Basic operation for me
Right now I'm using an m-audio "producer" mic, a cheap pop filter and protools se for recording
(I'm still learning how to get the right levels in my songs...they've been alot lower than I want them to be).
But basically I just search for beats on youtube. Then I use an youtube to mp3 converter to get the beat on to my computer. Start up protools, make a new session, add the mp3 file into the session, and record, I use headphones and attach it to the mic so the instrumentals won't double and I can monitor my own voice.
After that, all you need is the lyrics and a quite room to record in (preferably a room with not a lot of echo)

I hope this helps, I'd really like to hear some stuff from you.

ahh my computer is in a big room so i thought to invest in a laptop and do it elsewhere. Are those mics expensive? Is Pro Tools the only software that can record?
and sorry i wont be recording anytime soon...it'll be likes 2-4 years when i could ever record.

The mic was on sale for $60 when I brought it (it's usually $100) and the protools disc is included when you buy it. But if you don't want to use protools and your planning on investing in a laptop then you should buy a macbook pro, it will have garageband installed onto it which you can use.

Wouldn't it be easier to use pro tools on a laptop...I have nothing against apple it's just the MacBook pro is really out of reach

Well of course, I just find garageband easier to use, and if your going to get a laptop and you have the funds for it you might want to go MBP. But yeah you can use Pro tools for mac or pc, just make sure you look up the OS requirements before you purchase.

BTW, the official name of what I use is the Avid Vocal Studio

2nd person besides VyrusTheGr8 that I can jam from Gaia.
Nice flow and lyrical play.

You collab with people on gaia often? I noticed some other Gaians in your list, namely Desperado.
I wouldn't mind spitting a few bars with you.
