Okay, I'm in desperate need of advice on what to do regarding a Betta that I kind of don't want but can't get rid of. So, I'm going to try to keep this short and with as little personal complaints as possible.
My betta fish died last week. I still haven't cleaned or sterilized the tank he died in, let alone allow it to cycle again. I'm totally unprepared for a new fish.
Guess what I have gotten today? A new betta fish. I don't know how old this fish is, he came from petsmart, he's kind of ugly (he's grey and has light coloured eyes that creep me out) and he has a broken dorsal fin.
Before you all jump on me, this was my dad's fault. He's the one who bought the fish when he found out I was looking online for betta fish breeders.
Right now I have him in an unheated, unfiltered one-gallon tank with one decoration and some aquarium salt to try to treat his bad fin. Again, I haven't even STARTED to prepare my five gallon tank, which I was actually hoping to replace but can't really afford to do so right now.
I don't know what to do.
TL;DR, dad got me an ugly/injured betta fish that I don't have a good set up or money for, and I don't know what to do.
