This is a generalization of how the roleplay will go
To keep the roleplay fair and precise, I will set a few regulations. Feel free to post opinions and suggestions. And we will discuss as a group.
All RPC's must post at least once in their own locations before making their way to the first summit in Castle Morningstar. We need to have some form of realism, here. Your character needs just a little development before showing. Perhaps explain why your character will be attending. Give other characters something to work with.
Summits are not places to start wars. Save that for later when everyone is fully prepared.
An idea: During the first segment of the summit, both the ruler of the Ghostlands and the Darklands will not be present. This is the segment in which the The Kingdoms of Light (i.e, Crownlands, Frostholm, Elvendom, etc) will discuss the probable conflict with the darkness, etc etc. After this discussion, said rulers will make their entry.
The first summit will require the presence of all Kingdom leadership. The topics that will be discussed are as follows:
The developing darkness in the west and south.

To clarify, Freya and I talked about this earlier today; a separate thread to post and discuss plot ideas. The first post will constantly be edited as a synthesis of existing ideas, and any involved players are free to object or make recommendations at any time. Nobody has complete control over the plot, and, should a conflict arise, group consensus should be the mechanism of resolution. We may have missed something, so if anybody has problems with the existence of this thread, please make them clear below.

I love this idea. It's great and allows the whole guild to build the story together coming up with new story arcs as the rp goes along. ^^
I shall put it to use immediately.
I love the current idea however the Sky Baron(Ruler of Skyland) will not be there nor will he be involved in any talk at the summit(he can be mentioned as a potential threat if wanted but then scoffed at.) or involved in any conflict. Pretty much until I say so Skyland stays Isolated from everything going on til I say so. As I have an awesome idea for their entrance and story but it requires them to be left alone til I say so.

Atticus Starwind will be at the Summit. While not of nobility my character is friends with some members who are, mainly Zionus. That and Atticus is also the nephew of the Sky Baron. Meaning if Atticus showed up and the King knew who he was. (Sadakat if you want to know him atleast by name that would be alright) There could be some talk of how Skyland would re-act to this whole thing. I am not going to keep Skyland to myself if that was what your asking. I am just saving it for something special. Especially since we already have 2 really awesome potential enemies to the Crownlands. I don't want to throw in an unnecessary 3rd.

What a chat! Give me a moment to re read it . . .
1] The leaders of the Ghostlands and the Darklands actually were invited to the summit, however, during the first segment of the summit the other Kingdoms will be discussing the Darklands and such and the probable threat they could be. Due to this, the Ghostlands and Darklands will appear later than the other leaders.
2] I like the Orb idea, however, no one knows how many shards exist except for the Queen, and the land has never been explored, so it wouldn't be the easiest task. Hell, it would be pretty close to impossible. So many things could go wrong.
Does anyone mind if I move this discussion here? I'm sure all of us, for plot depth reasons, would support this concept, but Freya makes a decent point on the limitation of the plot device given her background. The only reason the Darkness would logically come to a meeting like this would be to declare war and mess with the light, an endgame reinforced by some plot discussions. I could perfectly conceive the King hatching a plan to use his versatile Human sorcerers to steal information from the Queen when she arrives. Since she is a being we don't comprehend in great detail, the method of extraction would have to be using another being. We could go in two directions with this. We could have the well-wishing character of a player interested on going on the quest assume a Frodo-like rule, or we could have the King calculate that the risk of the link is worth it, given its benefits, and be the participant party. The former needs not be explained and will make an addition to the depth of the quest party, while the latter could be an interesting long-term plot device, transforming the rational King into someone gradually more influenced by the darkness, and, after the war's conclusion, a man who always defers to the self-interested and genocidal solutions when calculating candidate moves. Thoughts?

I like the idea of the King becoming involved and becoming corrupted as we(the group of sellswords) Search for the crystal shards. Which keeps making me laugh as I keep thinking about the Shikon jewel in Inuyasha LOL. As for them all being in Darkfall instead of hidden across all the world. That's fine two. We did mention that we didn't want the rp spread all over the the sub-forums initially. And wanted to start in concise spots.

Well, technically, they're not all in Darkfall. They're scattered in the Darklands, which means of course, some would consequently be in Darkfall. Still, this is quite the large range of possible locations, besides the ones that are pointed out to you in area summaries.
I still don't see how this could even sound like a possible task, but it is interesting.
Edit: Well, I suppose the Kingdom is a large portion of the Darklands. I may reconsider.

Killing Orcs and finding beasts of darkness isn't all that hard. It's more of making sure the Dark Queen doesn't find out about it. Then again the Dark Queen has a crazy necromancer/summoner and Worgen to send out and stop them.
I mean it's not like they are trying to fight the Darkfall army. They are just searching the Darklands. I mean if you have a small enough decent enough group you can get anywhere. I guarantee you I could find a way to get Atticus all the way up into the Dark Queens throne room. It would be really hard and a pain in the neck especially when the insanity of the castle kicks in but we aren't talking about him having to leave just get in and get her shard. That is totally do able.
Pretty much it the actual thing to ask is this. Are you willing to remain unbiased and keep OOC information separate doing this quest. As if you just say the Dark Queen knows all in the Dark Lands or whatever you are right it is impossible. It really a decision of how you want the story to go.

Of course I'd be unbiased. I am just being realistic.
But, if somehow you could manage to navigate this land, so be it. Just realize how little the outside world knows about it.
You'd have to learn about the orb in the first place. This isn't common knowledge.
But, perhaps you could learn of it somewhere. You all would have to work that out.

(Sorta like some Metal Gear Solid stuff) >Even if the Darklands are huge, no doubt there's some Lich living with maps.
