[~+~] Sooo. I've been working over the Summer, and will be for another five weeks or so.
I've been contemplating buying a 3DS since it came out, as before that i was contemplating a DSi. ;>_>
I'm not a fan of the XL consoles, as they're just too big in my opinion.
I miss my gaming stuff, i had a PS2, but couldn't take it to uni with me, and with it being so old it's hard to get hold of games for it anymore. ;>_> I'm thinking a 3DS would use less electricity than something like a Wii.
But anyway, what i'm getting at...Over here they're around £135. Do any of you own one, and/or do you think it's worth buying one?

Honestly a 3DS would be a better choice than the DSi.
I personally wouldn't buy one merely for the fact that there aren't enough games I'd like for it (yet). I mean, the choices of OoT3D and ToA3D are almost enough for me to drop the money but eh hahah I mean, battery life can be morbid with the 3D on.
I know how you feel about the PS2 thing. sad

Personally, I wouldn't recommend buying the 3DS unless you are a big fan of Nintendo. There are three main reasons of why I didn't buy it. But I've used it a couple of times since my friend bought it and lend it to me.
1. There isn't many good games for it. Just the classics, like The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart and other very few good tittles. Also as seen before with the other DS is that they keep evolving so fast that you tend to keep wasting more money to get the new Generation in order to play new good games with new technology, which is ridiculous. Is like they release one DS like a prototype only for two years later to release a better one and so on.
2. It has a low battery life with the 3D feature on, which is disappointing. It only last like four hours or even less unless you buy an accessory for it that costs you more money to play more time. When designing a handheld the priority of it is the lasting battery life time using all its available features. It was clearly that Nintendo wasn't thinking of that. If you name a console for that you have to make sure it works alright with that feature.
3. Health problems. When using the 3DS with the 3D feature on, it gives headaches more than often. It was the first thing customers pointed out when it was released. Some headaches lasts more than two hours even after stopping playing. The 3D also stresses your eyes , provoking headaches and damaging your eye sight. Withing two months of using it I had to change my eyeglasses because I couldn't see well from far any more and my best friend had to start using eyeglasses.
There are other problems the 3DS has but I won't say about them. It also has other cool features like the camera and that you can use WiFi and browse the internet, but if you're buying you really need to like it. This is my opinion of the 3DS and I personally think its not worth buying one. Once you played all games you get bored of it and it just sits on a corner of your room accumulating dust. Hope this opinion helps you even if it is a negative one.

[~+~] Yeah. I noticed the lack of games too. But then since they just released the XL version of it, maybe that means that they have some better games planned?
Yeah I've heard. It's more...I'd probably buy a DSi over the 3DS generally, as the 3D bit doesn't appeal a massive deal. Not really sure why. But. Considering there's such a small price difference here between the two, at least from what i've seen, I kind of view it with an attitude of I may aswell just pay a bit more and get the newest model, as some good games will come out (hopefully, Zelda looks really good). And you can play the DSi games on the 3DS.
But then would it be worth getting the DSi for the battery life? But again, there's the problem of if it dies out, whether you can get the old games for it again.
Thank you both of you, you have given a helpful insight. c:

My friend has a 3Ds and other than the fact that it appears to be 3D without any glasses or really cool. She says that after an hour with the 3D function on your eyes start to hurt.
