 bombs and the flag that's supposed to be captured.
The higher the rank, the more likely the piece is to kick your teeth in.
So I find myself torn on just what figures from the Warhammer 40K setting I should be using for this endeavor. I will need suggestions for two sides (The Imperium verses Chaos of course) The sides are blue vs red but I don't want to pigeon hole it in to Chaos Marines vs Space Marines. Variety is key.
So suggestions please! Give this thrift store game a new chance at life...a better one! Well it's in the 40K universe so I suppose I don't know about better...

Siege of Vraks theme? So basically the Space Marines, IG, and Inquisition versus Renegades, Chaos Space Marines, and Chaos Daemons. Rank 10 obviously has to be the Inquisitor Lord Hector Rex and An'ggrath the Unbound.
Or you could theme it with the Horus Heresy.
