Rainbow Dash opened her eyes, feeling the heat of the day shining in on her through her bedroom window. With a yawn Dash stretched her limps and rolled over in bed; the clock on her mantle stared back at her, its digital, red letters said 12:16. Rainbow groaned and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before she opened them again. It had been about two months since the dragon had attacked Ponyville and quite a lot had changed. Even after the repairs were finished, The Doctor had decided to stay in Equestria. Everything should have been improving, but it wasn't. Dash went into her kitchen and made herself a bowl of cereal, her head aching from having slept in too long. There was a strange sense of loss still lingering in the air. Spike hadn't been the same since being abducted by the dragon, for whatever reason he was more...distant, refined, no matter how they tried, he wouldn't talk about it, not in depth anyway. The rest of the girls were so preoccupied with the Doctor that nothing else seemed to matter anyway.

Dash walked to her front door and opened it, flipping open her mail box; to her disappointment, a certain letter she was expecting still hadn't arrived. Dash sighed, it had been two months and still no word! She slammed the box closed before returning inside; Dash was getting sick and tired of waiting, she may not have always been the best at communicating, but being blatantly ignored? She didn't deserve that! Rainbow Dash slumped back down at her table, her mood already turning pissy. At that moment, Tank walked up to join her; he nuzzled her, doing his best to comfort his master. "It's cool, it's cool, I'm fine, really. If they don't wanna talk to me then ******** 'em, I don't wanna talk to them either..." Dash pushed herself back from the table and went to her pantry, retrieving Tank's food. As she fed her pet, her mind turned towards her close friend Pinkie Pie. On any normal day, she could have always counted on her hot pink friend to cheer her up. Unfortunately Pinkie was still with her family in outer Fillydelphia. "Sugar Cube's up, the Cakes are here, when is she coming back!" After filling up her pet's bowl Dash bid him farewell and took off flying; she didn't have a destination in mind, but she hoped she could run into something to improve her shitty morning.

As Rainbow Dash woke up for the day, Pinkie Pie and the rest of the Pies were settling down for lunch. As they bowed their heads while Papa Pie said grace, Pinkie couldn't help but long for her life in Ponyville. They ate without much conversation, as had always been customary in their household, once they had finished, Mama Pie would take their plates and they would return to their "chores". Why her father had decided to take up the occupation of "rock farmer" she would never understand, and perhaps always resent him for it. While the rest of the fillies her age had been out playing and enjoying their lives her and her sisters slaved away all day and were warned against the dangers of the outside world. Not that this mattered, the first chance she got Pinkie had left the farm and she knew Inkie and Blinkie would soon be doing the same. They were almost fully grown and Pinkie would be happy to welcome them in her home. "Um, Papa, did I get any mail today?" Her father simply shook his head, not looking up from his mail. "Oh..." Pinkie frowned, her friends had said that they would send word to her as soon as Sugar Cube was back up and running, what the world was going on? She didn't want to be here anymore, every day was dragging on longer than the next, Pinkie didn't think she could take it much longer!

Pennington let out another long sigh as he finished his third bowl of microwave ramen noodles for the day. It had been a while since his new Daring Do book was released under his pen name, Scorching Quill, and every copy had been sold from the shelves of his small store in Ponyville. In fact, if it weren't for the separate account that he had made for his profits from "Scorching Quill's" efforts, he would be flat broke. Nopony wanted to come to him to ask for commissions any more, it seemed. Even his most loyal customers had stopped coming in to ask for the occasional poem or short story. He had considered leaving to go on another adventure, but he simply wasn't in the mood for risking life and limb in the pursuit of new sensations. Maybe I should go on a camping trip in Everfree... Go visit Zecora! That always cheers me up! Rather than leap from his seat and declare to nopony in particular that he was leaving, as was his normal style, the depressed writer just took another sip from the Styrofoam bowl, even foregoing a spoon as he ate. If I do go... I'll have to take the back door. I don't want the DUST on the doorbell to fall on me... He glared at the motionless chime and wondered why he never cleaned it...

Meanwhile, Eclipse had slipped into his own depression. Some earth pony was constantly running around in the Tardis, forcing him to stay hidden at almost all times. When he wasn't hiding, Eclipse would go and watch old memories of himself and Discord, but it was just a glimpse into a time long gone... Something that could never be brought back, with or without a time machine. The humming of the Tardis's engines rocked him to sleep each night, and he had grown to regard the Tardis as the only thing that he could truly call a friend... The first friend he had had since Discord.... was defeated.

As the afternoon started, Fluttershy was hard at work flitting around to feed all of the animals. The fires that had crippled Ponyville had not spread far out, but some of the local animal's homes had been destroyed, and of course Fluttershy had taken each and every animal in need under her care. Her bunny, Angelcakes, tapped his foot impatiently "Oh, just a moment Angel. I'll make you lunch just as soon as I finish feeding the rest of these guys..." she said as she scattered some seeds for her chickens. The rabbit huffed, shlumping down and pouting, though Fluttershy was unable to pay attention to him. She was in need of a break.

Twilight walked through Ponyville, monitoring the reconstructions that had been successful. She always tried to double-check on every building, as was her nature. A list and quil floated before her with the use of her magic. Normally, Spike would be the one checking off of the checklist, but the baby Dragon had not been the same since two months back and the incident with Puff. He had been more unattatched and distant, and Twilight didn't like it, but she supposed she just needed time...

Pennington finished off the rest of his soup, putting up a sign in the window that said, "Gone Adventuring! Closed until further notice!" As he locked the front doors and walked out of the back of his shop, he once again felt the thrill of leaving home with nothing but a full stomach and the pack on his back. He dropped his keys into their special hiding place, making sure that no one was watching, the trotted off into town to find the train station and the first train to Canterlot. I should probably go and see Lily before I leave... He finally smiled as he thought of his good friend, trying to stay afloat as a hairdresser in Canterlot. She refused "Scorching Quill's" help, and was the only pony who knew Pennington's secret alter-ego. While Scorching Quill was off on the summit of some mountain peak or escaping an ursa major, everypony thought that Pennington's "Gone Adventuring" sign was simply a joke...

Two months had passed since the dragon attack, but nothing had changed for Applejack. She was hard at work bucking at apples but was mighty sore for having missed the adventure the other girls had told her about. Poor Granny Smith was hospitalized during the time of the dragon attack and AJ had gone to see her. The orange mare bucked one last tree and watched with a satisfied look as the apples all fell into a basket. Adjusting her hat, she sighed and looked to Ponyville. "Ah sure do hope nothin' like that ever happens again." Closing her eyes and letting a gentle breeze blow her mane, she opened them as she felt something touch her hoof..

All throughout Equestria, mysterious letters found their way to certain ponies..
Letters addressed to Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Twilight, and Pennington all came to the ponies on a casual breeze. All letters were the same, a TARDIS-blue color but each was marked with a different number, One-through-Seven corresponding respectively with the ponies..

The Doctor stormed about the TARDIS, looking for something he casually misplaced in the wardrobe section. Huffing at being unable to find what he was looking for, he went back to the console room and casually messed with it like he always did but something was bugging him.. When he first got back into the TARDIS two months ago, he did a quick scan and was told that something had taken up residence inside but the ship itself refused to tell him just what. The Doctor didn't mind though, whatever it was was actually giving off residual energy the TARDIS was using to power itself. He was just about to open his mouth and call out to whatever it was living in his ship but was cut short but a curt knocking on the doors. "Well that's odd. Wonder who it is.." Trotting over to the door and opening it, the Doctor found nobody around. Shrugging, he started to close the door but stopped when he noticed was taped to it.. taking the TARDIS-blue envelope, he threw it inside onto the chair, shut the door behind him, and went back to the console with a grimace.

One last letter flitted through Ponyville, weaving in and out of the legs of wandering ponies and floating to the last spot Clockwork was seen two months ago. Before it flew off the edge, it was caught by the mouth of the very stallion who went missing..

When opened, the letters would all read:
"You are invited on a once-in-a-lifetime journey with the Doctor. Two ponies aren't near to just simply enter the TARDIS, you know who you are, and you will be picked up soon enough. Those who can, come to the TARDIS. Pack your bags, my little ponies, but be wa" That was all it read. Each letter was marked with a number and had the respective ponies cutie mark stamped on it as well.

((Sorry all, but Commando-38 is in the hospital and will be unable to fulfill his role as the Doctor until he's released. He's left me explicit instructions on what to do though so just bare with me.))

Dash had been flying around the outskirts of Ponyville for about a half hour, when an unknown object flew into her face. Whatever it was, it smacked her at about 60 miles an hour, making her temporarily flutter out of control. After snatching the object out of her face and recovering from a tumbling spiral, she examined it, hovering in the air as she held the envelope out before her. Rainbow looked around, surprised not to see any mail ponies around. "Huh? Well, that's weird..." She shook her head and took off flying again, eventually ending up at her old friend Fluttershy's house. She slowed to a stop and landed in Fluttershy's front yard, arriving just as her friend was finishing feeding her pets. "Hey Fluttershy, what's going on?"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 29, 2012 6:56 am

Twilight Sparkle had just checked the last shop off of her list. Everyone was inspected right on schedule. She had just put the list back in her saddlebag when a blue envelope fluttered to her feet. Somehow, the blue seemed familiar. Using her magic, she opened the envelope, reading the letter inside. A smile immediately crossed her face. The Doctor. But why hadn't he finished that sentence? Oh well. Without a second thought she turned and raced home. She had packing to do.

Fluttershy had just fed the picky and impatient rabbit when Rainbow Dash landed. She gave her friend a smile, "Oh, I was just feeding my animals. It's a lot of work but I just finished. What about you Rain--" She was cut off by a blue envelope fluttering in the breeze and landing on her wing. "--bow? Odd. I'm not expecting any letters..."

((Oh no! I hope he is okay...))

Rainbow tilted her head, watching as her friend was also hit with a letter similar to the one Rainbow had just gotten. The letter was actually more than similar, it was identical! "Hey, you got one of those too huh? I suppose I should see what mine says..." Dash took out the one she had recieved and tore it open, and began to skim the paragraphs, reading out loud. "Mrs. Rainbow Dash you are invited...Doctor, blah blah blah...something about picking ponies up...TARDIS...pack your bags. Well, I'll be damned." She walked over to Fluttershy, she had a strong feeling that her letter said the same thing.

Pennington was in Canterlot when he received his letter. It flew in through the window as he was having his usual argument with Lily over the price of getting his coat and mane dyed from dark blue and violet to blazing reds and oranges. The letter settled on the counter in front of him, but neither of them seemed to notice.

Look, Lily, I want to pay you your normal price, and then give you a tip! He rolled his eyes, ignoring the letter that had landed on the counter next to him.

100 bits? As a tip? The pink-coated unicorn blew a few wisps of violet mane out of her face. I don't care if you're Pennington Inkwell or Scorching Quill, that's ridiculous! She shoved the sack of bits back towards her customer.

Well, then consider it payment in advance for my next visit!"Scorching Quill" rolled his eyes and pushed it back. After all, I'm going to need to come back and get myself back to normal before I go back to Ponyville...

You've already paid for your next dozen visits! Lily shook her head, reaching to take off the jeweled necklace that hung around her neck. And while you're here, you can take this back, too. Despite the kind note you put on the package, my birthday isn't for another two months... She was surprised when his hoof grabbed hers, pushing it back down from the necklace clasp.

That was a gift, birthday or not, for my favorite hairdresser... He dropped the sack behind the counter, ending the argument. And that is a donation to my favorite up-and-coming business in Canterlot. He turned around and walked out of the door, grinning when she couldn't see. While he had chosen to keep his work a secret and refused to move to Canterlot, Calalily Curl was the opposite story. Seeking to improve her talent and make a name for herself, Lily had moved to Canterlot, where she struggled to even make a living. Now I can be sure that she'll make her rent this month....

Lily groaned as Pennington walked out, leaving his money behind. Even if he has more than enough money, I don't want his charity... I came to prove to my parents that I can survive in the big city...

He gave you that necklace, Lily? One of her fellow workers giggled. Are you sure that he doesn't just do this because he likes you?

Lily rolled her eyes, turning back to her friend. Are you kidding? I tried visiting him in Ponyville... All that pony can think about is his next book, his next adventure, or how much longer he has to wait for his next bowl of ramen to finish heating up... She finally noticed the letter sitting on her counter, pulling it open.

Pennington... Doctor? Once-in-a-lifetime adventure? Those are the kind that ponies don't always come back from. I guess that Pennington was supposed to get this letter! She thought for a moment, then stuffed the letter into the trash can. This sounds like an adventure that he ought to stay away from... for his own safety. I want him to come back so that I can give him his money! She snapped out of her reverie as a new customer came in, demanding that every grey hair in her mane be dyed out.

The Doctor plopped down in the chair beside the envelope, not even bothering to cast it a second glance. He had his own ideas of where the envelope came from but refused to open it until he saw fit. His intense concentration was cut short when a knocking came on the TARDIS door. Getting up, he stormed to the door, his voice full of irritation. "If this is one more letter, I can't be held responsible for what I'm going t- Oh. Hello, Miss Rarity."

Standing before the pony-who-wasn't-a-pony was Rarity, fashionista extraordinare. "Doctor? May I come in?" She asked, her horn lit with magical energy. "Of course, of course, come right in. Eh, what's that?" He asked. Rarity trotted primly into the TARDIS, revealing what she was holding with her magic. "Oh don't act dumb, Doctor. You sent me this letter and here I am- The other girls should be coming along soon enough. I'm guessing one of the ponies you mentioned that weren't nearby was Pinkie." Rarity dropped the torn open envelope and half exposed letter on the Doctor's head as she looked in disgust at the TARDIS' interior. "I swear, it's like every time I redecorate in here, it always come back to.. THIS." She punctuated "THIS" with a slight gag.

"Oi! I happen to like her theme choices so watch your mouth." The Doctor said jokingly, taking the envelope and throwing it over his own but holding onto the letter. Scanning it quickly, he threw it away as well. "Yeah.. the others.." The Doctor walked up to the console and began to flip switches as usual. "As soon as the other girls get here, we'll set out for Fillyde-" "Hello? Is anypony here?"

Both Rarity and the Doctor wheeled around to the doorway to see who had spoken. Raising a hoof in shock, Rarity pointed at the newcomer, "It's you! How are you here and why?"

((I'm back in action guys. Just a temporary thing, all is good now.))

((GREAT to have ya back, doc!))

It didn't take long for Pennington to see the mistake that he had made: seeing Lily first. But, on the other hoof, if I had gotten my supplies first, she would have guessed where I was going and tried to stop me. Now that he actually looked the way that he did in the author portraits in the back of his books, he was being constantly swarmed by ponies asking for photos and autographs.

Finally, though, after a few hours, he had made it to all of his usual supply shops, he had hopped onto a train headed out of the country. I really hope that this won't be like the last time I made a visit to the Arabian desert... Last time, I was captured by a group of bandits while I was making my way to an excavation site! He muttered to himself. And that wasn't pleasant at all... He was completely oblivious to the Doctor's letter or the fact that a far greater adventure was about to land right in his lap.

Eclipse, on the other hand, was the polar opposite of Pennington. In the face of even the least of danger (Or what he considered dangerous: more ponies), he became more and more nervous. And when he became frightened, Eclipse lost control of his powers...

All of the lights in the Tardis glowed brighter, and several fuses exploded from the power surge. Power Capacity at 125%. The screen read as the "Desktop Theme" began to rapidly circulate between a dozen or so options. Energy Radiation rapidly increasing from source! Source must CALM DOWN! Without a way to speak, however, the Tardis couldn't get the news of its plight to Eclipse. Tell Eclipse Tumult to calm down, Doctor. The screen flashed in large, red letters.

Before the Doctor could ask simply what Rarity was going nuts about because of this new stallion, he recoiled back as a fuse on the console blew, sparking where his hoof used to be. "One-hundred and twenty five?! Calm down, old girl, calm down!" He yelled at the console. As Rarity backed away from the console and started to screaming as the theme began to switch constantly, the Doctor ran around it looking at all the screens and trying to fix the problem. As he read the text that became scrawled out in bright red letters on the main screen, the Doctor backed away and held a hoof to his mouth and made a "Shh"-ing noise all across the TARDIS, the noise amplified by the large console room and creating a natural echo. Rarity's screaming stopped as if some unnatural force had made her instantly calm and the Time Lord hoped his age-old trick reached to the ears of whatever the source of the TARDIS' chaotic energy was. Of course, it would have to, the console room's echo of the Shh reaching into Tumult's ears and cooing him into a calmer state, much like a lullaby to a baby.

Clockwork had absolutely no idea what was going on and acting on some instinct that screamed in the back of his head, he moved towards Rarity and held her in a protective grasp as the sparks rained about. A few of the TARDIS lights blew out, raining glass down upon him while he acted as a shield- His ears went deaf with both the sounds of the chaotic machine around him and Rarity's screaming- But that's when the only noise he heard was a hushing "Shh" and both the screaming of the mare in his grasp and the machine silenced. Releasing Rarity, Clockwork stumbled back and collapsed, wincing in pain at the small bits of glass that managed to get through his coat and cut his body.

Rarity instantly calmed down as the Doctor did.. something. She hadn't even noticed that Clockwork was covering her from any thing that could damage her until he backed away. "Oh dear, Clockwork! Doctor, help him!" She yelled back at the Time Lord who was looking underneath the console. Lifting his head, the Doctor calmly trotted over and as usual, buzzed his weird little tool he called a Sonic Screwdriver over the injured stallion. She sighed in relief when he told her that the damage wasn't major and that it was the smallest thing, something that Fluttershy could easily patch up whenever she arrived.

The Doctor's trick had indeed worked, calming the draconequus to the point of regaining control of himself. As the chaos in the Tardis came to a halt, he slinked away into the deeper parts of the machine. I'll just hide until they're gone... This place is so huge, there's no way they'll ever find me... He muttered, trying to reassure himself.

The Tardis, on the other hoof, had different ideas. Energy source pinpointed. Name: Eclipse Tumult. Species: Draconequus. Age: Unknown. The readout began giving the Doctor all of the information that he had been asking for before, but could never receive. Important Notes: Very Skittish, with phobias of Ponies, Elements of Harmony, and Princesses Celestia and Luna. When frightened, emits exponentially larger amounts of energy. This was followed by a holographic replica of Eclipse, which hovered in the air and gave them a 360* view. Contact and trust must be established, or further power spikes will be an eventuality... The hologram was replaced by a map of the nearby region of the Tardis, and Eclipse's location pinpointed as a glowing point.

Flutterrshy read her note silently as Rainbow Dash read hers. "Mine said the same thing." she said. "Oh but...I really shouldn't go. The animals need me. But, the Doctor did ask for us specifically, and travelling sounds...fun I guess." She said, torn. Her rabbit, Angel thumped her paw, looking at Fluttershy and pointing inside to a saddle bag. Fluttershy smiled and turned to Rainbow. "You're coming too right, Dash?"

The saddlebag on her back was slightly heavier than usual, but Twilight didn't mind. She had all of the necessary books and supplies with her, and happily walked towards where the TARDIS always sat. "I can't wait to see what the Doctor has in store." she said wit a smile. However, when she saw the TARDIS, her expression dropped It seemed to be...out of sorts. "I wonder what's wrong..." she said trotting quickly over to the door and knocking "Doctor? Is everything okay?!"

((Is Spike with her? If so assume she was addressing Spike))
