The largest city in the area. Run-down, decrepit, falling apart... These adjectives are all vast understatements to what's happened to this place. The Crazies that dwell here are of the average variety, but unfortunately they're found here in such vast quantities that it doesn't much matter. Also found here are two mutated variations of your average Crazy; the Twitcher, a super-fast, super-athletic creature easily capable of leaping rooftops and climbing walls; wicked claws give it grip, not just on concrete but human flesh as well. And of course, everyone's favorite... The Abominations. Huge, brutal hulks of flesh that basically smash anything around them. They'll throw cars, chunks of concrete, lightpoles or whatever else they can grab- including other Crazies... and you.

Lee's eyes scanned the horizon from under the cover of her makeshift shelter, atop the hardware store she and her little group were residing in. Things had been running smooth the last few days; only the occasional Crazy meandering about. Not even worth the bullet, those ones. The dark haired woman pulled her machete over the forearm of her cybernetic limb, which caused a quiet grinding noise as she did. Improvised whetstone if ever there was one. She looked down at her bone-colored artificial limb, halting the honing of her blade. As she often did, she flexed the fingers and wrist, just to hear the whir of the inner-workings in her head. Looking up from the trance of her cybernetic arm, she noted that, just like the previous day, and the one before that, there were no Crazies out in the open. "Now... why doesn't that give me the warm fuzzies..." She whispered to herself, but it came out at a volume that someone climbing up from the store below could have heard it.

Marshal was perked on top of a box when he heard the scraping of Lee's machete against her metallic limb. That was really all they heard this morning. No Crazies were around for about three days now, and it was making him anxious beyond belief. Letting out a sigh, he got up and stretched, tired of sitting still. He thought moving around would help relieve the anxiety.
Hearing Lee's comment, Marshal walked over to her and said quietly, "Because we haven't seen hide or hair from the Crazies. It's making me anxious as hell, Lee. I don't like this silence one bit." Marshal then leaned against the edge of the building with his arms, looking outwards with her.

A small glance from Lee was the only recognition Marshal received before he spoke. With his words, she gave a single chuckle and set her machete on the roof space beside her chair. "Don't like the silence, eh?" She said, a devious, yet serious smile grew on her face. "Y'know, I could..." Lee proceeded to pull her sidearm from its holster on her thigh and aim it skyward. "I could just fire into the air and make noise! Would that make you feel better?" She waved the weapon around in the sky, her volume topping out at about indoor levels. "Listen Marshal... this silence is the only like it we've had in a long time... enjoy it while you can..." Lee holstered her weapon and began sharpening her blade again.

Marshal heard Lee chuckle, then looked at her like she was crazy when she began to swing her sidearm like a lunatic. When she put it away and commented about "enjoying the silence", Marshal sighed. "I guess you're right. I just don't understand why the Crazies aren't roaming at all."
Grabbing his own sidearm, he pulled out the clip and made sure it was full, then put it back. Holstering it, he got up from the ledge and walked back to his seat. He started whistling out of nowhere, trying to make it less quiet. It was a simple tune, but catchy. Hopefully Lee didn't mind.

"Crazies are probably off hording at some other poor b*stards..." Lee muttered, looking down at her work. She shot Marshal another glance as he started his little whistling tune. "And unless you can start humming AC/DC, I suggest you can it. At least if there's AC/DC playing when we get swarmed next, I'll be too in the zone to die..." There were a few passing moments of silence before the woman spoke again. "You've got the increased senses, right? Hows about you try and listen in on anything that might be around us?"

R a y a Jackson ✖Raya giggled as she bounced past her companions. " Silence is nice yes, however I'd prefer hearing the crazies than not hearing them. I smell Abominations. And no Miss Lee, I'm not talking about you this time. " RJ giggled again before skipping forward and pausing before she was about to kick a large piece of metal. She had been sitting around the camp for a while and had become bored. She wanted to do nothing more than yell at the top of her lungs and kick all the metal she could find so she could kill off some crazies. But little one... Abominations... " Yeah yeah I know I know. Be a good little girl.. Siiiiigh~. Marshaaaaallll!! Don't whistle ACDC!! Why nooottt... Oh oh I know! Iron Maiden? Run to the Hills? Yeah... That song is still one of the best.." HUSH! They will hear you. Yes yes they will hear us. Oh shush you too! Confusing this little girl. She really isnt little any more.... Raya frowned and put her finger to her lips, silencing both voices in her head. She adjusted her glasses and pulled her hood over her head before crouching down and drawing in the dirt, humming the heavy metal song.

Stopping his song mid-whistle, Marshal hightened his hearing while he said, "Well, just to let you know, I'm going to be deaf for a few seconds, so if you really need me, use motions or something." Closing his eyes, Marshall listened as well as he could with heightened hearing. Confirming Raya's comment, he did indeed hear the different steps of Abominations. He heard the smaller pitter patter of Crazies as well, although how many elluded him at this moment.
And then the pop happened. His ears rang for a moment, and then nothing. Nothing came to his ears: Raya's humming, the wind, anything. Sighing, or at least feeling that he sighed, he turns, walks towards Lee and nodded, motioning to Raya to confirm he agreed. Trying to say in a dull roar, "Yeah, she's right. That and some Crazies. I'm not sure how many though. It sounded to cluttered to tell how many."

Lee gave Marshal a firm nod in understanding of his, for lack of a better term, deafened words, her mood darkened for a moment as Raya bounced up. Being that cheery in the middle of a hell-hole like Central was not normal. Another glance at her cybernetic limb made her chuckle scornfully to herself. She was far from normal, too... she had little room to talk. In the midst of Raya's senseless giggling, the words "The Trooper" set a big grin on her face. Slowly turning in her seat, she faced the near-crazed young girl. "Kid, you just earned yourself a 'Miss Lee' seal of approval..." She gave Raya a thumbs up with her cybernetic hand and smiled cheekily. "Next time you go all loco, consider your crazy little a** saved, y'hear?" Lee turned around and grabbed one of hatchets from under her chair; sharpening the improvised WMD (Weapon of Mass Decapitation) on her arm next. "Least we know one thing... we aren't the ones getting mauled right now... that's luck we haven't had in a while."

R a y a Jackson ✖Raya leaned backward while still standing up, doing something similar to a standing bridge, and gave two thumb up's back. Um.. They were thumbs up, they just happened to be pointing to the ground. "Yaay~!And it's not crazy Lee.. It's berserk. SUCH a difference! " RJ said in her best preppy high school girl voice ever. She stood up normally and looked down from the edge of the store, hands on her hips. " I do however share Marshall's concern.. Hearing that many limbs hit the floor is a bit... concerning. It's more than an ugly and her six babies that's for sure.." Her preppy attitude was gone, her giggles, joy, everything vibrant had left and was replaced with something dark and dangerous. Raya's bright green eyes became a shade darker, her green hair a shade darker, and her smile literally became sharper. Kill the uglies! KILL THEM!! I will destroy all you ugly fu**ers...

Wishing that he could hear, Marshal noticed Lee grabbing her weapons. He went over to where he was sitting earlier, grabbing his side pouch that carried small amounts of first aid supplies, additional ammo, and an empty slot for any improvised melee weapons he might have or come across. He also grabbed his fireman's axe that he managed to procure before he ran into Lee and Raya.
Looking in their direction, he gave a thumbs up. At the moment he did, he realized that he had a small amount of his hearing back. It was the equivalent of a constant ringing in his ears, but if he listened intently, he could make out small sounds. "Well, I have some amount of hearing back. Just speak up a bit for a little while. Anyways, we might want to set up some addition defenses. I believe that staying here would be more benefical to us for now."

Shaking her head slightly at Raya's sudden, yet not unexpected, change in mood, Lee turned to Marshal and gave a little nod. Lifting the volume of her voice for now, she halted her sharpening. "You're right. We need to stay hunkered down for a bit. What we really need is more sheet metal... the splintery kind that tears the little f*ckers to shreds when they try to break through it... the sh*tty kind..." She said blankly, running the axe over her arm again. "I'm thinking one of us'll go scouting tonight... see what we can manage..."

Taking note on Lee's suggestion of sheet metal, Marshal looked over the edge once more. Thinking out loud, he said, "Maybe some rigged explosives. I'm sure it's not that hard to make a makeshift bomb. Fill it up with some shrapnel like nails or something, and it could be deadly as hell."
The idea of scouting being brought up, Marshal said, "If you want, I can go on the scouting mission while you and Raya set up the defenses.

R a y a Jackson ✖ Continuing her change as the scuffle picked up the pace and the smell of rot slowly drew near, Raya shook her head. " I'll go. I can cover more distance and carry more. You and Lee use what we have here and set up while I'm gone. It appears my liking for cap guns will come in handy. Marshall, I need your help. We can actually make land mines. With caps, matches, nails, and small tins. " Jackson then went into her own chest and pulled out a large bag of candy in little tins, and a large bag of caps, along with a fair sized bag of matches. While in her giddy mood she thought sweets, cap guns, and fire were the best. However now that danger was close and her alterations were kicking in, she saw land mines on demand. With the bags in one hand, Raya lifted a table up onto its legs and put the plastic pouches down before grabbing the chairs she had found three days before. " You guys start eating the sweets, but leave some for me neh? I'm going out for metal and screws." Keeping her mutations under control RJ jumped off the building and went inside the trashed computer store, and after fifteen minuets of looking she found little laptop screws. She sighed and placed them in a small leather pouch on her side then walked out the front door, her long black hair trailing behind her. She then made three long silent jumps, quickly vanishing from her companions sight. I find it funny how a building store is so close. She quickly ran into the construction depot and grabbed three large buckets of three inch and two inch screw, as well as one large - and friends, this was a three litre container - bucket of drywall screws. She also grabbed three rolls of gorilla tape before running outside again. She stuck to the shadows and watched a few slow moving monsters before running and leaping again. She put most of her power in her legs, and in two bounds she was back at the base. She put the screws on the table and grabbed a tin of candy. She took off the lid and emptied the whole container of sour sweets into her mouth. Making quite the face she finished her candy before jumping off the roof again, this time in the opposite direction. The total time that had gone by was half an hour. In another half a large shiny object was sailing towards the base. Eventually Raya was at such an angle, the sun reflected off the metal right onto the base, making it glow with light. Raya giggled and was back to her normal giggly state. " Nine!! I found nine!! Some are big, as you can see, and some are not so big. But all big enough for a silly little rotter to bash through. Did you guys eat ALL my candy?! "(( MIIINES >D ))

Matt stumbled out of the forest, blinking from the change in light. "That was some freaky s**t..." Matt muttered to himself, that whole Alpha-male thing was one to many thing to worry about in his mind. "Let's get the damned food and go back to HQ" He said to whoever was behind him, he wasn't really paying any attention. He kind of already figured Alex would be hearing this thought loud and, very loud. Matt stopped close to the outskirts of the City, but still close enough to the forest to wait for his friends.
