Um...strategy shooter I can recommend Ghost Recon Future Soldier. It has no RPG elements but more tactical elements like "How would you go in and out of a guarded compound without getting detected?" "Who do you pick off first to not raise the alarm?" etc etc. Its fun until you try to unlock more gun parts by going back and redoing missions....than realizing that it didnt warn you it will overwrite the data. So now you have to restart the game from the beginning BUT WITH NEW WEAPON UPGRADES
mrgreen Weapon customization is pretty decent in that game except the choices are limited and some of the options dont affect how you use the gun.
Another strategic game is Sniper Elite V2. Like the title says it focuses on sniping and ups the ante with the new Xray kill cam. I just bought this game and the fun factor is high, its nothing compared to MW3 or battlefield since the stealth parts are in third person and the sniping is in first but its worth checking out to distract you from other rage inducing games.
Sniper Elite is very limited for the moment, all the money went towards the xray kill cam, your choice of sniper rifles and side arms are pretty small. Im on the 4th mission and unlocked 2 handguns, 1 smg, and 1 sniper rifle.
BUT WAIT I JUST REMEMBERED Deux Ex Human Revolution is a sci fi strategic "shooter". I havent picked that game up in years...its collecting dust on my shelf
