Crazies-
Your typical, average, every-day zombie. These can be found in literally every area across the map, minus HQ- one of the few safe places around. Other than in the walls of HQ, Crazies are literally everywhere. And where there's one, there's a hundred more just waiting for that call to action... That high-pitched, blood-curdling scream...
Twitchers-
A cut above the regular zombies, these freaks of nature have somehow... Evolved, so that they can move at speeds up to nearly 70 mph on foot. Included in the freaky evolution is their uncanny jumping abilities; easily able to clear three stories in one jump, these things can pounce from just about anywhere. Their claws give them traction and can even grip into solid concrete... So human flesh is no match when they go for the kill. Best to take care of these first. They're generally found in Central City, but sometimes one or two will accompany a horde of Crazies and almost act like a 'leader'...
Abominations-
Big, freaky, mutated hulk-things. These monsters basically beat the s**t out of anything that moves, then picks up the body (or sometimes, what's left of it) and launches that at the next thing that moves. While it generally prefers up close and personal as far as fighting goes, it has definitely been known to throw things to damage faraway opponents. Also note that it is capable of very fast, very short sprint/charges that can be very detrimental to the target's immediate health. Watch out for these suckers, they're harder to kill thanks to their tougher skin. Even when you strike a fatal wound... These bastards die slow, too. They mostly hang out around Central City and the Nest, but strays sometimes wander elsewhere.
Hunters-
These creatures prefer the dark recesses of the underground or the Forest as opposed to the light of day. They use their natural coat of black fur to blend in perfectly with their surroundings, using stealth to sneak up on unsuspecting prey... Then their sickle-like claws take care of the rest. These things can hold their own against Abominations in terms of raw strength, but are much more agile than their ape-like brethren; be cautioned, this is no enemy to fool around with. Their eyes are very sensitive to light, but aside from that and a strong aversion to fire they're pretty much the perfect killing machines.
Flyers-
Either birds got infected with the stuff, or already-infected Crazies somehow radically evolved and grew wings; either way, these things are flying now, too. These mostly stick to the Cliffs and Mount Seabreak, so as long as you steer clear of those places, your skies should be equally clear.
Creepers-
Bugs. Big, crawly suckers, too. Generally shaped like a centipede, but with a stumpier body and spider-like mandibles and eyes, these things can be anywhere from the size of your average housecat to the size of your average house. And what's worse is, they blow up when they get close. The smaller ones, they'll strap themselves too ya, wrap their buggy little legs around your midsection and go blam- smearing you across the sidewalk, pronto. The bigger ones, they generally save the big bang for a last resort, trying to smash you first. Luckily these things are pretty territorial, meaning rare. They stick mostly to the tops of Mount Skylight, and in the Ravine and underneath the Hospital.
Frankensteins-
These are basically whatever leftover scraps the Crazies could find, after being tossed into whatever vat of primordial ooze they have in that Nest of theirs. The stuff inside 'em won't let 'em die, not until their bodies are burned. They can be smashed so bad they can't do anything, and still be alive... You have to burn these things. The good news is, most of 'em can't do much. You know, being leftovers, they're not capable in combat. The top half of a man's torso won't pose much of a threat to anyone, even if it is practically unkillable. These things are the Nest's safeguard; only found wandering within, they'll attack anything with an unrecognized scent.
Soldiers-
Whatever's left of the military. They've got guns, grenades, tasers, food, water, all the good stuff. And they keep it on-base at all times. You probably don't want to go messing with them, since they have orders to shoot anything not in a uniform or labcoat on sight.
Deathbots-
The military's clean-up plan. A prototype machine built specifically to kill everything in its path. It's basically a little hovering cannonball covered in razor blades that chases down anything with a pulse... Until it no longer has a pulse. All military personnel have a Failsafe key somewhere on their person at all times; the Key emits a radio wave that deters the Deathbot from that particular pulse.
Survivors-
In the Plains, there's rumored to be a not-so-small group of 'immune' people trying to rebuild society. Go to the Plains, see for yourself- or not. They've got snipers posted, so they'll put you down before you can even get a glimpse of their Citadel. Unless you know the signal...
Blood Hounds-
Yeah, it even got Man's Best Friend. These aren't your 'aww, look at the puppy' dogs, not anymore. Even the toy poodles have been transformed, mutated into vicious packs of lion-sized beasts. Luckily the transformation kills most, and the separate packs are very territorial. That second part is only lucky because it means less dogs to bother you... It's a lot less lucky when you're in their territory. They cover a wide expanse of land, these dogs, and you can find at least one pack in every area except HQ; but why would you want to? They can't be trained, they're too unstable.
Hounders-
Remember when I said the dogs couldn't be trained? ... Yeah, well. I kind of lied. Happens sometimes. These are perhaps some of the most dangerous opponents you can find; a Crazy almost as big and strong as an Abomination, almost as fast as a Twitcher, retaining humanlike intelligence and the ability to tame Blood Hounds. They are generally found in charge of the largest groups of Crazy, the true hordes of 150+. They have a flair for the dramatic, and often wear some distinguishing mark- a headband, perhaps, or crude war-paint in blood. And they can use weapons. Generally simple but effectively brutish clubs, although you might find one that was lucky enough to find a sword or something. Either way, these aren't something you want to play around with. They can lead their groups effectively, have simple battle strategies figured out, can set traps, and in one-on-one combat can be even more lethal than your typical Abomination or Twitcher. Definitely something to watch out for. Generally seen riding their Blood Hound into battle with the rest of the horde, they're basically a one-man cavalry and general, all in one. These are basically mini-boss battles that will be found randomly throughout the RP as determined by any guild mods. So they could be anywhere. And if you see one, about a hundred and fifty Crazies are probably right behind him.
