A few out of the many verses I enjoy are:

John 14:16 - 19 NIV:

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.

John 15:19 NIV:

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Revelation 19:11 - 16 NIV:

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

1 Corinthians 12:3 - 11 NIV:

Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

I have several...but here are a few I read a lot...especially lately. Many of them have very special meaning to me and have helped me with many things.

Psalm 45:10-11

Listen to me, O royal daughter, take to heart what I say. Forget your people and your homeland far away. For your royal husband delights in your beauty, honor him, for he is your lord.

This verse has very special meaning to me. I was going through a period of self-hate where I was beating myself up constantly for mistakes of my past. I was reading my Bible one night, and this verse just...popped out at me. I felt like God was telling me, 'forget the mistakes of your past, because you are beautiful to me and I delight in that beauty. Honor me, for I am your Lord.'

...If that makes sense. ^^;;

Psalm 43:5

Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again - my savior and my God!

This verse has been read and re-read so often over this past year, I'm surprised I haven't worn out that page in my Bible. My uncle passed away last September...since then I've been going through a lot of stress and depression, sometimes severe, sometimes not. Every time I feel like I can't go on anymore, I read this verse and am reminded that my hope is in God, and that I can go on.

Lastly, Habakkuk 2:1-3

I will climb up into my watchtower now and wait to see what the Lord will say to me and how he will answer my complaint.

Then the Lord said to me, "Write my answer in large, clear letters on a tablet, so that a runner can read it and tell everyone else. But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

I bold that last part, mainly as a reminder to myself. I have had a lot of things going on these past two years, but God promised me that this year would be a year of changes for me, of blessings and joy. I keep thinking 'God, this year is half over with already, when are things going to change?' And then I read that verse, and I'm reminded. It's all in his timing, and his plan will not be delayed, it will happen right on time for when he has it planned. All I need do is follow what he's told me, and be patient.
