Hiya there everyone!
*emo*
It's been a while since this moocher has posted anything here...*looks shifty*
But I hope to make up for that now by posting what happened to me yesterday.
Here it goes!
I was wating for the bus, while going home from work. This bus stop is right next to a large green park/square in the middle of the city. Here there are always a huge amount of pidgeons all the time.
I was sitting in the bus stop, when I heard flutterig and thuding behind me, behind the glass wall of the stop. I looked around and saw two silly pidgeons who were, or so I thought, duking it out. But after the second or thrid thump, I realised that there was something not right about these two birds.
I took a closer look and saw that these two silly things were caught up in a long, tangled piece of string. One ird was chocking, as this thread was about his head; the other's feet (both of them) were caught in this theread.
This probably came about when the two silly things started to fight about something, them being boy brids and all...
Both birds were so tired out that when I bent down, I could easily pick them up, and they didn't even try to fight, so they must have been like that for a while, poor things.
Unfortunately, I didn't have anything with which I could have cut the thread.
A group of four or five tourist girls (probably spanish) came up and asked what was happening, out of curiousity, most likely. I asked them if they had anything to cut the thread, but they hadn't.
I asked a guy walking past, but he simply gave me a 'look', like 'how disgusting to be holding birds in your hands'.
Then a lady pushing a pram (with a very active toddler in it) with one hand and holding the leash of an excitable terrier in the other called over:
"Do you need scissors?"
But an old lady had already come over from the bench where she had been smoking. She tottered over, like a nice wrinnkled prune and looked critically at the poor birds.
"What about this?" she asked and put her burning cigarette butt to the string and burnt the thread.
GENIUS!!! heart
The birds became detached, and though we couldn't get all of the thread off them, they could now move and fly away.
HUGE thanks to the people who helped! heart heart heart
And for the people who simply ignored the two birds, and ignored my question without bothering to reply:
Would it have been too much to ask for that you reply 'no' if yuo don't want to help?
