I get these from time to time. The one I have notice a pattern with is with Angrenor Once-Honored. I usually stop by Windhelm at least once, and while I'm there I usually beat the hell out of that a*****e who keeps the Dunmer up at night and then I give gold to Mr. Once-Honored. Well he usually dies not long after.

Come to find out he is Marrigable, which leads me to believe that his death is not scripted, and these letters come to you when NPCs you've helped die.

So my question is this: Has anyone else gotten one of these? If so, do you remember for who, and did they seem to die at random?

In my 200 hours of gameplay, this has never happened to me. I'm curious. Wonder if I can pay him then slaughter him.

In neither of my two characters have I ever gotten one of those letters. Interesting I learn something new about this game every day.

In neither of my two characters have I ever gotten one of those letters. Interesting I learn something new about this game every day.

I've had 2 or 3, none this save though, I look after my NPC's <3 especially traders, trainers, quest contacts and marriageable's.

But, you shouldn't get any of these unless a dragon has attacked an un-walled town/city and everyone was outside at the time (My Riverwood blacksmith keeps getting killed by dragons cause he keeps trying to kill them...Idiot). They can die by thief or vampire attack (although vampire method requires DG) when you are in the same city.

But yeah, otherwise they are pretty rare.
