I started my first attempt at crochet an hour ago. I officially have no idea how to crochet. gonk I read tons of guides, but I can't get a magic ring to work right--scratch that, I'm multitasking. Just found a youtube video that explained it clearly to me. neutral That's what I get for trying to do this at midnight.
It's going to be a tiny octopus. Hopefully. 3nodding All I have is scraps of fabric for stuffing, three skeins of Red Heart crochet thread, and the tiniest crochet needle thingy you could ask for. xd All the stuff all of the guides said not to use.

Nope, no idea how to do this. I created the magic ring three times, following several tutorials, and it all looks a mess. Maybe I should try making a scarf first.

When I first started I just practiced the basic stitches over and over again ( chain, single, and double). I have a really short attention span so I just stick with small stuff I can make up really quickly. This lady REALLY helped me. she explains things really well and goes in slow mo so you can follow along. Crochet Geek Playlist

I decided to start a granny square afghan. I've been putting it together in sections, instead of crocheting all the needed granny squares, and then putting them all together. So far I have two panels, with 6 granny squares each in them.
This afghan is going to take forever. xp

At the moment a scarf ^^ I usually don't even have the patience to make something like that XD (I attempted often to knit one but always stopped.. that and I'm better at crochet XD) I'd really like to finish this one though.
