First off I'll introduce myself: I'm Tove! Feel free to call me Tove, Apo, Cat, or whatever else comes to mind. I joined this guild here because I was invited to it. c: I haven't read/watched anything manga or anime related in probably five or six years, so I have high hope something new can be suggested.
The anime doesn't have to of ended already, but I do like shorter series that have a conclusion. Things like the never-ending 200+ episode series don't interest me (i.e. Naturo, Bleach, etc.). And although it's taboo to a lot of people, I'd like to have it in English, if at all possible. (Though, reading well-written subtitles are great, too, I guess.)
My favourite anime & manga series was Full Metal Alchemist, if that helps w/ suggestions? I don't wanna watch a romance drama, or anything way off into the realm of fantasy. I don't mind some fantasy, or some romance/drama, but not surrounded in it. I enjoy serious anime, or dramatic ones. I'll watch a good comedy, though. c:
What are some of your suggestions? Or what are your favourite anime/mangas? Just list off some good ones, I'm sure one of them is alright.

Hello Tove and welcome to the guild smile Do you enjoy watching anime of the comedy genre? If so, I suggest you watch 'Great Teacher Onizuka' as it is plain humorous. It's also in English already if you find the right one smile

Requiem of the Phantom was amazingly good. Music, storyline, art, everything was mind blowing. There's barely any romance but complex character development between the assassins.
Give it a go! I'm sure you'll be attached in less than two episodes. emotion_bigheart

Angel Beats has always been a favorite of mine, though it does get a bit more romantic towards the end, but for most of the series, the action plot remains the same. (13 episodes)
Let's see.. Then there's also Angelic Layer which is a good one of 26 episodes I believe? A modern Japan series, which has a touch of romance, but it stands by the same plot-line towards the end.
Hope I helped some!

Hi ~ I'm Tara. I'm new here & I like anime so I thought I'd chip in to this thread. haha Have you heard of Sayounara, Zetsubou Sensei? It's not really romantic at all and as far as any anime I've ever seen I think the concept is quite original. It's a slice of life anime about a depressive teacher who always makes these half assed suicide attempts. That makes it sound pretty unpleasant but actually it's hilarious. razz Anyway, it's not too long a series either. It's about 13 episodes with a few bonus episodes & there's also a second season.
Hope I helped ~
