Bio: His parents and him used to live in Oreburgh with his father working at the mines and his mother being a co-ordinator, mostly traveling within Sinnoh so she could still spend time with her family. Akihiro first became interested in combinations by watching her rehearse though back then he thought contests were 'girly' mostly by influence of his father though he did enjoy spending time with his mother and learning different types of combinations, only he liked to change them and 'play pretend' with her pokemon making up stories and having the pokemon act them out and come up with different combinations of his own ( mostly mimicking special effects or thing he saw in comics), both his parents were okay with this back then as all children play at that age and they thought the most they had to deal with with was a child with an overactive imagination.
They were kind of right.
From an early age Akihiro knew his parent's didn't really like each other. They'd pretend for his sake but the issues eventually would rise to the surface in the way of yelling and fighting and thrown dishes. During this time Akihiro became even more of a shut-in spending hours on end on his computer or game console or taking walks. His father worked and his mother traveled ( to stay away from his father) so he was on his own a lot. It was lonely sometimes but it wasn't that bad, it was peaceful, and Akihiro was good at handling himself. And hey, no broken dishes!
Eventually though, even that bit of peace was gone, his father got tired of his mother 'never being there' his mother got sick his father 'not supporting her'. Things were said, things were done, things were broken,
They divorced when he was 13, his mother leaving for Hawthorne while his father stayed in Oreburgh with Akihiro. That is one thing that got to him and Akihiro doesn't really talk about it. As seeing his mother walk away wasn't easy even if he saw it coming. A couple of months later Akihiro's dad began seeing Valerie a realtor from the neighboring Jubilife.
Until he was 15 he lived with his father in Oraburgh spending summers and holidays with his mother who was teaching a contest class in Hawthorne (where she in turn began seeing the father of one of her students) After the summer of his 15th birthday he came home to find out he and his father were moving to Jubilife Condominiums with Valerie and her kids. About a year later his mother married Jeff( the guy she was seeing). Since then his father has moved up to being an archeologist who now works in the Museum . Akhiro's parents share custody of him and he spends appointed time with them both(one summer here, one summer there, Easter here, thanksgiving there, Christmas here new years there ect.) it's a good arrangement and less messy than most custody arrangements in divorces tend to be. Or at least it would be if his parents could be near each other without starting world war 3. For while both parents have their son's best interest at heart they can't forgive each other enough to talk to each other without venom and since each blames the other the chances of them getting help to get along are slim and none. Instead they avoid each other like the plague, not even taking their son to each others house but rather sending him and only spending time with him one at a time. Akihiro fins this as the best option knowing if their parents were to actually meet the result would not be pretty ( he has lots of experience on that one from when his parents were still together) he actually hates the fact that they both moved on with their lives remarried and had 2.5 kids and now he's the odd one out on both families and gets shipped around from one place to another by parents who don't really know what to do with him but 'eh what are you gonna do. That's family'. He isn't exactly bitter about it (a proper sarcastic maybe) but he does want to move away from the craziness for a while and find his own place, since he never really feels at home no matter what house he's in. He has a slight dislike for his stepmother and enjoys making wry slightly patronizing comments he knows she'll never catch. He likes to preform skits he writes himself with his pokemon and decided to major in Contests to perfect his technique. He also enjoys using the lighting and sound equipment in his performances. He kind of has his own style and doesn't really like the spotlight ( slight stage fright) letting his pokemon take it instead.
His father doesn't really approve of Akihiro's performing thinking it not suitable for a man and also because it reminds him of his ex-wife. His mother despite being a co-ordinator is more...traditional and doesn't understand Akihiro's approach to things. Doesn't matter much to Akihiro, he's used to the background and actually kind of enjoys it. He likes his mother's place better than his father because they usually leave him alone, whereas his father just frustrates him, but he likes the city life in Jubilife rather than quiet places such as Hawthorne where gyms and contest aside the most you can do is take a walk at the park. He gets bouts of feeling lonely but for the most part doesn't really let it catch up to him and when it does, it's not like anyone notices.
Personality: Sarcastic, wry and socially awkward. Akihiro's the kind of guy who the universe seems to like to make fun of. He has a rather dry sense of humor and sometimes talks to himself either out of frustration or excitement .A nice guy at heart, Hiro is generally geeky, nonathletic and shows little interest in sports, much to his fathers' disapproval. When allowed to talk about things he is interested in such as that new video game that came out, or the new combination he's working on or why the movie he just saw was incredible or horrible his face will light up and deadpan expression and satiric nature retreats. The truth is he's used to people not asking or loosing interest and for the most part would simply rather be sarcastic though it's unknown if the sarcasm is some coping mechanism or just his nature. He has really bad luck and timing with the things he says and usually ends up saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. He also has a healthy obsession/possession thing with his chair (it's a gamer thing)
