Also called Remembering Forest, There are two paths here that can cut right through to either Eidolon Town by using Darkrai's Road, or to Pendant City by walking Cresselia's Tretury.
No one uses them though.
Only fools or the truly insane come through here.

The surrounding wood gather thick fog in it to keep travelers lost for always and eternity.
No one has figured out why, but the fog never fades and illusions are made through the forest to frighten travelers and force them deeper into getting lost. It's unknown whether it's angry spirits or wicked pokemon; and no one is brave enough to investigate.
The only actual marker is one you never want to see: A mangled oak in the very center of the forest that somehow always draws the lost back to it.

That's probably how the rumor of Phior's violent history got started: An urban legend that terrible people and their pokemon were sentenced to death in a time of war; but that a few were innocent. And that's why they're angry--dying unjustly and never being able to find their way to the other side.
But that's just a tale they tell kids to keep them from going near the forest.

Phior never got involved with civil wars or violent wars.
So then... Why were they executed...?

Dashing off didn't seem to do much at first. The forest all looked the same! Only when a fragment of light shined in ahead did a sliver of hope get restored, and grew as they closed in on it. "That must be the way out!" Dune called happily, despite the constant ambushes of pokemon. "Woa!" A night shade flung too close. "Entei, water gun there!" The totodile took aim, hitting the hiding ghost pokemon. But stantler were charging up from behind, and it'd take more than a watergun to get away. "P-pick up the pace guys!" He started to bolt away in a furious run.

"Oh no!" Lydia stopped, "My pokeball!" She turned back to see the premier ball rolling back a short distance to the forest. On her tiny budget, she couldn't afford to lose something like that!

"Leave it!" Dune reached out for her arm.

Voltz looked back, wanting to help, and being brave enough to go after it. Though a large stantler marched up faster than the others, almost on top of the tiny pokemon. The pikachu began to growl, trying to force it to back off. "Voltz, quick attack!" Lydia called to protect her pokemon. The little yellow mouse hurrying to obey in defense. But a single one hardly did much at all!

"Latios, see if you can use sand attack on it!" Dune tried to help out quickly.

"Thunderwave!" Lydia commanded further. Blinded by sand, and distracted with paralysis, the wild buck pokemon didn't even notice that it accidentally tapped the pokeball. Once in, fear took back over, and Voltz hurried to scoop it up and run. "The exit is right there!"

"Hurry!" Finally! Daylight! But what about that stampeed? Dune looked back, and not a single stantler was in sight. It was like they all just disappeared at the edge of the forest! "Man, was that an illusion too?" He rubbed at his neck, breathing heavily from the run.

"I guess... it was the... stantler..." Lydia panted, leaning on her knees for support.

"Wait! Hey!" Dune jumped in a panic. "What happened to that big one!? The big stantler!"

"Huh?" Lydia looked down at the premier ball in her hand. Did she... She couldn't have caught it. Not that easily! With an awkwardly apologetic smile, she lifted it up to show. The seal wasn't red or blinking. It just looked like any other pokeball now.

"Gah! I wish I caught one...!" He sighed in frustration, half considering going back into the forest for pokemon, but quickly deciding against it. "So... Are we really back? Please don't let it be just another trick!"

"Hold it!" Officer Jenny drove up on her cycle. "You kids need to get away from there! Don't you know this forest is dangerous?"

"Yes, you told us before officer Jenny," Lydia and Dune carried guilty looks. "But we couldn't just leave our pokemon in there! And we came back in one piece."

"What?" Jenny blinked. "This is the first time I've met you kids."

"But isn't this Musing City?" Dune asked.

"You came through the forest from Musing City?" Jenny sounded astonished. "This is Pendant City."

"Pendant City!?" The two said together. Lydia quickly taking out her pokegear to try and find just where she was now. "There's no direct road to Eidolon Town from here..."

Sara chased after Lydia and Dune the stampede on her tail. When Lydia managed to drop her premier ball she couldn't believe how much she was willing to risk for it. "It's not worth it." she called out as Voltz almost got creamed by the giant Stantler. Getting to the light Sara took a deep breath as they exited the forest. Looking behind her the Stantler was gone...

"Maybe it was..." Sara spoke like she was in a daze. "Veno...nat..." (It is... over...) he spoke falling over in exhaust. "You don't think you caught that Stantler when the ball fell do you?" she asked before hearing the sound of Officer Jenny.

Sara giggled slightly at the two's sudden disbelief that they had made it to Pendant City by going through the forest. "Yes we did actually. And we know it's a nightmare in there." Sara replied to Officer Jenny. They now knew just how bad it was in that forest and something told her none of them would be going into that forest ever again.

"You were trying to get to Eidolon Town to battle the gym weren't you?" Sara asked having a feeling it was true. Sadly they were without a direct route there. "Hey we could always take the long way around take the road to Magnolia Town and then head to Climate Town from there. There's a gym in that town so it might be worth checking out before looping back around to Eidolon Town." she told Lydia. "It's just a thought." she quickly added after that.

"I guess we could do that instead..." Lydia sighed, absolutely exhausted.

"You kids better come with me to the pokemon center and tell me exactly what happened," Jenny said in a kinder and more concerned tone. "No one has ever come out of Illusion Forest, so all the city projects to make roads in them got terminated. It'd be a big help if you could tell us exactly what you saw in there."

"Sure thing officer Jenny," Dune said from his collapsed spot. "Our pokemon can really use the rest. R-right, Sara?" He blushed a bit as he looked back at the cute, purple haired girl. "I, I mean, that place was a million times more intense than getting lost in the Safari Zone!" He halted when he realized he'd accidentally blurted out a shameful secret.

"Officer Jenny, you wouldn't believe it when we tell you, but we sure had a heck of a time just getting out alive," Lydia smiled somewhat. She'd done it. She'd gone on a wild adventure as a pokemon trainer. She'd had an intest battle in a dark forest. She'd captured her very first pokemon, and her second pokemon! She'd made friends. She'd learned to trust in her pokemon and her friends. And she slept high above the ground in the trees just before solving a great mystery and facing off a terrifying pokemon. Even if she didn't get every victory, she got a lot of experience from the whole thing. Now she was sure she could take on her first gym battle. 'I can't wait to tell mom, and Page, and everyone!'

[exit to pokemon center?]

“Don’t worry we’ll figure it out.” Sara told before picking up Venonat. “Sure thing Officer Jenny although you may not believe us.” She said not knowing if it was all an illusion or if it was truly real. Looking over at Dune who was back to his old self Sara shook her head. “Right Dune.” She said giving him a light smile. ‘That sure was an adventure.’ She thought before seeing Lydia head off. “Come on Dune.” Sara told as Venonat hoped out of her arms and she took his head.

Sara turned her head to the others one being a boy she had never seen with a Tepig and Ghastly. “You guys coming?” she asked before the boy Adam followed. Walking off to the pokemon center hoping to get a good rest after all of this.

(Exit to Pokemon Center)

((OCC: Shadow told us to have him come with us so that’s why I added that in.))
